: MediaTakeOut.com got word that there's a new southern rapper called Big Koon. Them Souther rappers boy ... sometimes they make you just wanna ...
Big Koon?
Uhh...Now I know we shouldn't bring each other down as black people in the struggle but dammit, this solidifies why I think southern rappers are ignorant asses.
WHO THE FCK NAMES THEMSELVES BIG KOON? Do they know they know the defination behind it? The colloquial meaning behind it? Ugh...
Southerners, I got respect for yall but please if they aren't Outkast or Ludacris tell your rappers to put the mic down.
BTW, If there's a MC Shuck N' Jive coming from Atlanta next week I'm fcking someone up.
What do you expect from down south? A bunch of racist rednecks still thought it was okay to hange nooses in Jena, so why should we be shocked? I remember seeing Confederate Flags in rap videos, huh? That slave mentality still exists in certain parts of the country. The only difference between up here and down there is while my people up here act like koons sometimes, those country bumpkins actually call themselves koons. and you wonder why a Democrat can't win a Southern State. disgusting...
But hey, you guys keep dancing and snapping your fingers...have fun.
@ Brutally Honest
Man, you are preaching....
Have you guys heard Soulja Boy's new song report? Tawkin bou' sum put sum D's on my repor car' mayne.
That shyt is really ignorant. They have nothing meaningful to rap about and they stay on that slave mentality. I'm still mad at that Trick Daddy video where he was eatin greasy fried chicken with his car all rimmed out...just pure ignorance. Setting us back 400 years.
Not suprised at all......Rap Music nowadays has become a damn Minstrel show....Big Business is pimping us out and turning us into a damn Sambo Shoot......Every Month there is a New Sambo coming out with a New Tune to make N1ggas snap there fingers and dance to......They look for every stereotype in the book to Plaster out there for the World to see....Back in the days Brothers were dropping Knowledge like PE, KRS-One, Rakim, Jungle Brothers, X-clan, Brand Nubians etc...When NWA came out with F@ck the police and ICE T came out with Cop KIller... that was it....the Government came in and took over...then it went to..lets kill each other rap...Lets get High and drunk rap... then drug dealing rap...then Playerism...Pimpism..sell my p*ssy rap...Now to straight Shucking and Jiving.......When The F@ck are we going to wake up and stop drinking of this cup of N1ggerism.......
@ Cornbredfeed THANK YOU... sometimes it's good to do your research before judging someone...look at the spelling it's KOON, not Coon, it's a last name, he's not calling himself a Ni99ger!!!!!! And for everyone making comments saying ALL black people down south are this and that, and stuck in slave mode, that is SO NOT TRUE and you all are stereotyping us just like white people put stereotypes on us ALL. Plus southern hip hop is taking over right now, so for everyone saying it's all wack it's obviously a sh1t load of people from ALL over that feels differently!!!!
THAT SHYT IS UNACCEPTABLE. ITS A DARN 'COON SHOW' IS WHAT IT IS. THEY ARE NOT THINKING. I DONT GIVE A DAMN IF THEY ARE FROM THE SOUTH I HAVE FAMILY FROM MY SOUTH LIKE MOST BLACK FOLKS AND THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL YOU WILL GET THEM TO CALL THEMSELVES COONS. DR KING AND MALCOM X ARE ROLLING OVER IN THEIR GRAVES. WE NEED TO TEACH THESE KIDS BETTER. I WISH SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME A COON, MAMMIE, PICINNY... HES SO SAD U CAN SEE HIS FUTURE...NO WHERE
Okay, first off, if it is the dude to the left whose calling himself Big Koon, he looks to be damn near 35 years old, if he isn't already. At 35, you stupid behind should know better.
However, SOME of those southerners think that stupid shyt is cool and I'm not surprised by this. When I lived in Atlanta for the four years I was there, I was SHOCKED to see how those young kids are. GONE are the days of the respect that I had to show my Great-Grandmother when I visited in Savannah and Atlanta. NEVER did I hear a Yes Ma'am or No Ma'am come out of their mouths. But when I was coming up and was down there I showed RESPECT for my elders.
These young kids - and hell even the older ones - just don't give a [EXPLETIVE] about respect for anybody and that's because they don't have it for themselves. So how the hell you expect them to refpect the next person? And that's not just down south that's everywhere.
SELF ESTEEM; RESPECT FOR YOURSELF; LOVING YOURSELF
A lot of us have lost that; therefore we're a lost people in and amongst ourselves.
