: MediaTakeOut.com is sad to report to you that R&B artist Nivea and her R&B husband Terius "The Dream" Nash will be divorcing. The two R&B artists had been married for nearly 3 years and have a 2 year old daughter together named Navy Talia.
Word is that since The Dream's recent success, he's been acting a fool with a number of young women. And that Nivea's finally had enough.
Here is how Nivea announced their separation:
I am also sorry to have to report the news of our separation. It is however a mutual decision for the both of us. We see this as an attempt to try and maintain the friendship we've developed since our marriage and also to allow growth for myself as well as him.Talk about a classy way to announce a split. We wish both of them the best....Unfortunately I was not prepared for partnership or even real life for that matter. I am completely and truly grateful and thankful to God for sending him into my life and to him for everything that he has done for me and my family and that includes monetarily as well as spiritually and mentally, especially for myself, which was never his responsibility in the first place.
None of you are aware of the real me and I plan to make that as clear as possible on this next album. I come from a sad and scary past that I am still in the process of overcoming and growing past, thanks to the man I love and always will. This is truly the only person I've ever known or heard of that is incredibly loving, passionate, wise, psychic, wise, creative, genius, and many more things that I could never put into words.
I don't feel it is fair for neither of us, especially him, to continue this never-ending battle of the minds that he and I have continued for long enough. I want nothing more than for him and I to be happy. His happiness is all I want, for I could never repay him for what he has endured by being my friend, partner, and husband.
I kept wondering how he was acting a certain way...he kept calling Rihanna his baby and in the new video falsetto..he is kissing some girl passionately...i was hoping they'd last...it's sucks...sounds like she'll be fine tho...like she has no regrets...apparently she has been thinking about for quite sometime...what is it about money that makes guy act this way...
It kills me how these dumb imature liitle boys don't take into consideration that alot of the tricks that throw themselves at them once they reach a certain success ONLY deal with them, chase them, sleep with them, whtever...for the mere fact of the fame and money, and the ideal of what they may acquire by hanging out with them or a road dog. Nivea is more than a woman by putting him in a good light and still thanking him for the GOOD times they did share in the marriage. Your lovely Nivea...keep you head up girl. And for the dried up Timerland look alike....you need to wise up. But I'll just count it off as a nucca that hardly ever got in badussy from jump and now he got *** spread eagle outside his door so he will lose his mind in the process. Hope his azz don't get the package dealing with WORLD badussy.
Once again i feel like I'm reading a different story than the readers. from her letter it reads more into there marriage than him cheating on her. alot can happen in a 3 year marriage, not counting before they got married. seems like she got pregnent to early and they got married. i commend him for that. she also sounds like he helped he endured some of her demons and was there for her when no one else was. There may have been some things he did that she could not take and because of her past she points to cause a lot of distrust and insecurities on her part. all in all, it's deeper issues between them than what you guys are commenting on.
Aww, that sucks! I always like to see black celebrity couples make there relationship last. She missing out though because dream really is the bizness and is making alot of money. He wrote "Just Fine", "Umbrella" and "Bed" (note the ella's and eh's). Hopefully Nivea will come back hard on this next album tho. I wish them luck.

I saw her about 2 years ago in ATL for New Years and she performed and she was big and pregnant, but not married.
I think there was some envy going on. Think about- he is a producer and she a singer. How come he couldn't give her some tracks, or hit to sing on. IF he did it for rihanna then he could for his wifey. He produced songs for everybody, his self, and they momma, why not her.?! That was their biggest issue bet;)
Let's grow up. It is always sad when a family has to separate. There is a child involved and I must agree with MTO she did so in a very classy and mature manner. Not many ppl who are in the public eye would have bowed out so gracefully. Nivea was not one of my favs but she does gain a lot os respect for handling herself like a woman.

Maybe I am slow, but I had not idea Nivea was married, let alone to The Dream! That's a shame that the marriage is crumbling due to his unfaithful ways; and especially since there's a child involved. She is doing the right thing though-us women don't have to tolerate cheating men in our lives just for the sake of keeping the relationship together. And the same thing goes for men, they should not allow us women to cheat on them if that is the case. It's okay to love someone that is cheating on you, but love yourself enough to get out of the relationship and not allow yourself to be dogged.

That name is NOT ghetto. Aquanetta is a ghetto name (no offense to girls with ghetto names). You're entitled to your own opinion, but my opinion is that you seemed to have gotten "unique" and "ghetto" confused. Naming your child after a color is not ghetto. Naming your child after a bottle of liquor IS ghetto. I don't consider a name ghetto unless you can apply for a job and you already know the person is black just by looking at the name (how many white girls named Quaneisha do YOU know???). Looking at the name Navy, you wouldn't know if she was white or black just by looking at the name, so I don't classify it as ghetto.
I think her statement was classy, but I'm kinda curious about her. I noticed that she used to be engaged to lil' wayne. Then *** after she broke up with him she turned up pregnant. She said it was her husband. But then recently Birdman, marries a girl that's a dead ringer for Nivea. The girl is also very young, about the same age Nivea was when she dated lil' wayne. I'm not crazy, something is shady. I would not be suprised if she messed with both Birdman and wayne. Then pinned the pregnancy on The Dream .
Clearly, she has had her heart broken and doesn't want to disgrace herself for getting played. But, at the same time she has probably been through so, much that the few good times they had together are enough for her to walk away without feeling used afterall, he's taken care of her. :) :( and other women as well.
Awww I'm a fan of Nivea. I remember when her and Dream first got engaged and when she had Miss Navy Nash (I used to be up on Niveafan.com every weekend lol). I thought they would work out she really seems like she loves him with all her heart though and did in the beginning.
It didn't happen that fast either. Her and Wayne had broken up like a year before she even met Dream. I think Wayne would leave Lauren for Nivea in a FLASH listen to "Something you forgot" Lauren is pretty and all but he would do anything to be back with that girl. I think Nivea is gonna give herself time to heal and grow first before she jumps into another relationship. All I can say is girl situations like this make for great albums! GET IT ALL OUT, Music is a girls bestfriend!
I just hope she gets Neyo to write on her next album or something and Tim or Brian Michael Cox to produce I mean SOMEBODY big name and hot. He was a good guy I remember he used to pick his nephew up from daycare EVERYDAY. That's where I met him, @ the daycare. I must defend his honor!
