Is it me or was it funny how the whole timing thing went. The event was scheduled from 9pm to 11pm and the first 3 fights took forever to start and finish. I was looking at the clock bout time Kimbo was up and it was like 10 minutes to 11pm. I just knew it was gonna run over the time limit. Every other fight took about 10 minutes to actually start with about 20 minutes for each one to end. Thank the Universe that there is somebody that was thinking and saw the same thing that I saw! Look, I'm not the kind of guy to sing the praises of Kimbo, but dude was tailor made for MMA considering all MMA is is street fighting with rules with a little Mauy Thai and Brazilian Jiujitsu thrown on top. That was a slip and if anyone knows anything about MMA you'd know that all it takes to win is to mount your opponent and start throwing a lot of punches and the lame duck refs will just stop the fight rather you're taking a lot of damage or none at all. You'd also see if you watched the video that Kimbo got right back up and jumped in the refs face because of the stoppage. This happens all the time in MMA and a lot of decent fighters have lost to complete losers and bums because of that rule and they were "deranked" because of it.
But I guess some people are just idiots like that though. Again, for all the MMA wannabes out there, the simple trick to winning 75-85% of your matches is to mount your opponent and just start throwing more punches on top of your opponent than he's capable of blocking at the time and I guarantee you'll win most of your matches. This is why I like straight up kickboxing and boxing more sometimes because it's more balanced, you see better fights, and the refs actually know when to stop the fights! I still can't believe people fell for that BS. I bet that White boy's gonna get more exposure, money, endorsements, movie appearances, etc than any other fighter in MMA at the moment. All because of a slip and an unfair stoppage. Yeah, that definitely looked set up to me! |

Sad thing is in MMA, the way it's set up, you don't get an instant rematch. You have to build yourself back up again, which is very stupid not to mention weird. A fight can be stopped for anything resulting in a fluke victory for some punk that got lucky over a top ranked fighter or legend. And I'm not even talking about this fight with Kimbo and Pink. If anyone was watching UFC last night, you'd see that. The fight between Rampage Jackson and Forrest Griffin was on, and let's just say, the fight was going to Griffin regardless of how much damage Rampage did to him. And by the way, Rampage almost knocked the dude out at least 5 times, yet he still lost a decision. The MMA like most other combat sports are mostly rigged, which is why you must always go for the knock out! Rampage was robbed(even though it's old news), and I don't know what the f*ck happened with Kimbo last night...that was a travesty.
But you don't have to believe me, just do a count down on when Kimbo slipped and wait to the dude starts punching him and count how many seconds it took for the ref to stop the fight. I counted 15. When somebody's raining punches on you like that, you don't have the proper time to defend yourself before the fight is automatically stopped. |

That was completely fixed. It was a total disappoinment- talk about both the UFC and Channel 2 trying to boost their ratings. If I had paid money for those tickets, I'd be pissed off. Ken Shamrock couldn't fight because he had a cut over his eye. Yeh ok.
What a waste. Granted the qualifications were brawling (kimbo) and Jiu Jitsu (pinky), but I think that Kimbo had a much better chance than was given to him, even if in the end he didn't win, he still could have done more. I hope he got a nice fat check. I just didn't think Kimbo was the kind of person who would throw something away for money. But, I guess in this day and age, the dollar speaks.

I wanna begin by saying this fight was not a set up. Kimbo lives in the same town as I do and brings his son to the same barber I go to so I met him quite a few times and he is not a bad person. So dont let the tv make u think he always walks around with a chip on his shoulder all day with a bad attitude cuz he dont. He is actually a good dude. I also went to the fight and was upset not only bc he didnt fight Shamrock cuz thats why I bought my tickets but also bc Kimbo lost to some dude who is in a lighter weight division than he is in and immidiatly went down in less than 8 seconds and lost the fight within 14 seconds and dint give anyone a good show. I do think if the guy gave Kimbo a chance to get up it wouldve been a better show but he didnt and I dont blame him bc that contract Kimbo and Shamrock signed was a 200,000 dollar contract just to fight and another 200,000 dollars if u win so the other guy not only got payed more to fight but also got that extra dough for winning. But it was not a set up or the other guy to let him win. Kimbo wont do that cuz they both got payed enough to do what they was suppose to do, period. It happens to the best of us sometimes. Kimbo didnt train to fight that guy so it was a bad sitution for the both of them. So it was a mess. It was bound to happen one day anyways. It happened to all the greatest champions in fighting history. Every champion lost at least one or two fights in there carreer. So just bc of this lost dont mean Kimbo should stop doing what he is doing. And by the way for the ppl who have the lack of knowledge of kimbo this was not his first fight he lost. He also lost to some other guy as well in a little fighting gym. But the fight lasted for almost11 minutes or something like that. So yall making Kimbo sound as if he should quit or something. Would yall be saying that if u knew he lost before and found out he was fighting on tv for the mma? Na, Kimbo will come back and give a better show the next time. He just was to mad that night cuz he didnt get to fight Shamrock and wasnt prepared. He'll be back and it will be a show for everyone to watch. Thats all... |
