: Earlier today MediaTakeOut.com reported that Janet Jackson was scheduled to be performing at the Grammy's Awards show next month. Well it turns out we were wrong.
Janet's representative, Patti Webster, told MediaTakeOut.com that Janet will NOT be performing at the awards show. Tells Webster, "Right now, Janet's focusing on the release of her new album Discipline. While she may attend the Grammys, she will not be performing."

Janet is already an ICON in her own right. I think she needs to just pass that torch and bow out gracefully. [EXPLETIVE] have kids with Monkey MOUSE (Jermain Dupree)--- get married, get a new hobby...or something. Janet is and ICON whether you peeps like it or not. The Beyonce's and Brittany's would be having a hard time if it wasn't for her. Some of you must be to young to remember Rythym Nation, Escapade, Pleasure Principle, Control, Black Cat, Again, If, That's the Way Love Goes...I could go on and on. I am 26 and I recognize Janet's game. Her dancing is one of a kind and yes the new chick's are taking it to the next level but you can't run to the future without apprecating the past. She's like the only one who can sing and dance at the same time unlike others. BTW The writers are not picketing the Grammy's so the show is going on as scheduled. Beyonce and whoever else is going can do so since the writer's gave the o.k.
Aside from the questionable choices in producers, lack of innovation, bad singles and even worse videos(with Nelly...horrible!)over the past several albums, my main problem problem with Janet is I don't like to be teased and lied to.
Janet has always lacked the courage of her convictions...meaning, she wants to portray herself as this sexually-adventurous, uninhibited, fiercely-independent woman. When, in actuality, she doesn't hold a candle to Angelina Jolie, Madonna, or even a train wreck like Britney Spears! The thing that ultimately separates them from Janet is one thing...they are unapologetic. Do you think that any of these women would have apologized so profusely for that Super Bowl incident as Janet has...especially when it was obviously something that they MEANT TO DO?! JUST LIKE JANET DID!! That was no @#$!@#$ 'malfunction'! Who walks out with one of JD's hubcaps on their titty and says it was an accident?! I'm SOOOOOOO unbelievably sick of that whole incident being called a 'wardrobe malfunction', when the evidence is plainly visible that it wasn't!! If everybody could stop drooling over her nipple, you could PLAINLY SEE that the cup in Justin's hand only has red trim sewn across the top...where's the red bra to go with it, Janet?!
To this day, I've never seen an interviewer or a website, take her to task over this obvious piece of evidence. They just keep tossing her softball questions to appease her seemingly fragile demeanor. Is it just me, or does it seem like when she gives televised interviews, she might just spontaneously combust if you ask her the wrong question?! lol
Janet never does anything controversial all the way...she just HINTS at it. X-rated tattoo? Subtle hint. Bisexuality? Subtle hint. HBO concert with several cameras watching her change costumes in her dressing room...blurred or edited the revealing shots. What's the point of showing everything to some dork camera guys...but not to the people you were trying to turn on IN THE FIRST PLACE?! Madonna stood naked on the side of the road hitch-hiking while smoking a cigarette, stuck her tongue down Britney's throat, posed naked with Big Daddy Kane and Naomi Campbell in a threesome.
Angelina Jolie wore vials of blood around her neck, was matter-of-fact about her relations with other women, kissed her brother in a photo-shoot.
Britney Spears...uh...nuff said!!
The point is, none of them were sorry about what they've done...they were sorry if YOU WERE OFFENDED...but they were NEVER sorry that they did what they did...and that's the problem that I have with Janet. Have some @%$&*@# balls!! I would never apologize to the puritans in this country!! I've seen women walk down the streets naked in the Netherlands eating ice cream and barely get attention! They even have naked people in the damn commercials in Europe...yet this woman was castigated for showing a damn nipple?!

There is definite truth in a lot of what you say, but I believe that its not as simple as you make it out to be. Justin AND Janet disrespected themselves by apologizing in the first place! With my voice I could make Jennifer Lopez sound like Whitney Houston lol. So their voices sound good to me. Beyonce aint the best singer her older work was better when she was with Destiny's Child.
