Marlo still looks wack! Dookie looks a lot "cleaner"...Greggs looks nice...and Chris still looks crazy as hell to me. Seems like he just doesn't give that mini-fro enough attention. The first episode is aight....all those who don't have ONDemand can watch it Sunday at 10p. This is one of my fav shows. Too bad this is the last season (or so they've said)
Bubbs lookin really nice! He look so f@cked up on the show that I almost didnt recognize him without his crackish look......And why they got Marlo (I 4got his real name) pic all big at the top? Oh, yeah, since Avon gone his is the HNIC on the show......dang, I miss Avon.
Everybody look real nice, cant wait till this sunday (Jan 6th, dont forget)
Andre Royo (Bubbles) is a nice looking guy. They sure know how to make him look jacked up in the movie. Sonja Sohn (Kima) looks pretty; very feminine. Clarke Peters (Lance Freeman)...that's my boy; I love his bowlegs. Domonic West (McNulty) looks the same. Lance reddick (Lt. Daniels) and the Attorney is looking awfully close there. --- I miss Stringer Bell (Idris Elba), Wee-Bay (Hassan Johnson) and Cheese (Method Man).
The Wire is a disgrace to the black community. The Wire do not need to be TV. You always will have ignorance black people who embrace music, movies and TV shows that glorify crime and degrade the black community. This show is a pathetic, where is the outraged from the educated upper middle class black community? You have the NAACP, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton going to Jena to protect the criminal charges filed against the Jena 6 thugs, but not one word of protect from them about this pathetic TV show that degrade the black community. HBO is owned by Time Warner, and Richard Parsons a black man is CEO of Time Warner and he allow this type of negative crap about black people to be on TV.
1st of this show is off da chain. 2 bad I can't see it until April...but i shall wait.
@doctorT....this is just entertainment. Not every black person is upward and mobile and not everyone can relate to the Huxtables (we can laugh with them but not relate). It is nice to see OUR Communities on the screen sometimes being that we don't ourselves on 90210, the OC, and friends (how many blacks did you see...Go ahead and think....I wait). I am not trying to say that all blacks...excuse me, all minorities live this way, but damn it feels good to see the life that I saw as a child, even if its only to remind me where I never want to be again. It is called enterainment...just like stand up comedy, blockbuster films, and sex (oops, did I just sneak that in) It is only there for your enjoyment to make you see another point of view, of life, another persons thoughts but if you don't like and your are over 18 and you own the TV you are looking at please turn the station. Not downing you, but at my age I don't need anyone telling me what I should be watching. S H I T, I see ignorant people everyday that don't stop me from getting up and going to work each day. If I don't like it I seperate myself plain and simple. If I don't like what a comedian says, I don't buy his ticket. If I don't like the lyrics of a song guess what I do....just take a guess. You got it, I don't buy the CD. Always remember that TV protrays actual events in life. If there were no ghettos then there would be no shows about the ghetto that's reality. Before everyone attacks me to ell me how wrong I am and that I am not uplifting my black people and all that other BS. Read my quote and relate to that......
Would you guys stop with the nose comments on the young guy already. Black noses come in a variety of shapes, so stop making ridiculous remarks.
Don't forget what happened to Michael Jackson. Comments about his nose drove him to excessive correction as well.
Great show - happy they are back - nuff said.
DoctorT have you ever even watched the show? There is no glorification whatsoever. The show is a real depiction of what the residents of Baltimore are experiencing. The main characters die on the show. They DIE, they go to jail. There are repercussions for their actions. Seems to be the total opposite of glorification. Maybe you should be congratulating these producers for showing us what our communities are really experiencing, instead of covering it with a blanket. Maybe instead of putting the show down, on a blog site, you should be taking the information that they give you, and try to improve your people. Because like they say, if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
-Londyn...An Educated Resident of Baltimore .
DoctorT:
The wire is called a REFLECTION of Baltimores innercity neighborhoods so if it is a disgrace to us blacks then maybe we should change it. GOOGLE the writers and creaters of this show and see what their professions were prior to this show.WHAT THEY SAW WHAT THEY WENT THRU IS WHAT IS PUT INTO THIS SHOW.. SO THE PEOPLE THAT SHOULD BE ASHAMED ARE THE ONES THAT LET THE [EXPLETIVE] GET THAT FAR...NO ONE ELSE
I am still crying cuz my baby Stringer Bell (Idris) is dead!!!! he was one sexy sneaky bastard but I loved him.
Where is Snoop? I read her book GRACE AFTER MIDNIGHT- it was pretty good.
Kema is sexy - she could get, have it and keep it! (Sorry baby- if you reading this)
I didnt grow up in this type of community but I have friends who did and I can appreciate the game. The Wire is well scripted- uses actors from the streets of Baltimore and has plenty eye candy. What more can a girl ask for???
I F*CKING LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!! I'm still sad about how they murked Bodie [they didnt have to do him like that] and even though he needs a hair cut BAD-AS-HELL Chris cleans up nice & yeah "where is Snoop", I'm not gay, but I love me some Snoop for a ummmmmm.... a bull-dyke (wow did I say that) she got dome swagger about her!!!!!!!
one of my favorite tv shows ever!!!! the sopranos was the ish but the wire came and blew it out the water black folks stuff lol kema look good than a mofo lmao@the sen. clay davis pic sheettt lol somebody said avon coming back? wanna see that marlo need to get his that mofo ruthless and he has no code or morale he a thug stringer and avon were gangsters spec stringer that nucca was the epitome of the 21st century black gangster if you gon be a gangster pattern yoself after stringer bell THINK BEFORE YOU ACT!! CHI-TOWN STAND UP CHECK OUT HISTORY CHANNELL GANGSTER CITY CHI-TOWN ALL DAY ALL NIGHT!!!
Its pretty simple. There are certain black shows that entertain black people whether it makes since or not. There are certain kinds of music that we as black seem to get into. If there is a demand for ignorance it will be supplied. I live in the dc area and I frequent bmore every now and then. Bmore , based off the show, isnt that ridiculous as the show claims. I don't know how any sane person would be proud to have their city seen in that light, that really saids very little about your city and you in general. That being said, its a show to "entertain" us. I have a friend who did a stint on the show as an extra and she is a good person. Baltimore is a city with corruption like any other urban city. The older I get I learn that its hard to "correct" people, "change" people and see through other people's eyes. Its pretty useless and a waste of time. I figure people will do and watch whatever available if "your own" people aren't seen on tv too much.
B-More in the House!!! For all you people who don't wanna see this real life story on tv please turn the channel. Each season has shown real problems that exist in our city. The game, the ports, the schools, the newspapers, the government-particularly the government is panning out just like our elections. Many here wanna drive to that county line and forget what they just left, and do. But, its as accurate as if you were sitting on the front step of a North Avenue row house. It is what it is people. The good, the bad and the ugly. A part of our city..and YES there are other parts - good parts - better parts...but The Wire is an accurate account of a part. Im not offended cause it's not my life. People only take offense when it puts light on their own lives...hmmmm something to think about. Best acting ever from the entire cast!
@Doctor T
I understand your outrage, but until we get Blacks (like you) hooked on PHONICS they will write practically illiterate messages like yours with it's incorrect usage of the English language, I am so embarassed by not only the poor TV portrayals of Blacks, but also when our people can't write correctly it reinforces that attitude that we must really live like this, so PLEASE LEARN TO READ AND WRITE before you make complaints.
