You know, I come on this site every now and then to see what's in the "news" and read some of the comments ya'll make. Sometimes I laugh, other times I just think you're ignorant and this is one of those times.
How can someone be happy about ANY couple being divorced? Come on now. I would think some of ya'll would be less judgemental since they are an African American couple who kept their business out of the streets. I respect people like that. And its really sad to read people say she is not pretty enough. So what if she is not Halle? Halle has her imperfections as well. Tisha is a beautiful woman who has taken her insecurities and made jokes out of them (her head, her butt, her weight gain) to show that its not a big deal. She seems real to me. And how can ya'll be so judgemental about her taking papers out of Martin? Have ya'll ever been sexually harrassed? I give him respect for empowering her to do the RIGHT thing. I agree with everyone else who made a comment about how she deserves this s*it. Personally, I refuse to watch both him and her shows. Lemme take it back to the 90s. I remember watching a behind the scenes show on E! about the show Martin and they were showing how well Tisha and Martin got along backstage. During the breaks the waould lay on the couch together and he would kiss her ON THE LIPS and she had NO problem with it. Didn't screw up her face, didn't give him an attitude, NOTHING. She actually was kissing him back- and the camera WASN'T rolling, they were straight CHILLEN. Fast forward, she starts dating Duane and eventually gets engaged to him. 5 minutes later, I hear she's suing Martin and the show and Mr. Lawrence himself started crumbling (his marriage to the future Mrs. Emmitt Smith ended, he collapsed in the park after smokin that good s*it, if you watch the final shows of Martin when Gina was 'absent' you can tell he was stressin and going through something) So back to everyone's comments- YES, GOD DON'T LIKE UGLY! She's fat now and not cute AT ALL (my mom is 46, not a star, and s*its all over this b*tch). I wouldn't be surprised if by next month Mr. Martin doesn't follow in good ole Russell Simmon's footsteps and gets with a 22 year old. Good luck Apple Head. You def. need it. I really hope this isn't true. Tisha does have sarcoidosis, and that's a big reason for her weight gain. Sarcoid is treated with steroids (prednisone), and that makes you gain weight. I read this article where Duane said he wasn't attracted to Tisha at all when he first met her! She was hitting on him and he finally went out with her and "grew to love her"...that never sounded too promising to me. Duane is doing his thing- if you didn't know he owns a Sports Agency and represents some of the hottest B Ball players. So who cares about My Wife & Kids. He also invests in property develpment. @tmarti30: I have to disagree with you on the Tisha Campbell/Martin Lawrence issue. Tisha gave a lengthy interview after that blowup and I haven't heard her discuss it since. She said every single day Martin would make derogatory comments about her or a part of her body. She ignored it until one day he said something so bad in front of everybody that it could no longer be ignored. She refused to work with him after that and if you notice, the last few episodes they are always in different rooms and that's when they got married on the show. That must've been hard on the crew too. It's like putting up with someone at work and then the straw hits the fan and you can't take it anymore.
Anyway, after that is when it came out that Martin was in the middle of the highway talking to himself and other incidents that referred to him having a mental illness. When Tisha was asked about the show years later, she said "I won't discuss anyone with a mental illness." Tisha Campbell looks like she could be Martin Lawrence's first wife's sister!
Martin seems to be bitter about those years too. His ex-wife was in hiding at a hotel once in fear of her life; Martin was acting like a lunatic back then. However, in Run Tell Dat, he talks about her not wanting to cook and none of it being his fault so he was trying to get back at her for speaking out about his craziness. They're friends now because his ex, now Mrs. Emmitt Smith, said they get along for the children.
It's been reported that Martin is either manic or bipolar. He may be but I think he was on some drugs back then too. He's a funny comedian though and I'm glad that's all behind him now.
@tarrilove: I saw that article and I was like "who knew?" Duane was talking about how successful he is behind closed doors and no one really knows. How he manages those athletes plus does TV is extraordinary! |