@jakey natey
Listen up clueless, no one is hating the south. What we do hate on is ignorant, shuckin and jive, steppin fetchit hip hop, which coincidentally comes from the south. Don't get upset at the facts. Outside of a few thought-provoking artists like Outkast, Ludacris and maybe even T.I., the south is full of simpletons who have zero creativity and even less lyrical ability. I'm for quality hip hop REGARDLESS OF WHERE IT COMES FROM. Let me educate your narrow-minded bumpkin azz for a minute: when the records execs realized that could sell bullchit music down south and that all you fresh off the plantation negroes would buy it, they started ignoring other regions. It happened with the West Coast in the early 90's, the only difference is that West Coast hip hop provides social commentary, somethin rarely seen down south. All you cornbread eating negroes are interested in is snapping your fingers, shaking your asses and voting Republican. So enjoy your time honey, just like everything else, the industry will find another set of dummies (which will be white people by the way) to sell a below-average product.
Thanks lusil, the truth can be a sore subject for those either too dumb or too blind to embrace it. The South should be seen as a beacon of change for all it went through during the civil rights era, yet it has become a national embarrassment. I'll say it again: You have all those black people per capita down south yet a Democrat can't win ONE state? It's because young black adults down south too busy shakin asses to spark change and those gutless spineless black baptist preachers fall in line with so-called "Republican party values" yet half the flock can't get a job and nooses are being hung out back. It's utterly disgusting and it's reflected in the piss poor music that comes from the region.
I got better names for him: how about sleep-n-eat, neckbones & rice, Uncle Ben, Little Nígger Jim, Porch Monkey G, Shoeshine, Cotton Pickin!!!
The list goes on and on.
-------------------------------------------------- Mo money means litigating mo playa hatin, Got a cell at the penn for me waitin', is this my fate?
No billybob, there is a "we" and the "we" is the consumer. I don't care how many white boys buy hip hop, if we didn't buy it there would be a significant difference. I could start all types of conscious labels with great artists, but if the public doesn't buy it then it won't be around long enough to matter. Power can be in one but it also needs help, too many negroes buy the bullchit and not enough buy the real.
brutally honest, well until you start your label and figure out how to make conscious music palatable to the public again then you are just a whiner. white folks make it palatable in the early 90's with Public Enemy, Native Tongues, De La Soul, etc.,so we know it can be done.you now have your mission.and i will bargain with you for ms. afghanistan, i must have her in my harem.
@brutally honest
It seems like the pococurantism is increasing among African-Americans as far as how we depict ourselves as a people, especially with how we express ourselves to society through the arts. With that being said I totally agree with you in some aspects of your statement but I'm quite offended by the choice of words you used to describe southern born and/or raised African-Americans. I actually read the piece that Jakey Natey wrote as well and I see why you responded the way you did because obviously that person is a bit small-minded. Yet I get slightly offended when generalizations are made based off of notions you've gathered through negative content portrayed by the media throughout the years. For example, "fresh off the plantation Negroes" and "voting Republican" pierced through me like a blade. I am a proud New Orleanian and a proud independent who votes for Democratic candidates. I don't know who told you that we(Southern African-Americans) vote Republican. Trust me when you see those Southern states light up red on November 4, 2008..........That will definitely be caused by a large conservative Caucasian majority that is still prominent in the south......
P.S. I hope that my statement has not offended you in any shape, form, or fashion; just expressing my feelings towards the issues at hand.
Another P.S. to this article - Mister BIG KOON really needs to watch "BAMBOOZLED".........enough said
And P.S. to everyone else on this site - Please participate in this year's primary election process regardless if you are supporting Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton.
@ Brutally Honest; I totally agree with everything your saying, however in regards to this individual's name, it really is a last name he was referring to. If everyone can recall for example, one of the cops who beat Rodney King was named Stacey Koon, also there is a famous asian entertainer whose last name is Koon. But with everything else you said I agree with you. P.S. Ms_Afghanistan2008; I bet you are gorgeous under the veil, I see many Afghanis in Dearborn,Michigan ... you are very beautiful women to bad your men horde them all for themselves but at the same time they bang black women, I just found out my father was not white, but Pakistani and of course my mother is black, long long story, I'm still finding out more.
raen, if I offended you in any way I am profoundly sorry. It's not that I feel southerners actually vote GOP, I feel they're not voting at all, which is basically a vote for the GOP. When I make those statements, they are obviously not meant for an intelligent woman like yourself, you are the exception in my eyes, not the rule. I've seen it first hand, through my dealing with blacks from down south while in the military and my frequent visits down there. I'm just calling it as I see it, but it is my view and my view can't be taken for the entire south. I agree, I'm supporting Obama for Change!!
