Why is it always an issue? A loyal friend directed me earlier to a blog entry on MediaTakeOut.com, and initially I hesitated to even look at it based on where it was posted. However curiosity got the best of me. So I go to the site, and click on the heading, and there it was...hating!!!Well now you know how it feels to have a celebrity lash out against you...Its a shame, if you all were to check out the photographs, you'll clearly see that I am fully dressed. Now before, you'd probably catch them posting pics of me only from pictorial mags or my personal webpage, in which the photo's are pretty seductive, and I can understand why people are not always trying to see that, but these pics are different. I was invited to do a live radio broadcast for a very respectable and creditable event and award show, the urban wheel awards. I show up fully dressed with a coke and a smile, yet and still they hating on me being fully dressed. The problem is not the opinions but the disrespectful nature of a hater type comments. Why is it always black women hating on black women?!!!
Yall I am trying my hardest to grow and become something greater than that that is expected of me. How will I ever get better if im always being knocked down...that hurts. One person asked, "why she turned around in one of her photos"? Well google awards shows, and look at other the stars and their pics, photographers always get a shot from the front and from the back! My dress had a special design on the back in which the photographer asked for a shot of, not my ass. So many people are so busy concentrating on ways to hate or be hateful, that you didnt even notice the design on the back. Nonetheless, I respect the fact that we are all entitled to our opinions, but please c'mon with the evil, unnecessary bullshit!!! (pardon my language) and for the haters that want to know why Im listed as a celebrity, well its because you keep on speaking my name!!! As long as you talk, my checks will continue to walk...straaaaaaaight to the bank!!!
We should be proud of each other, and try building one another empires. If we don't build each other, no one else will. Personally I like Deelishis, I wanted her to win from the start on Flava of Love and I think she has a nice personality (not to mention she has a SUPER bad ass body, no homo).
But people can express their opinions and I think it's unfair to single out ONE GROUP entirely; I'm a black woman and that puts me in that group. I don't hate on other black women; never have and never will but I will OPENLY express my opinion about something when I want.

Deelishes presented herself a certain way on the show. Granted they had the dance contests where she shook her behind- but what girl doesn't do that in a club or on a dance floor. This woman has a daughter that is at an age where she can understand these things. What happens when her daughter goes to school and gets made fun of because people are calling their mother a slut. I think he starting her own clothing line is great- she should stick to that. But the half naked and naked modeling isn't needed. She can get modeling gigs with her being fully clothed. She has a nice shape- I know of many agencies that would want her. There is nothing wrong with modeling- but some of the pictures she had flying around the net are inappropriate for a mom. The Internet is wayy too convenient and her daughter will see those pictures one day.

Ms. D You have a right to do what you want. But you should remember there are consequences to everything, good or bad. If you make a choice to present your body and yourself in an overtly sexual way, that is fine for you but don't get mad because the way your present yourself gets talked about by others who don't appreciate it.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. You don't have to agree with it. You don't have to like it, but they have a right to it just as you have a right to pose any way you want to in photos.
The main thing that disturbs me is that you profess God in your life in a lot of your blogs yet the way you present yourself does not show Christ in you at all. Your body is the temple of God. How can God dwell there when you use it in the manner that you do? If you profess God in your life then when people see you they should see God in you and everything that you do. If you profess God's help in your life then you would trust Him to provide for you without having to sell your body in that way. There is nothing Godly about that. You cannot serve two masters sweetness.
I think you are a beautiful person and you can do much better than what you are doing now. You are an intelligent woman and can set a better example for your daughter if you choose to do so.
Whatever path you choose to take, just remember that there is always going to be someone who does not like it or agree with it and has their own opinion to voice about it. If you feel secure in the choices that you are making for your life and that you are right in how you choose to live and make a living, then don't worry about what others are saying. Be true to you. But if you are living in the spotlight - you have to deal with the glare as well.

I think the issue maybe the fact that after London did Flavor of Love all of her eyecandy pics came out everywhere. To let everyone know, alot of the "lil to no clothes" pics were done well before she was ever on that show, I know I use to model for eyecandy myself. So when they all come out everyone thinks she went from being a lady to being a half-naked "hoe". That's on her if she wants to explain that to eveyone that's hatin or not or if she even gives a damn who knows. sosincere I appreciate your opinion because after all all of this are opinions negative or positive. However, the point I was making is that many of us strive to be financially successful, many have achieved it in less than positive ways. Many start out in ways that everybody might not agree with, but if they have a goal and achieve that goal they use their assets, and resources to go legit. Ok, here is my opinion! I dont know you, therefore, I can only judge you from what I see. On the Flava of Love, you seemed like you were very classy and didnt fall into to that category with the rest of the girls. You seemed to lay low and was very concious about how you were portrayed. That is why alot of women were backing you on the show. It was good to see a woman of your statue on one of the most "low class" shows on TV. But after the show ended, it seems as though your whole demeanor has changed. Everytime I see a picture of you, you have your butt tooted in the air, or you are half naked. It's because of you and your always judging women by their body parts. I never hear a black man say something about a women's soul, her intensity, or intelligence, etc. - it's always "wow, look at that booty!" or some other reference to a women's body parts. I respect the fact that she feels that people are hating on her but I am just giving my opinion. She was very quick to say someone was an opportunist on the show when she was herself. I don't really know what to say about this story because I happen to like Deelishis because I personally think she's pretty. A few people asked me how does it affect me well it is affecting society I was reading an aricle in USA today about rap and sex and teen violence against women has increased by 25%. I am a youth director at my church and it it is an uphill battel getting these young men to understand what a women really is and how they are to be treated. I think you are the one getting the two terms confused.
