Tells a person close with Kimora, "She's already had a few meetings with [the broker] and I think they're ready to move forward ... [Kimora] even scheduled a trip to Ethiopia for next month."

There are needy children here in the US, but social services makes it incredibly difficult for even the most together, positive people to adopt. I know very progressive, church going, professional couples who waited for years to try to adopt before finally giving up and going overseas. The amount of hoops you have to jump through and the incredible length of time you have to wait to adopt a child here is ridiculous.
Bottom line is that she is reaching out to a child in need and giving it a better life and I give her major props for that.
And to add insult to injury... all these parentless children here in the U.S. sitting in foster care because of the domestic abuse, homelessness, and drug abuse their parents have subjected them to don't even get looked at let alone thought of twice. Everyone with a little bit of money wants to save an African child...

WELL you can't say you don't relate to Black Americans in NO WAY .... well to be literal you can say that but that doesn't make it entirely true...... you guys are well for the most part Black African and hey for the most part uh most of us are too :) lol. There will be more than 2,000 children adopted from Ethiopia this year. Two celebrities make a very small dent in that number. The majority of families that are adopting are not rich, definitely not celebrities, or people that are just following a trend. The adoption process is long, evasive, and expensive. Trust me it takes a lot more than a desire and feeling out a piece of paper.
This children are being adopted primarily by white families in completely rural areas of Omaha, Idaho, Montana, and lots of other places where there is no person of color. Really check into the situation in Ethiopia and what's happening with many of these children. If you feel it in your heart, do SOMETHING. If nothing else I'd like to see the awareness be raised in the black and brown community and more people stepping up to the plate.