I agree 100% with BrutallyHonest! We let the media dictate to us what's hot. And we are doing EXACTLY what they want us to do....look & sound like idiots, brag about drug dealing, being "hood rich", etc. Wasn't it MTO the other day that said like 90% of black households have no bank account? They allow us to get rich, but never to get wealthy, and we have no idea of what that(wealthy) even means. It's one thing to be proud of yourself, it's another thing to just be ignorant to the fact that you're looked at as slow, unworthy, blind, and stupid by the OWNERS of our society.
If he indeed is using the name because it is a name, ok. But really. The truth still remains that WE need to take a stand and change the course of RAP MUSIC(there's a difference between rap & hip-hop). It's nobody's fault but our own. If you take the beats away from most of these "hot" RAP songs nowadays, or what the media demands to be hot....? All they are sayin is: "WE ARE PROUD TO BE GHETTO, WE DON'T WANT SH*T OF OUR OWN, WE WILL ALWAYS BE SLAVES, WE'LL JUST LIVE FOR TODAY, WHO CARES ABOUT TOMORROW? LET OUR KIDS GROW UP THINKING THAT BEING A DRUG DEALER IS THE WAY TO GO! OH! AND OF COURSE LET'S ALL REMAIN IN THE PROJECTS OUR ENTIRE LIVES!!! LET'S SPEND MORE ON A PLASMA TELEVISION THAN ON A SEMESTER OF COLLEGE. LET'S KILL EACH OTHER OVER SOME $200 SHOES. AND LET'S BUY $1000 CHAINS, REGARDLESS OF THE FACT THAT WE DON'T EVEN OWN OUR OWN HOMES." That's only a LITTLE of what these songs nowadays are really saying. But we steeeeeady supporting em. By the masses. HIP-HOP IS DEAD!!!!!!!! (Supersoak dat hoe)
obama is talking about "a change". hes being funded by the same people who fund the rest of them. obama is playing with your emotions. sometimes change can be for the worse.how can he change anything and he indebted to the same people who fun hillary, bush, mccain and the rest of those sleazeballs? kucinich is more of a black man than he is. he actually challenged voter fraud for hillary in new hampshire.he has more balls than obama.obama is somebodies boy.
and lets stop pikcing on this boy. this is america. we all have freedom of choice. if he chooses to call himself a big coon then thats his constitutional right. we cant say we want freedom of choice and then turn around and want stop him from calling himself a coon or nas from calling himself a ni-gger.live and let live and lead by example and give the youth other options to look up to.
@ BrutallyHonest clueless, narrow-minded bumpkin azz, cornbread eating negroes, voting Republican??????? Are u serious????? In the comment I made I was SIMPLY stating that dude was not naming hisself off the racial slur "coon", but a family members last name spelled with a "K" and that people (like you) are always stereotyping blacks down south and that basically makes you NO better than when white people do it to ALL black people. I know there are GREAT rappers that come from the south and I am aware of the B.S. rappers as well, but every region has good rappers as well "simpletons" So WHAT????????? U speaking all that righteous B.S. and still putting a stereotype on me since u don't even know me to say I'm clueless or a narrow minded bumpkin, I don't eat cornbread, I don't go to clubs every weekend shaking my a$$ and me, my family and EVERYONE I assoiciate with votes EVERY election and we vote democrat!!!!!!! So stop speaking like all of us down here are black dummies, sh1t negro you're no better putting down your own people and you actually think you're educating someone with your holier–than–thou attitude getting all off the freaking subject!!!!!! Between you and I the only one that sounds "CLUELESS" is the one judging people just because they come from a particular region in the country!!!!!!!!!!!
@brutally honest

I HAVE TO AGREE WITH HER AND JAKEY...THAT WAS OUT OF LINE. I'D EXPECT THAT FROM ANOTHER RACE...
The truth hurts sometimes, doesn't it? I'm by no means holier than thau because those problems are BLACK PROBLEMS and I am a BLACK MAN not afraid to speak out on it. SoulMusic, while I respect your opinion AND response, NOW IS THE TIME to be out of line and inject a little reality. I'm sure I hurt little jakey's feelings but people like her are part of the problem, she expressed PRIDE in how the South is hot right now, who fccukin cares how hot the south is right now? The issue was a man calling himself a Koon, which I will not accept. You don't have to like it, because I'm not shutting up about it. So all the you southerners who don't like it, get back to snappin, supermanning that hoe or whatever is you do while whitey controls you down there.
