Yes she is light skinned and you don't like lightskinned people, however Alicia is a talented young black women that is well educated and very well spoken in all of her interviews (Unloike some people). I always look forward to your comments b/c they're sooooo out there that I (as a lightskin person myself) can't even get mad when I read them. I just find it so hilarious that someone from my own black community can be so ignorant and so full of hate now days, like you.
Instead of focusing so much on the physical (which is kind of shallow, by the way), why not just look at the person based on the personality and the image that they are portraying to the world. Do you not believe that Alicia Keys is a valuable asset to the black community in this day and age of video hoes and over generaliztions and stereotypes thrown on the black community as a whole? You should be proud to claim her as one of your own!! Alicia Keys is not selling her body to sell albums, she's not dancing half naked and shaking her ass up on an ugly azz rapper in a video, she's not out here being ignorant and dumb as hell and tryna live up to the stereotypes of "acting black". In today's Hollywood and media's dumbing down and over sexualization of black women, Alicia is classy, articulates way better than you even type, educated, sincere, gives back to the community, and just so happens to also be a VERY beautiful woman on the inside AND out.
I'm proud that we (black people) still have a few good black role models left out there in Hollywood, DESPITE their skin complexion. B/C at the end of the day, we all share the same history and ancestors. I don't hate on ANY of my black people based on complexion. Despite what "THEY" want you to believe, I think we are one of the most BEAUTIFUL group of people on Earth b/c we do come in such a wide variety. Now, I'm not going to be like the others and say you must be ugly (atleast not physicaly) based on all this hating you do in your posts, b/c I've never seen a pic and you could very well be physically beautiful. But from what I do gather, you're obviously darkskin and very proud of that. I am happy that you are b/c I do understand why you would be frustrated and dissappointed with the lack of representation of darkskin people in the media and even the world. But please learn to accept and understand that there's beauty in the lightest of the light similar to Persia White to the beautiful ebony skin of Alek Wek...and everything in between!! What other race can say they have such variety of skin complexions and facial features within their own group??

Hey slim, Actually I think Alicia is talented, not the best singer but her voice is rustic and I like that. But she, Alicia, like Beyonce,Halle,Lauren London,etc are hype. I think some people are color stuck, didn't want to bring that up, but it's so true. I can say that Cassie is pretty and light skinned, and Vanessa Williams is attractive, even Eddie Murphy's wife is pretty. But not all light is right, lol Just my 2 cents
