: MediaTakeOut.com has learned that R&B singer Houston Summers is in some more trouble. As you may recall, Houston made news a few years ago for gouging out his eye during a violent mental breakdown (see photo below - for the uncensored pic, click here)).
And now according to one of our faithful readers, Houston's homeless and living on the streets of Los Angeles. Here's a Myspace bulletin that was sent to our reader:
Hello Saints, My name is Houstina Summers - sister of Capitol recording artist Houston Summers.Dang. Thats messed up.... Members of the Media - If you directly or indirectly use information in this article, you must credit MediaTakeOut.com.I'm screaming out for prayer on behalf of my Brother who is too wounded to pray for himself. He prayed for healing for himself and I watched as God took heed and began to heal my Brother. However, in late 2007 the storm grew worse.
At the time my Mother and fifteen year old Sister was living with my Brother. My mother was in between Jobs and Houston’s royalty checks grew slim. Eventually they were evicted.
So, my Step dad took them in only to be rushed to the hospital a couple of days later. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer and they two were evicted.
It was too much for my Brother and now he is sleeping on the streets of Los Angeles. He has turned to drinking and smoking as his comfort. I believe that God has a plan for him and will bring all of us out into victory.
Yesterday my Mom and I scanned the inner streets of Los Angeles to find a broken Houston leaping down the rainy streets. We found him cold, hungry and dirty. He didn’t want to come with us because he is afraid we are going to admit to a mental to hospital.
He ran away from us and has been missing for two day. Please Pray, PLEASE!! Houston is a very special person and we can’t give up on him.

He was homeless before he got his deal, now he's homeless again. That shyt with the eye gouging thing was terrible. I remember everybody thought it was Marques Houston. Some people get a lil money and fame and dont know what to do with it...buying drugs and other shyt to fit in with the celebs. Poor Houston...I hope he gets some help.

This is the music biz and the strenth of some people who get into this biz. He's really in need of God. He's always been searching for his place with God. He came out with the cd, and it just killed him that he was doing secular music...but did it anyway probably cause of the money and I'm sure cause he just wanted to. Who wouldn't if the oppertunity was presented? But these people that don't know how to move on, or handle themselves is dangerous. Look at homeboy from Milli Vanilli...I wouldn't have been embarrassed at all to have been exposed as a fake when I was homeless on the streets and get asked to lip sing. Only God can save him within.

thank you Gossip Freak... I was going to post something up when I got a min. MTO always misleading people or just telling a bold face lie. He was sick before he became famous. Not taking meds and drugs is what led him to taking his eye out. It was not fame that made him like this. He has an illness. I hope his fam dont give up on him. And Greedybtch its not that easy as some may think.. Me and my fam are going thru the same thing with my aunt. Its not easy yal. They have to commit themself. But its like how can they if they are not in the right mind state. System is all fcked up
@ guiltypleasure, Thats kinda harsh what you said. This sister is obviously at her wits end trying to help her brother out. What she is doing is showing her brother someone out here still loves him. I have never heard of this artist , but I will pray for him. I know you all have read the story on here with the gospel singer being healed of aids through prayer, GOD can bring this mans right state of mind back too!