In support of BrutallyHonest, I am from the south. I've been on hip-hop since the days of the SugarHill Gang. Now, when we speak, as humans, we speak on the majority. And....now, the south is on "top" of the rap game. I really doubt if BrutallyHonest means each and every individual in the south. Really though. It's just that the south is in control of rap music now, just as New York was in the beginning. And if you compare the hip-hop that comes outta The up North, to the down south artists as a whole.....? I mean, that's just stating the obvious. We all know there are dummies all over the globe. But the majority usually rules, and sorry, but the majority of southern rappers ain't talkin bout or representing sh*t but like I said above-guns, bling, and drugs. That's just the truth. And I'm FROM the south. But I like real hip-hop and SO WISH that we could bring the REAL LYRICISTS back to the forefront. There's a difference between being a "rapper" and being a "lyricist". Point blank. And these "rappers" are running the charts, just like the media wants them to. and like I said, BY THE MASSES, we support them. The artists who actually have lyrical content in their rhymes can't even get air time nowadays. WHY??? Because they are trying to teach our race something....and the "media" can't have that. And we fall for it. Too blind to see it. That's the sad part. And YES, the "south" is more about guns, drugs, and bling. That's a fact.
lol, brotha I'm feeling what you are saying and I even heard her comment you rebuttled. It's tough love what you are doing understood...but you couldn't be farther from the truth. And it's cause of the name calling you did. That's not truth. I am from Compton, California and never in my life have I gangbanged...but that's the music that has given our city a reputation. Here...the houses are kept up very nicely down to the yards, it's not project or "ghetto" as you'd think if you never been here. It's the people whose mentallity is into that world that moreso make this place dangerous. My point is that there isn't a universal ignorance in the whole city of Compton. So it's not right to name call first of all, cause that causes the offended to now debate ignorantly about what's NOT at hand. And it's not right to assume they all down there are republicans. Cause alot of blacks don't even support democrats either...and look at you like you're a sell out for doing so... You're right reality hits hard and truth is truth...but...don't you think that truth hits hard and speaks for itself alone?? That requires facts and not name calling and assuming And I love cornbread my damn self.
@ BrutallyHonest, No Hun you in NO WAY hurt my feelings, see, I have to know you and care about you to have my feelings hurt by you! Secondly, how are "people like me" the problem because I have pride about where I'm from. I was born and raised in the south and yes I am proud of where I'm from, isn't that the way it should be, or should I be like you degrading and putting down my own people????????? You talking about "black problems" well I feel the biggest problem we have as black people is that we never support one another and we are always quick to point the finger and put eachother down (like you are doing) and hating on each other instead of having eachothers backs like other minority groups in this country. I understand that naming yourself "Coon" is a very ignorant thing to do, but not if you are saying "KOON ~ as in a LAST NAME" and maybe people should look at some background on things before you judge the issue. Snapping your fingers or doing the superman (in my opinion)is just another silly dance that started down here like all the other silly dances young people are doing ALL OVER the country and FYI I'm not into doing a lot of dancing no matter what it is, so ONCE AGAIN you are making stereotypical statements NOT SPEAKING THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Music is a sermon to a beat. Take away the music and imagine someone saying half the shyt people rap about to you personally...you'd be like what the hell??? Comedians are the funniest when they are honest. We that love real hip hop are older in age unless Christ's spirit falls upon an individual at an early age. Traveling shows me that while Jay-Z and all get play everywhere, some cities play local talent. Most of the people are intelligent rappers and want to uplift. And they will never mainstream. We all know that the companies won't really back any positivity...but that's old news and really the only thing that we can say on blogs like this. But this is what's real life to me about this topic...WE the people that listen to the music and get influenced or who listen objectivly. this goes beyond the music...what will we as a people do about it? Koon might actually be positive and using the name to catch attention...who knows? I haven't heard the brothas music at all. Just like within conversation between people...everyone don't always want to hear deep conversation. Lighten it up and don't be so deep. So there are intelligent people that will dance to Soldier Boy when it comes on but it doesn't influence them to Superman a hoe, ya know?
