I just attended the 2008 Bet Honors in Washington, DC and the event was great! I have many stories to tell but I ran in immediately after the after party and had to let Mediatakeout know that Jill Scott was very cozy with her Why Did I Get Married costar Lamman Rucker.We liked them together in the movie, and we like them even better in real life....Also, I just saw Jill listed as #1 on his MySpace page. The two were seated together and Mr. Rucker put his hand around Jill's slimming waist prior to them walking in after Jill's performance.
Lastly, can someone ask Jill what in the hell was son important that she had to walk to her seat on her cellphone! She truly represented South Philly with that one!
Awww...cute couple!! I saw the movie special on BET with the whole cast of "WHY DID I GET MARRIED" and he sho' was doing some heavy flirtin with her on air. I can only imagine what he was saying to her behind cameras...LOL But that's what up...he knows a beautiful, intelligent, classy lady when he sees one!
Ya'll act like she's 300 pounds!! She looks just fine to me. Some of the same people pointing out her size are some of the same ones who will complain about women in Hollywood being too skinny now days. I am a true Jill Scott fan! ... Love her from the first cd to the last and in all her transitions as an artist. As her popular record states "HATE ON ME" hater! she says it all to you guys who feel otherwise about her other than her happiness and her blessings. Jill is one of those artist and women that capsizes the truth about herself and her experiences, which is also how and where her beautiful music is created and based on. I respect her, feel her and love her truth, realness, and creativity unlimited!!! ... Go Jill and As I've seen the flirtation on the Tyler Perry's talk show on tv one. All of you who are hating on her size and saying that he downgraded- whatever. She is a big girl, but whats wrong with that. She might be healthy. Yea, yea- it could cause a health problem, but apparently it hasn't. She looks good and she loves herself-so leave it alone.
And Mr.Rucker has stated OPENLY that he is feeling her and wants to date her and get to know her a lot better. I believe that they probably are dating. I am not mad either because that brother is the business!!!!!
Tyler Perry broke this news back when he had a special on TV one for the release of the movie Why Did I get Married. All the cast was on the show and he said that Lemmon and Jill had been inseperable since the filming of the movie. and Malik Yoba had to except that Janet Jackson was not his wife in real life

She was the fattest one on stage, I was embarrassed for her. She's a mess. She looked very uncomfortable. In addition to that her attitude sucks!!!!!

My opinion... She may be a big woman, but she wears it well. Not everyone is supposed to wear a size 4 on down. America has programmed everyone to think that fat= unhealthy and nasty, and it's just NOT TRUE. We humans come in different shapes and sizes. Just because you're carrying weight on you doesn't mean you're supposed to get on the phone immediately and call Jenny.
I find Jill to be extremely beautiful. I love her. I've been a fan of hers for years, but after seeing her on Dave Chappelle's Block Party, I would kill for the chance to see her perform live. Her performance with Erykah Badu brought tears to my eyes, and I still can't explain why. Beautiful performance.
In short, all I'm saying is fat or skinny, man or no man, Jill Scott is a bad b*tch, no if's, and's or maybe's. If nothing else, just listen to her music. Her music is art in rare form. She's definitely the business.

I just had to log in to post my reply yo some of your comments because they are ridiculous! First off just because she is overweight doesnt meant that she is on the verge of death! People kill me talking about a person isnt healthy beacause of their extra weight when the very people talking probally eat unhealthy and drink like guppies but arent fat. STOP! (and Im a slim person by the way) And for those who says that Jill hasnt lost any weight are wrong! She is alot smaller than what she was. And to the person who said she needs more stability in her life...WHO ARE YOU?? Just because she got divorced and is dating doesnt hardly make her unstable. I commend her for doing that and not being depressed over her divorce. And last but not least, just because the brother is SUPER FINE and she is a big girl doesnt mean that it is true love. Lamman has a longtime girlfriend and she is absolutely georgeous. I know them personally, and they have been seen in NYC together on more than a few occassions. Jill is cool and all, but she can't hold a candle to his girl. As a matter of fact I believe that Jill should seek her services, due to the fact that she is a personal trainer to the stars in NYC. He may go to events with people like her, Toccarra, etc. for PR, but they are not in a relationships. Lamman is a very good friend to many woman, and it's genuine. His girlfriend has always understood this about him.