What you keep in the dark comes to light, a statement in which weve all heard and probably have used once or multiple times. However, when were actually in a situation in which the truth is distorted or hidden, is it really better to know? Or should we follow the proposal of Mario Winans of not wanting to know?
In a previous and highly controversial note Power of the P-U-S-S-Y I stated that both men and women cheat, however, I went on to elaborate on the different reasons leading to their infidelities. Women, I said, cheat for a legitimate reason; because we are in search of fulfillment when things in our relationship are continuously neglected. Meanwhile, men cheat because they fall victim of a womans ultimate power Her [EXPLETIVE].
Within this past week, Ive held several conversations with a male individual who states and stands by the statement, it is in a mans nature to be with more than one woman. Scratching my head in utter confusion and divergence, I ask him to elaborate. He then goes on to tell me:
There is no such thing as a loyal or faithful man. A man controls his actions [infidelities] when he feels he has something he doesnt want to compromise or jeopardize in compensation for his actions; may it be a wife, his family, etc. Although a man may choose to control his infidelities, it doesnt affect the fact that its in his nature to be with more than one woman, thus, any man who isnt gay or is in his right mind are not exempt and will at some point think about it [another woman].
Still a little thrown off and curious to get a second mans opinion, I write my good friend Latavious asking him his perspective on this statement. His response, It's human nature to indulge in carnal desires. It's human nature to be selfish, and to lust and want something that doesn't belong to them. So in that sense yes, I agree. But it's in a woman's nature also.
Is it really in a womans nature to be with more than one man? Using Latavious perspective to challenge that of Man X, I get the following response; If dick was in a womans nature, this place [the world] would be chaotic. If women loved sex and thought about sex as much as men, thered hardly be any relationships. Women are negative, men are positive, and the two opposites attract. To love sex and think about it a lot is not in a womans nature.
Again I scratch my head. I know a few women who love sex and think about it a lot [I plead the fifth lol]. So why is it too not in a womans nature? Of course Man X has an answer for this as well.
Women have sex because they feel like it or are in the mood. Women have sex to satisfy their man or have a reason to do it. On the contrary, its automatic for men. Men dont have to know the girl or her name. Its simply in a mans nature. Being emotional is a womans nature; being sensitive, wanting affection, and nurturing. Women are natural nurturers.
So here I am now sitting at my laptop, my mind swarming with questions, thoughts, and utter confusion. I now second guess the views discussed and argued in my previous note Power of the P-U-S-S-Y. Do men cheat because they are weak and fall victim to a womans [EXPLETIVE]? Or do men cheat simply because it is in their nature?
Is it a fact that because we cannot think like men, understand and interpret like men, or relate to men completely [because we are women] that we dont believe it is a mans nature to be with more than one woman? If you know your history, you know weve all derived from Africa, the Mother Land. You know that polygamy is and has always been practiced here. Have we fallen victim to western world teachings declaring one man to one woman is right and anything different is wrong?
Who am I to say? Im just one woman and Ill be damned if my man is running around creeping with another woman. And thats why I say:
If it is a mans nature to be with more than one woman, then leave me in the dark before a crime comes to light!

Not trying to sound stuck up but a lot of people,especially black folks don't understand mental illness. Instead of trying to be compassionate, we in general tend to treat them like monsters or criminals. People don't choose to be sick so have just a lil' more compassion. It could be your mother or your friend or lover. Because life has no gurantees. My best friend has bi-polar and it's hard for her, and her family to deal with it. Even though she's medicated now, it's not like it disappears. It's something to deal w/ daily. Medicine just supresses symptoms, it actually doesn't treat the sickness. I feel bad for him as a huma being, and I hope God or whoever blesses him n' his family.

Clearly everbody's not equipped to handle the stresses that come from dealing with the entertainment industry.
Especially if you don't have a strong 'core' group of people around you to help keep you grounded. It is how and why so many young, up and coming artists surrender to drugs and alcohol.
We all need and benefit from strong foundations. Foundations be it a strong friend network or a strong family network that allow us to deal with and handle stress and pressure that people with weaker foundation may not be able to.
This is truly a sad story but it's not the end. Not Yet. So when you wonder why his sister exposed him as some say...think about it like this...Would you have known about him and his situation/illness otherwise?
She sounds concerned and desperate at this point. Just as you would if you were in her position. Have some compassion, people. Damn!

That muhfukka crazy no doubt... I remember as a student @ Langston University, Houston came to do a performance in the summer of 2004... U know when he had that banger... "I like that"... w/ Nate Dogg and Chingy... Well anyhoo this crazy muhfukka had on a big ass chinchilla coat, sweating and [EXPLETIVE], in hot ass 110 degree Oklahoma summer weather. He was hella musty and we was like, do the nukka got bipolar or something? He walked around w/ no bodyguards or entourage, hugging random people and asking people to take pictures with him. His behavior was just odd... and surely enough, shorty after he gouged out his eye...

Actually, most people with an abnormal illness connected to personality disorders do not think anything is wrong with them, therefore they will not seek treatment. Although it is hard to watch someone you love go through schizo behavior, antisocial (no, not that kind of antisocial), and the like without getting them help; the only way they can be committed besides themselves is if they are a threat to themselves or others. Truly, it is an unsettling situation because our streets are filled with people whose mental state is questionable at best.