@ 08onmynewish I understand the argument you guys are making, but you said "he was not speaking about EVERYONE down south" & that is my problem because that is exactly what he did, saying "cornbread eating, country bumpkins, etc, etc." How are you gonna educate people on some real sh1t, but at the same time put us down and make it seem like EVERYONE down here "vote republican, are bumpkins & eat cornbread everyday, shaking our a$$es and snapping our fingers" he sounds the same way racist white people talk about us all and because of that it makes him no better than they are.
Wow, jakey, I thought you were a little smarter than that:
So supporting a man who calls himself KOON (first OR last name) is a good move here? Wow, now that's about the dumbest thing I've heard on MTO.
Let me tell you what I support: Intelligence, drive, understanding that you not only represent yourself, you represent your people. Most folks like yourself, from down south, are so scurred (yes, I said scurred) of whitey that you retreat to the rear, snap your fingers and revel in that blissful ignorance you see showcased in many a down south rap video. So I wouldn't expect you to understand, your mind is not developed yet. People who understand the realness of what is being said get the point, sadly the chitlin circuit doesnt...
SoulMusic, Compton CHANGED music and the world. Compton is somewhere to be proud of because the young brothers channeled pain into profit while shining a light and providing social commentary over what was wrong in California. That type of riskiness and pride is absent in down south music and frankly, will never be there.
See poor little jakey is getting upset, but why? If that does not apply to you then why address it? If you could read (and I'm doubting it at this point) I clearly told raen that those unintelligent idiots from down south know who they are, I would have had to met EVERY person from down south to be sure, sadly I have not. So if this doesn't sound like you, why the anger? Like I said, some folks just cannot handle the truth and you appear to be one of those. A police officer up here had what appeared to be a racist cartoon INSIDE his locker his azz is getting fired, I don't think that would happen down south. Little Cletus would just get desk duty for a few months....
Yes, I understand how you could take offense, or anyone for that matter. BUT!!! These artists nowadays are doing the EXACT same thing. They are portraying us as low lives, killing each other, not aiming for much, accepting whatever. That's how our image is, and it's mainly(not completely) but mainly, coming from the south. These artists may not SOUND like the racist white people, but they definitely fit into their stereotype of us. Hip-hop has a much bigger voice than brutallyhonest. Matter of fact, hip-hip IS the largest voice in the black community. I doubt if brutallyhonest HATES the south, but that's what's representing us in the media and sadly leading our children, so.....
I guess I understand taking offense, but I'm so into hip-hop I just HAVE to speak on this topic. I LOVE the south. Proud yes, but I blame these artists for the way we are portrayed. and that's how they portray us. It's not US degrading our race, it's them. They have the bigger voice. Before I take offense at brutallyhonest, I'm gonna take offense at the bigger voice, das all. White racists LOOOOVE to see and hear us bragging about the projects, shaking our asses, getting "hood rich", etc. That started in the south when it comes to rap music, so they are responsible. And when people speak, they usually just speak on the majority. These artists "call themselves" KEEPING IT REAL....but really all they are doing is KEEPING US DOWN.
Does that make sense? Cause I do understand how anyone would take offense at the statements about the south, but....I just feel that the bigger voice is to blame.
@ brutally honest...i know exactly what the saying is...my point was this is a samll insignificant @$$ issue, just like an ant hill....but if it makes you feel better at night to put someone else down to make yourself feel better by all means go ahead.....
NOW FOR THE 2ND TIME..."A'LL MAKING A MOUNTAIN OUT OF AN ANTHILL"AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE MY COMMENTS THERE ARE A BUNCH OF ROCKS YOU CAN GO KICK!!!
IT IS WHAT IT IS....SO DO WHAT IT DO.... OH@ BRUTALLY MAKE SURE YOU READ THE TAG LINE BELOW....SMOOCHES

Compton is somewhere to be proud of because the young brothers channeled pain into profit while shining a light and providing social commentary over what was wrong in California. True and not true. Brotha we the people that lived in Compton before NWA came out knew what was going on here in Cali and out of Cali when it came to banging and injustice. NWA didn't come out like they were public enemy, but gangstas. When you do a song where you killing someone, how do you go on television and say I wrote that song to tell kids don't do what I did when you never even made THAT statement (don't do what I did) anywhere on your album?
What did happen was more killings, more people EAGER to join a gang. It was popular to join a gang in the '90's all of the sudden. Even in the suburbs of Cali where they didn't bang. That's being a bumpkin. That's being ignorant. That isn't anything to be proud of. I love where I'm from cause of the memories of family, and the familiar surroundings of where I grew up, not cause of NWA or DJ Quik.
