: MediaTakeOut.com has been inundated with emails from angry readers who believe that Saliesha, the winner of this seasons America's Next Top Model cheated. And what's worse is the readers believe that Tyra helped her do it!!
Here's the evidence that the readers point out. First, Saleisha attended Tyra's T-Zone camp when she was 14 years old. And the two ladies have reportedly stayed in touch ever since.
Second, according to the Official Rules and Regulations of ANTM, contestants must not have ANY prior modeling or TV experience. Here is the exact phrasing in the contract signed by both producers and all the models:
[Contestants] must not have previous experience as a model in a national campaign within the last five years (including, but not limited to, appearances in television and print advertisements)This is important, because Saleisha has been a national spokesmodel for Especially Wigs for more than a year now. Third, Saleisha has reportedly has done dozens of commercials - including this Wendy's commercial shot less than a year ago.

Word is that a number of the other contestants from this season's ANTM are looking into possibly bringing a lawsuit against Tyra and the show for cheating.

That can't really be what the contract said because Jade was in Jay-Z's "Change Clothes" video AS A MODEL and wasn't she real *** on the show because of her previous modeling experience??? And Tyra NEVER chose a Black winner until that drunk girl Lisa (from like Season 5 or 6) called Tyra out on her talk show when Nicole won over Nik and Bre saying "well, we all knew it wasn't gonna be a Black winner". Then Danielle turns around and wins. Go figure.

As far as looks i liked heather but she was just not going to make it on the runway. Bianca looked a mess. So Salisha it was. She killed the runway. She almost got her azz sent home a few times so i think she deserved it..I think they sort of mix it up. one white , one black , one other.. The only blacks have been Eva, Danielle and Salisha and the others are Niema and Jaslyn. the rest have been white adrianne, yoanna, caridee, nicole. so its all good.
I didn't watch this season, because frankly, I'm burned out on ANTM and I get annoyed that it is produced by a so-called Black woman and out of 13 girls, it's usuall about 3 Black ones. I thought Tyra started this show to open the door for more Black models, I should've known that wasn't true coming from that disgrace to the Black race. But I saw a few minutes of it a couple weeks ago. I didn't realize that Saleisha is so pretty. She has a classic, standout yet natural type of beauty about her.
Oh yeah, I was incorrect in my previous post saying Danielle was the first Black winner, forgetting about Eva. I think Yaya DEFINITELY should have won over Eva. But weighing the options (brown-skinned, long kinky black hair, dark-brown eyes, afro-centric personality versus lighter brown-skinned, straight or culry blonde hair, greenish-brown eyes, sense of style that can be modified to fit white designers) there was no way Tyra was gonna pass Eva up for Yaya. An undeserved win, but at least she was Black.
I DONT BELIEVE THIS ONE BIT. how they gon say that models are not aloud to have any modeling experience, when jade, eva, and ( i cant think of any right now) but i know lots of models that were on antm had modeling experience before coming on there, thats no secret. even during the episodes u heard the judges say themselves, that such and such has modeling experience or such and such used to model here or there. i think that some of the publics problem is that too many black models are winning so it has to be a scandal somewhere right.I bet u if chantal would of won this would never had been an issue. Tyra needs to end this show anyway..after like 7 seasons its just not the same anymore..I didnt watch not one episode of this season, neither did any of my friends and we used to LOVE this show..it lost its appeal and how many times can you watch a show with the same premise..Tyra needs to just focus on her talk show and stop trying to be a media mogul, dipping her hand in everything and giving poor quality as a result..if these accusations are true, which it is very likely, its going to give the show and Tyra a bad reputation..I always said Tyra was a fake azz woman who is scheming to be the next Oprah..she will do whatever it takes

Although the title of the article makes for good conversation…I don’t think anyone should be surprised that the contestants have prior experience. The show has always been about finding the so called “next” top model….not “do you want to be a model.” So it makes sense that the models participating in the show have worked to some degree or another in the industry. The point of the contract is to exclude established industry professionals and keep the contest between up and coming hopefuls and those new to the industry. Look at the evidence regarding this season’s winner….had she not won or at least been an audience favorite, no one would really have noticed or cared about her burger commercial or the Tyra show appearance….can anyone name the other models that appeared with her that day? What about the name of the other girl in the burger commercial? Without ATM she and the other contestants would still pursue the “little” gigs, model camps or whatever hoping to be discovered (noticed).

