A beard is a woman who serves to cover up the homosexuality of a male celebrity or otherwise noteworthy guy. A merkin is a man who does the same for a woman. (Merkins used to be worn by women in Europe back in the day. Merkin is a toupee for the vagina.)
She is def good-looking in a way that is not the generic. Being John Legend has its perks.
Is this news because John Legend found a woman who is just as short as he is (5'3)?
--------------------------------------------------- Maybe we should wait for help from Bush or Jesse Jackson and Operation PUSH. If you ask me the whole thing needs a douche, a massengil, what the hell, crack will sell in the neighborhood!!!
SugarMami Flag post WHY BRAZILIAN WOMEN GOTTABE EXOTIC...IM BLACK AND IM EXOTIC LOOKIN DAMMIT...YALL KILL ME WITH THAT SHYT
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why is John gay? Where did these rumors come from, seriously? No fan but is every celeb gay, damn, lol. She's a pretty cutie. @sugar, I feel you. They, society call call every race beautiful except black women in general. Like every race of women except us can be sex symbols. If we are sex symbols, we have to be mixed or light or have 'non-negroid features.' Trust me, Brazilians are cool people but not all of them are exotic or hot. And Black women can be exotic, we just don't get shine. I have been called exotic, weird though because I always felt I'm black. See how society can brainwash yoy if you don't pay attn?
@Anamon-You are right but do you think a lot of them will accept/admit the fact they have black in them? Let me ask you or this q is for anyone to,Do you think Trindadians are black? My girl's man is trindadian, and he is dark skinned w/ curly hair. But he doens't consider himself black at all, just trindadian or mixed. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't they black?
lol I guess. Hmmmm he went to Brazil got a model girlfriend and she looks like a cute little Asian??? Brazil has some very exotic looking women but hmmm okay she is an improvement from what I would expect from a Brotha. I see a lot exotic African American women but maybe the black folks and the media are to busy calling them video hoes and having them up in everybodies face doing gross things.
WHEN will the day come when a man can wear clothes that don't hang off his ass, speak and spell properly, choose NOT to hit all the "skins" (taking most of you back with that one!)that he can get his hands on AND still be considered a man and not a homo????? I mean, I don't know if Legend is "how you doin" or NOT but SO MANY people these days are quick to call a Man who doesn't look, dress, or act like most a homo!!! KNOCK IT OFF already!!! OK i realize that some of them are BUT MOST of them aren't. I just think Legend is a "herb" who happens to sing well and was propelled to stardom b/c of it...doesn't mean he's gay...
Well stated badboy,
I love how our black culture and mostly, our black women, rush to call a black man gay because he has the audacity to think or dress outside the box. You know there was actually a time when a man who carried himself like John Legend was not only thought of as a "manly man" but little boys would aspire to be like him when they became men. Black folks are natural born haters, which is why you only hearing us doing this, combine the fact that a large percentage of us are afraid to go against the grain because they're a bunch of padussies and you get the source of this angst. Word to the haters, hypocrites and probably phags: John Legend is famous, you're not. Sucks, doesn't it? I'm proud that John Legend represents us black men in a very positive light.
badboy, I don't give a phuck what these ignorant arse idiots in here (see fuknowlovlater) have to say about me. I know what I am and trust me, I'm getting chicks hotter than any gay-bashing negro in here, so they can call me what they want. In fact, calling me gay wouldn't be a problem at all, at least gay people know what they are. I find it odd that a person could summon so much hate against a gay person who's never did a thing to him. Closet homos like fuknowlovlater hate on John Legend because that n***a pulled a chick he COULD NEVER PULL. So let them call names all they want.
@ brutallyhonest I agree with u.. but resent the fact that u say "mostly black women". Them pants saggin 4X tee wearin black men do it just as much i.e. Beanie Siegel... if not more. It may seem like more here bc of course more black women visit this site. Anyway.. they look nice.. he better tighten up that watch though.