I remember when early rap came out...Poor Righteous Teachers, Brand Nubian, PE, BDP was at the forefront. And you still had your Souljah Boys aka Fresh Prince, Kid-N-Play but it was all in fun. But music influences people. When these cats were out, our people were wearing African medallions around their necks, black pride shirts...positivity. When Dre dropped The Chronic cd...not that I never seen or smelled weed, but now EVERYONE everywhere was smoking weed. Guns, drugs ect are everywhere. Not just the south, west or in major cities. It's a problem everywhere even overseas. The South in 2008 is the same as it was back in the day with the mentality of whites there...but is that surprising? These blacks there in the south won't go for that slavery shyt these days but the slave mentallity some blacks still have is everywhere too...not just the south.
Soul, I can't dispute what you say about Compton because frankly, I wasn't living there when NWA came out, but what I can tell you from the outside looking in is that NWA was seen not just as gangstas, but as reporters as to what was going on in Compton. Killings went up in Compton just like everywhere because society has just gotten more violent as a whole, I would stop short at linking that to NWA.
Now while you say todays blacks down south won't go for that slavery I WILL TELL YOU that the middle-aged to older blacks sometimes act like they are scared to death of whitey and they pass it down. Just my opinion but I appreciate your input and learn from your posts.
Same here brotha I thank you for building with me. This isn't negative conversation. But within Compton? yes, I could link it to NWA. Trust me. BDP was reporters, so was PE. And that's gansta to me...cause pro blacks that report what's going on in the hood can make a difference with support and backing. I have more backing with my religious people trying to change the hood...but it's against the ganstas. Not our choice but they don't want help. That's sad. They hate positive blacks for numberous reasons. We can't go to whitey with our list of demands ununiformed. So guess who we as positive people are fighting? Sad. This change I live for, and That I'll die for.
The older blacks...you're absolutly right. They lived in the times we only read about. Jim Crow laws, ect. Freedom to them WAS the right to vote...the death of Jim Crow. They experianced the lynchings. But they are now just happy with the fact they can now sit next to a white man. Someone like me gets even deeper...what about G-d (us being Christlike) and being Sovereign? Truly Sovereign? Blacks don't get that deep or even fathom the concept for reality. They/we have accepted the laws of America as our own even tho we're not apart of the Constitution's dream. And are contempt. So we rebel by doing what "blacks do" (whatever that means) and bringing it to light as a jiggaboo would in the name of fun and entertainment. Instead of clowning each other, build with each other as we are doing now. We all are from different states and cultures...that's powerful to have that communication at the touch of a button. But we spend it trying to holla at a girl across country, getting local puzzy, and talking shyt about each other...
@ 08onmynewish yes I understand you COMPLETELY; usually that's how you school or educate someone on your opinion, by using intelligent words in your comments instead of being as ignorant as the people you're putting down by insulting others; sh1t like that is uncalled for!!!!!!
As for you BrutallyHonest, once again you can't anger me, but the "little Jakey" thing is real cute that's my son's nickname :-), but you are ONE BIG A$$ contradiction "I would have had to met EVERY person from down south to be sure, sadly I have not. So if this doesn't sound like you, why the anger?" MY POINT EXACTLY, but you have called me every down south insult there is, "I'm scared of whitey, my mind is not developed" and you don't know me from Adam. You also started off saying "I thought you were smart", but your first comment addressing me you called me a "clueless cornbread eating bumpkin" which one is it???????? Also, the people you are referring to don't just exist down south, there are country, cornbread eating, ignorant, black republicans, scared of whitey, sell out, shaking a$$, snapping fingers, still in slave mode dummies all over the damn country!!!! Lastly I don't "support" Big Koon because I don't buy or listen to his music, I simply stated THE TRUTH, he's not calling himself "COON" IT'S A LAST NAME K-O-O-N; look it up!!!!!!!
I know @ brutally...me b so clueless.... let me go run and ask massa, what ta do ta make me smatta.... LMBAO
You, young BLACK brother need to get a clue. You talk about people degrading ourselvs, hip hop, whatever yet you come on hereto call me a stupid dumb, clueless negro...tell me how smart are you....lol
When and if you are truly able to get on my level come holla at me....I make enough money to talk whichever way i want.....and the day you began to take care of CORNBRED...then your opinion of me will matter....until then Kick rocks... IT IS WHAT IT IS...SO DO WHAT IT DO....
i'll see you on the next round of pointless insults that you send my way... muahhhhhhh
lol...well, man I know it's just a handle name. And maybe I'm wrong but cornbreadfed just means she's thick.