I think they need to be more clear in regard to whether a person can have ANY experience, I mean I think the show is better when that has no EXPERIENCE AT ALL, because that is why the challanges are fun to watch BECAUSE THEY ARE a challange.....I think now the show expects you to become prepared, maybe they need a spin-off for people who have experience...but at least most of the winners are BLACK !!! @lonnydan, I've always agreed to an extent with your posts. I usually laugh when I read them. You are somewhat right when you say that black people are mentally ill. Everything for them is the light skin color and I HATE THAT.
As a very light skin sister, I myself have had to deal with rejection because I AM LIGHT SKIN AND HAVE A DIFFERENT COLOR OF HAIR THAN BLACK. So it goes both ways.

ok. I read the rules for ANTM to apply and it says you may or may not have prior experience. Jaslene had a lot of experience and was on the cover of hair magazines and Jade was in videos. All within 5 years of them being on the show. Those aren't the words. Those words were definitely rephrased.

Everybody needs to stop trying to turn this into a black and white issue. This has nothing to do with"whites been doing, so a black person can do it to". The issue here is that Tyra knows Saliesha, and still keeps in contact with her. Now wouldn't yall think something was suspicious if the same person tyra has a close relationship to just ups and win the competition. Lets be honest, Salieshas pictures weren't even all that good. She started getting a little better around the end of the competition. The three girls that were left were Saliesha, Chantel,and Jena. Chantel was weak but Jena wasn't. The point I'm trying to make is Tyra knew if she had putted Jena up against Saliesha everybody on that panel would have chose Jena. Because Jena does take strong pictures, and has a good walk. But they booted Jena out and kept Chantel who takes good pictures but her walk isn't that strong. If it came down to it, it would have been obvious to choose Saliesha as the winner. Tyra set the whole thing up. She knew what she was doing. She made Jena breakdown and cried in front of the judging panel, to make the rest of the judges think that "she's not ready to be here, because she has to deal with finding herself" Tyra knew exactly what she was doing. Jena's breakdown was enough for the judges to boot her off. This is suppose to be a fair competition. It doesn't matter if you know the person and your loyalty is so strong you'll do anything to help them. Your cheating to help them, and on national television for god sakes. Did Tyra really think that no one would catch this.

Besides, if that was what the actual contract read most of the girls wouldn’t have ended up on the show in the first place because most of them have done runway at some point in their lives. Plus, throughout the competition it was made know that Saleisha had prior modeling/runway experience. All of the other contestants were well aware of that. As you can see Saleisha had her foot in the door with Tyra she didn't need to go through Top Model to get there. She had personal contact and guidence already lined up.
I'm not hating on Saleisha I'm glad she's living her dream. I root for all the black women who make it but I can't help but to think about the other black woman who didn't make the final cut? Is it just me, or is this a bit reminiscent of the American Idol controversy from last season...where people were saying the season was rigged for Jordin to win...she'd been in some talent contest a few years before and the judges knew of her before she even auditioned.
As for ANTM, they should just go by the rules. If Saleisha was ineligible because she modeled in the past five years, then she *** have won. Simple as that.

In reality, regardless of MTO reports, Tyra has taken her weave off numerous times-both on ANTM and on her talk show and rocked cornrows and even one time rocked a head scarf. She makes a big deal of not hiding her heritage and jokes plenty about her own wearing of weaves. It's not like she tries to hide it or be something she's not-which is why many Black folks respect her. And I guarantee you that Tyra has NOT had liposuction...LOL! And SMH @ all these black/white comments. Race is not the issue. If the contract states one thing then violating it is wrong. I don't think Saleisha had special treatment throughout the show, but if she's modeled within the last 5 years, her even being in the competition is wrong.