@600 Pounds- I am Trini and unfortunatly, you will find that ideology amongst some Trini's. In particualr, Trinidadian Indians, Spanish, Chinese and White (a mass population of Indian and Chinese migrated to Trinidad after slavery was abolished and during the early 20th in order to work, for the most part, as indentured servants) will consider themselves Trinidadian or Spanish/Indian/Chinese even though, through marriages and reproduction, they have black in them. It's all very sad. Until very recently, my own mother didn't consider herself an African- Trinidadian with slave origins from Africa, just Trinidadian.
Like I said, def. not generalizing all Trinis but there are some (mostly Indian, Chinese, or Spanish) that DO have black in them but dont consider themselves black, only Trini.
Brutally Honest-- I love hearing that coming from a black man. Still, in these day and age, one is considered a sell out if they come to work and behave in a professional manner, speak the King's English, and don't have weave/exposed tattoos/ claw-like nails/ etc. It's so sad that it's 2008 and people still think that IGNORANCE IS BLISS! Makes me very, very worried about the generations to come.
On yesterday's thread one woman had the nerve to be proud that she "brings the ghetto side of her out at work" and had the nerve to think that her bosses "respected her more" for that. I had to laugh out loud at work. I work on Wall Street and woman like that, yes, they're nice to them to their face but once we're in the conference room with the door closed... wow!
@ Brutally Honest, I have to co-sign with you...
It shows how completely ass backwards and lost black people are as a race that we ridicule and dismiss a black man who carries himself with class and dignity as being gay, yet we praise and exalt someone who acts like a walking stereotype and acts thugged out and ignorant as being a "real man"...
With those attitudes, no wonder our youth are lost.

Well, looking at this from a rather unique vantage point, I'd like to throw another possibility that seems to go completely undiscussed within the friendly(?) confines of the MTO message boards concerning gay or possibly gay celebrities:
Maybe he's BISEXUAL???
I say this because I, myself, am bisexual...and because of my personal, metrosexual style, I've been called 'John Legend' by some of our intellectually-challenged brethren as some sort of primitive attempt to demean me...especially when they have a few gut-bucket skanks hanging around, trying to impress them! I do find it very interesting, however, when the n****s aren't around...the skanks are ALL IN MY GRILL! Looking all "How yooou doin'?! lol
As crass and asinine as these insults have been, ironically, they are not that far from the truth. John and I do share remarkably similar tastes in fashion, hairstyles, and, yes...women, which was the focal point of this latest, unwarranted MTO assault!
I see a lot of myself in John(go ahead...I KNOW how that sounds!:), so, I too have had my thoughts about his preferences...just not using the same moronic criteria for making those assessments. So, MTO, bisexuals DO exist...and I believe that John is probably bisexual...unlike Eddie Murphy, who I believe to be an angry homosexual. Angry at his belief that he is "trapped" in the heterosexual persona that he has created for himself...so angry that he drives away every woman that he gets involved with.
And even if John is indeed bisexual, my instincts tell me he prefers women...just as I do. And I hope that he is as equally upfront about his sexuality, as I am, as well. Women, to their credit, have been remarkably open-minded about my revelation...as have quite a few brothers(Yes, they're straight!).
I usually get, " I thought something was up, but I didn't wanna say," all the way to, "Oooooohh, I knew it was a reason you were always so sharp! Now you can go shopping with me and help me pick out some clothes and make-up and..."! And that's when I have to jump in and say,"Whoa...slow down, ma...this ain't an episode of 'Queer Eye'!" I have to get like B.I.G., "If it's alright with you...we f****n'!" lmao! And for those wondering, I'm a one woman/man type of guy...never both. Unless the two are Halle and Gabriel, Brad and Angelina...or Tei & John, for that matter! :)
I try to have a sense of humor about my lot in life...because if you don't, you'll find yourself eating a bullet for breakfast or wearing a necktie with a matching chandelier. I'm sure I'll get my fair share of derision from the populace here about my admission, but its the truth...and that's all I know how to give.
At the end of the day, regardless of John's orientation, all that REALLY MATTERS is this: Is the brother happy?! That's all we should really care about...same as we'd want for ourselves.
But it's never that simple, is it?