Now...if the conversation matches ignorance then hey...
Since this blog has gotten somewhat educational and deep you notice no one is commenting or blogging now...but if you continue to say something crazy, this post would be still jumping with haters and dumb ass comments.
Go figure
@BruttalyHonest
Although you have made valid points you seem kind out of touch and harsh without need. While I probally would have changed mine had I been born with that last name, he didnt. So let it be. Even the WHITE GUY on here understands that much.Sterotyping only makes you a
PART OF THE PROBLEM.
By the way if I was to stereotype you I would assume you were always first in line at the gay club. because you look and sound kinda "howya doing" to me .If I was to stereotype a black young man from somewhere up north I might think every other word out of his mouth was "son" or that he might rob me because of how the crime rate is potrayed.
That doesnt make it true though does it?

THE NAME IS CORNBREDFEED...DON'T 4 GET IT....LOL
TO THE POSTER BEFORE ME
"Although you have made valid points you seem kind out of touch and harsh without need.
Stereotyping is ignorance.
Please step off yor highhorse. "
I LOVE IT...I'M GONE FOR REALL
@ 08onmynewish & SoulMusic, see I can talk to brothas like you. You speak intelligent and have a lot of valid educated points and not once did you down or degrade any of us, thanx for proving all black men don't have to be ignorant a$$ holes!!!!!
@ Dee1anonly "probably read 2 books and think he knows everything" I was thinking the same thing a long time ago, but was trying not to be insulting like he was!!!!!!
@cornbredfeed you were the 1st one to point out what his name really meant and I feel everything else you've said!!!!!
[EXPLETIVE] “bling” - those little “pretties” a [EXPLETIVE] needs to impress and show the world that it’s really not a [EXPLETIVE]. Plus “bling” tells all the homies that a [EXPLETIVE] be “keepin it real,” when really what it’s proving is the [EXPLETIVE] is anything but real and that the creature is a phony from the word go. Anyone who needs an item to impress or to prove worthiness has no worthiness. Like I’ve been saying most of my life, [EXPLETIVE] are simple & bland creatures with inherent low self images who think only of themselves. Most will steal, rob, sell dope and even murder in order to acquire the most bling. Bling of course is as useless as the [EXPLETIVE].
This is what was posted about African-Americans on exposethemall.whitenationalist.info. You should go there and check out what else they had to say about African-Americans.
I went to that Expose them all website. That's deep. All I can say. As you can see, there's no pic of the owner, no way to respond, etc. So that's just another internet gangster hiding behind a mouse. And I HOPE his/her site gets NO attention!!! Let's not make the M*f*cka rich & famous-that's what they want. unless there's a way to shut it down and I don't think there is, I don't know. But yea, f*ck em.....each and every black person on earth could be crime free millionaires & they would STILL have that same site posted......wit dey dumb azz.
@MsFantasy I went back and looked at how they headlined Vick's story; wow ignorance and hatred truly abounds. @08onmynewish I concur and my friend said that is just an antagonistic site to provoke African-Americans probably created by someone with a Phd conducting some type of experiment. I wonder if people like Big Koon were aware of a site like that and read the comments would that provoke some thought and make them do some self inventory and say 'There's a reason why they speak about us this way'. I don't know just a thought.
Yea, Trulee, really you would think so, as far as the way we are portrayed, that someone who holds an image visible to the world would try and redirect. Sad. Like I said, it's one thing to be proud, it's another thing to be ignorant. And we as a people are nowhere near RUNNING things in this society. And that's exactly what they want.
@jakey_natey I GOT YO BACK GIRL. BEING FROM DA SOUTH I WAS OFFENDED WHAT BRUTUALLY HONEST SAID. I [EXPLETIVE] HATE CORNBREAD AND NEVER BEEN TO A CLUB IN MY LIFE. IF I WAS A STEREOTYPE PERSON I WOULD CALL HIS ASS DOWN LOW AS WELL CUZ HE SURE DO LOOK LIKE HE TAKE IT FROM BEHIND. I WOULD SAY HE'S PROBABLY SUCKING DICK NOW.DA WAY HE SAID IT MADE IT SEEM LIKE EVERYBODY DOWN SOUTH IS DAT WAY. GET DA [EXPLETIVE] OUTTA HERE WITH THAT [EXPLETIVE].
the truth of the matter is all of you are hypocrites.any person of african descent who calls themself WILLIAMS,SMITH, WASHINGTON, JONES are for all intents and purposes calling themselves a BIG KOON because you ahve adopted the sir name of your ex-slavemaster and you are even slaves amymore. so the next time you sign a document saying your name is JAMES MCKINNEY, you are telling the world you are still mr MCKINNEYS koon. thats real talk my negroes.
