I work in the legal profession in NC (more info. than you need to know, MTO) and this law is called
"conversion" or "alienation of affection" and YES, you can and SHOULD sue for it if indeed you find out cheating hubby's jump-off is aware that he's married. Most people who pursue these charges during a divorce usually ONLY do so when the third party is aware of the marital status of the other person and still went on to have an affair with the married party. Sucks but it sure is a deterrent to cheat - here, anyway! Not.worth.it! |

Last Day on the Job
It was the mailman's last day on the job after 35 years of carrying the mail through all kinds of weather to the same neighborhood.

Since that's probably over you guys head, it means the accused must maintain a residence in the state where the law applies. So unless she owns a home in North Carolina she doesn't have anything to worry about. And even if she did the burden of proof is very high. |