I love HARD WORKERS and people with a high sense of achievement, oh yeah and deserving people, so with that said congratualtions to the young lady who won. I personally stopped watching after Eva won and haven't kept up since. Now to what I really want to talk about. To some of the posters on here that have issues with race ALL THE TIME like lonnydan, and this is with all sincerity, where did some of you grow up or what kind of issues went on in the household that makes you have the mentality that you do? I guess I'm asking because I don't understand where that kind of hate comes from. I mean I've met people like you but I never really understood them either. I grew up in a small town right outside of Detroit that is very mixed. I went to school with whites and blacks and when I was moved to an excelled program with more whites, alot of the black kids in my school were mad at that fact. Because I spoke well they called me white or trying to be white and were a little mad that I had basically achieved and got ahead. It wasn't a big deal but that's when I started to realize that some black people don't wanna see their own get ahead. They ended up taking away our excelled program because the other parents were jealous that we were going on nice fieldtrips and had isolated classes from the other students. So we were punished for doing something that was rewarding for us(doing homework, studying, etc) So instead of the parents encouraging their children to work harder, they fought the system to make us "all the same" but that was just a handful of people, that wasn't everybody. Anyway what I'm trying to say is that I have NEVER heard of anyone in my community or associated with anyone that had a complex and a hatred against skin color within their own people. I think its just crazy, you might as well be apart of the KKK or something like that. I grew up in a school where seeing black boys dating white girls and vice versa was normal. There were no dirty looks, no fights, no comments, it was like hey, if that's who you like/love then so be it. I'm just happy that in our day in age when you can't turn on a tv without the news and everybody saying something negative about our people and them setting us back 100 years,that somebody like Tyra is trying to do her thing. I know it's a gossip site and everyone is gonna have their opinion and I'm all for that, but some of these comments are just outrageous. People act like this girl isn't even one of our own. You don't have to like her, but embrace the fact that she's doing something positive and isn't another statistic. She could be Tyra the crackhead or prostitute but she's not. I'm just trying to understand that's all. Yes, she can overdo the "trying to be ghetto" role at times, and I don't necessarily agree with some of the things she says on her show(like referring to the girls as b*tches, that may be cool for other people but not me) but I'm glad she's doing her thing. I guess I'm coming off sounding like Oprah or something but I really don't care. I just had to say something about that.
Du[SPAM] models get paid to do commercials.Plus she said on the show that she done modeling.Modeling just isn't taking pictures.The girl is gorgeous.Eva is still around.You really don't hear from the white ones that won because they never stood out.Most of them doing commercials.Yaya,Bre,Jaslene I mean the ones who didn't win it are having a lot more success.
Saleisha took good pictures.She had a lot potential.So did Bianca and Heather.I thought Heather was going to take it but I was surprised they sent her home.
I think people are ALWAYS OVER REACTING.Did she say Tyra and herself kept in touched?I'm pretty sure Tyra didn't pick the models that be doing her runway show.

I still happy Saleisha won, you need to have some kind of experience to help you in the competition. You either have experience or natural talent. White people help their kind, let us help our kind. AND???? It's about time more black women get a chance in the modeling business. A few years back Tyra said that as a black model, she got paid considerably less than the white models, who did the same amount of work that she did! If Tyra did "help" this girl win, oh well, because they need to get over it. The fashion world has has definitely cheated our black women long enough, so I am happy that Saleisha won-even if she did have some past experience or exposure. The other girls need to bow out gracefully and except that they did not win.

Yeah I did think it was kind of strange when I heard a contestant say "For someone who's had previous modelling experience, she sucks" ..I was like..previous experience?? Then when I found she also knew Tyra from before..that also seemed a bit off-key. I'm glad Saleisha won and all but it doesn't seem completely legit

Saleisha was my favorite from the jump, but dang. all this does make the competition kinda unfair. its a show for AMATEUR models who dont have experience. But on the other hand, it wuznt like she was a high-fashion vogue/elle girl model. She wuz just doin commercial stuff. But then again, i dont kno. Yall need to look into this story summore!!!
This whole thing really upsets me. I think Tyra is great model and i feel someone i can look up to and it really upsets me to see her not giving everyone a fair chance. I find that so hard to believe. I love ANTM and i hate that something like this is happening. I know people are like well this happens all the time and what you expect from someone. I think that Tyra needs to fill us fans in on this situation. I do think other girls were better. I just wish i could hear both sides, but i dont think Saleisha should have won knowing all of this... her kept in touch with Tyra, she did not follow the rules,and didnt play fairly.
Well, I just wanted to say that I'm just really tired of Tyra's hair color. I like Tyra so don't get me wrong, but why that same hair color forever? Why the over the top "drag queen" hairstyles? She's would look so beautiful in a more natural haircolor like brown or even off black and with a simple flat iron job or a stylish ponytail. Otherwise though, I'm proud of her, in some ways. Nobody's perfect, especially not me, so I won't bother to list what I don't like about her, lol.
i didn't like saleisha at all.. i wanted heather or bianca to be the final two because they were so different and kind of cool in there own ways.
about tyra.. she's so whitewashed it's not even funny.. of course she would help and ultimately select saleisha because they're one of the same.. (black girls who are tokens in white society)

My goodness...i had no idea there even was a 'scandal' going on.. I think the arguments that they knew each other beforehand (from the camp) and that she was on the runway show in Tyra's show aren't important here; even if Tyra suggested to her to audition, whyever not? I would think she is not the only one here to decide who gets to compete and win?
On the other i didn't know either there was a rule about earlier modelling experience, and it is weird that they would break that rule (although it wasn't kept a secret (mainly by Saleisha herself) she modelled before). but she isn't the first one on the show with earlier experience? Even now on cycle 10 there is Allison who app. has modelled before. *shrug*
If you ask me Heather should have won, but who am i?