Brutally honest. let me be brutally honest and Im going to shut this whole hypocritical analysis down.what is your last name? Jackson(Jacks son)? Wilson( Wills son)?.If so, then you are basically saying you are Jacks coon or Wills coon. How are you going to say you are a free person while carrying the rapists name?free people do free things. at least Big Koon is honest about his mentality. thats more real talk my negroes and Ms. Afghanistan will back me on this.(with her sexy eyebrows.)
I was born and raised here in Atlanta. We have some dumb niccas here, and very intelligent brothers too. The problem with the dumb niccas, they think they can learn life on the streets. If you try and tell them something, they got 150 reasons why you're wrong. They choose to be dumbazz ignorant mofos. This is another image of hopelessness. These dumb niccas live in fear. They show heart on the streets, but in reality these niccas are afraid of Mista Whitey. These are the same niccas that continue to work in the fields and snitch on the runaways for extra bread. Slave azz niccas make me sick.
I really hate how black people associate anything that is part of our culture like eating fried chicken or putting rims on cars or even wearing sagging jeans as negative. Personally, I dont give a phuck what white people or any other race thinks. Everyone is on here commenting that this is why whites laugh at us. They laugh at us because people like you guys are so unhappy with everything that you are that you try so hard to be like them and its funny. Its kinda like when a lil girl puts on her moms high heels to be grown or when you see a white chick with cornrows. You dont gain respect thru imitation. If we would stop hating ourselves and start embracing who and what we are, everyone would be happier. But then it's too hard for us cuz that stop most of you from worshipping the lightskinned women (alicia keys and beyonce), stop the women from supporting the korean hair stores for the dumb ass weaves and websites like this one would be outta business cuz people would have more important issues to think of instead of who superhead is sleeping with now. You dont see whites being ashamed of eating string bean caserole or talkign all nasal. They embrace that shyt and ignore what everyone else thinks.
Once again we have black folks upset upset about a name and a Southern Rapper. When will you learn the difference between entertainment and real life. With some of the other names in rap, it should not even come as a shock to anyone that someone has chosen the name 'Big Koon'. Let's not forget probably 80% of the content on television and radio is negative. It's not just rappers, it's everyone.
*SMDH*
What is the purpose of celebrating MLK's birthday or designating February as Black History Month?? Dr. King is SPINNING in his grave now! All the people who FOUGHT and DIED for the right to be treated like human beings, this is like spitting on their graves and saying, "We like being called n*ggas, tar babies, sambos, and yes, koons because we're too STUPID to care about being disrespected."
The further we've come, the more I think we're RIGHT BACK WHERE WE STARTED. No wonder we as a race will never be respected or taken seriously, because of fools like this guy. These ignorant ass morons need to crack open a book and learn about their history, but like Chris Rock said, we don't read, so the chances of that happening are mighty slim. *sigh*
i work for the label of two dog records which signed big koon and here is big koon reply to what's been said about him calling himself just that ********************************************** Usually I don't stoop to get involved in gossip...especially not of the "behind a desk in a safe place" variety...but I feel the need to addresss this issue...and short-stop all the hate...The nickname "Koon" i.e."Ace Boon Koon, Koonta Garvey, Koonta Marley" was taken from my late Uncle Willard Brown...He was definitely a strong patriarch in the Brown family raising a generation of men and women who raised me. And don't for a second think I'm endorsing self-hate, or degrading my self because I am a proud black man and very in tuned with my heritage and the struggles of my people. I'm out here everyday, trying to go from negative to positive, trying to improve the quality of life for my children, my family, and the people who depend on me. And where I'm from you never talk bad or hate a man for trying to do anything positive or for trying to better himself. That's insane dog, as down south great Scarface would say. So before we become so hasty to judge take the time to find out more. Because just like u took the time to bash my late uncle's name and my name on this site, you could have gone to my myspace page, listened to the music, and left me a message askin about it. So in closing my [EXPLETIVE] ( never..ignorant..getting..goals..accomplished) treat people the way you want to be treated...and Koon ( King Of Original Nations) is not meant to be degrading, I'm sure you've referred to someone as your Ace Boon Koon, its just a shortened versions. Live and let live sometime...because there are way bigger issues to be addressed in the black community other than our nicknames. Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device
