It's a shame that Beyonce did not offer her condolenses. It does show how she feels about Jennifer. However, if a person such as NEW YORK could offer hers shows human compassion towards JHud whether she liked her or not. I still like Bey, but I just don't believe in she should have snubbed her at a time like that whether she liked her or not. Now back to reaching out to J-Hud, Beyonce isn't obligated to do anything she doesn't want to do, but their was plenty of celebrities who reached out to J-Hud (who are not her friends) & gave their condolence, she received condolences from 2 powerful people on earth, our president Barack Obama & Oprah Winfrey, matter of fact, Oprah let her stay in one of her condos through this rough time & Barack wants her to sing @ the inaugeration if she's up to it, so who's Beyonce??? She definitely ain't powerful, I don't care how much millions she got or who she's married too.

I kind of feel where MTO is coming from on this one. No, Bey is not obligated to say ish. But if it was me in Dreamgirls and I spent months making on a movie with with a person and I hear about something tragic happening to them, then I'ma say or send something to show my empathy. I can understand if Bey didn't want to call her b/c those kind of situations are very emotional, overwhelming, and awkward b/c there's nothing anyone can say or do that will make the situation better b/c at the end of the day, Jennifer's nephew, mom, and brother are still gone. But I would most def send some flowers to the funeral or something. God forbid, but if I was in Jen's shoes, I would most def appreciate the condolences (sp?).

Another thing...unfortunately at work, i've known too co-workers that experienced some loss in their fam this year. I didn't even talk to either person like that, but I still signed a card (not just my name) for them. Simple things like that will make a person feel like others care and understand what they're going thru. Even one of the guys that I did that for came up to me at work and gave a heartfelt "Thank You" for it. It's just a little comfort to give to let people know you care and that they're not alone in their time of tragedy. |

This is the most I have ever commented in a Beyonce thread (aside from the one about her being lightened and altered on the hair dye box) so as unnecessary as I think your first few lines were, I thank you for making an attempt to answer my question intelligently. I directed the question towards you because you and I have dialogued in the past.
The actions that she took to accumulate what she has speaks volumes about her character and even if she was a teenager then or in her early twenties and under her fathers' control, she is a grown married women (even that was calculated but that is another topic) and can make decisions for herself. Her decision not to at least call or send a card to Jennifer Hudson, in my opinion speak volumes about her character and as I said earlier, I don't know her personally but the way she portrays herself, she does not come across as a good person.
I can only speak for myself but trust and believe, if the headline read "any celebrity did not reach out to the next celebrity after the murder", I would have the same reaction. If the headline said texasglamourchick did reach out to girlsluvgems (just picking a random name that I see often) I would have the same reaction. It is about human kindness and common decency, not your profession or your celebrity status.

I lost my 18 day old son on November 5th. He was born premature. And he was my only child. One of my so called best friends I met in college, didn't call me, text, email or nothing and still hasn't to this very day. Now that hurt my feelings.
There were other chics who knew about my son passing that I had either worked with or went to college with who didn't reach out to me, but we were not friends, and guess what their condolences didn't matter to me because we weren't like that. Their reaching out would not have impacted my life or my mourning, but my so called friends' would have. I believe that the ones I wasn't cool with were praying for me and everyone can use an extra voice in prayer during these times.
Beyonce and Jennifer were not friends. If it's not in your heart to call someone or reach out to them, but it's in your heart to pray for them, then you're better off doing what's in your heart. That way, regardless of who judges you for your actions, God will see them as good because you went with your heart and when your heart tells you to do something, we know that it's the spirit of God whispering to you.
My so called friend though however, was just selfish. |

Maybe some don't know but the whole reason ppl started sayin Beyonce did not even reach out was that there were reports that she attended the funeral. Finally a friend of Jen's spoke up and said she was not there, and further, did not reach out AT ALL.
If Beyonce no longer has time for church, and said

Oprah Winfrey,[b]Beyonce Knowles[/b], Missy Elliott and Queen Latifah attended the memorial service for Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew Monday.
Jennifer looked “upset but managed to keep herself together” as she joined 450 mourners at Chicago’s Apostolic Church of God to bid a final farewell to her mom Darnell Donerson, brother Jason Hudson and seven-year-old nephew Julian King, who were fatally shot last month.
The Oscar-winning actress entered the church with her fiance David Otunga, following a procession of two hearses and a horse-drawn carriage which carried Julian’s coffin.
Once inside the building, Jennifer, 27, spent some time in front of the open caskets of her brother and nephew, before touching her mother and leaning down to kiss her.
A source said: “David was at Jennifer’s side for the entire service, wiping her tears and holding her. Jennifer looked equally in shock and mournful throughout the service, but managed a smile when speakers shared their memories of her family.
"Jennifer looked upset but managed to keep herself together.”
The service ended with a rendition of gospel hymn ‘Your Grace and Mercy’, sung by Fantasia Barrino – who won the third series of TV talent show ‘American Idol’, the programme which catapulted Jennifer to fame.
Fantasia walked down the aisle of the church as she sang. She ended up standing in front of Jennifer and her 31-year-old sister Julia, the mother of Julian, and singing directly to the pair while holding Jennifer’s hand.
Another source revealed: “Jennifer managed a smile when speakers shared their memories of her family, and Fantasia brought the house down with her singing.”
The funeral was followed by a horse-drawn carriage leading the procession to the Oak Woods Cemetery where the coffins were buried. |

I understand where you are coming from. I don't know her at all but I feel horrible about this situation. Yet MTO seems to point out one person as if it is her job to pick up the phone without understanding what type of relationship they have. It would have been a good thing to do if they had that kind of relationship but to say that she and her family are praying (if one believes in prayer) is enough.
