The debate was GREAT!!! Obama hit her like a gentleman should in the first 15 min of the debate. He reamed her on healthcare, the mortgage crisis and the war. Obama didn't vote for the war and the funding was to aide to troops with body armor, hummers, etc... Hil has a history of making bad decisions, recanting and numerous after thoughts. May 08, 2006 The University of Chicago Hospitals (UCH), Illinois, agreed to pay $35,000 to resolve its liability for CMPs under the patient dumping statute. The OIG alleged that the hospital failed to accept an appropriate transfer of a 61-year-old male who presented to another emergency department with a complaint of flank pain. UCH had specialized capabilities not available at the transferring hospital and allegedly refused to accept transfer after learning that the patient did not have insurance. UCH then later agreed to accept transfer of the patient only if he provided proof of funds in a bank account. The patient was transferred to another hospital where he died.

As far as the debate, it was decent. I wish Obama was better prepared for the health care questions, but he held his own overall, and at points shined. I like the fact that he does not want to make excuses for the perdicament that so many blacks for are in, like we do all too often.

I understand your point Baby Girl, but trust me when I say that the government system is more partial to a capital (money) agenda than it is a racial agenda.
Now that Black people are beginning to become larger players in the entreprenuerial game, moreso than in the past, we are becoming more important to the political agenda as well.
Our economy is designed to feul itself: Manufacturers and companies that offer consumers products or services employ - consumers. Remember when America was urging American consumers to BUY AMERICAN rather than foreign? That is why. Our economy is in a slump right now because more and more businesses are outsourcing their employment and buying commodities and services needed to run the companies from foreign countries - stimulating their economies but not our own. More money is going out than coming in.
So the result is, workers are being laid off (no money to consume products) and companies - especially manufacturing companies - are shutting down. This is why Bush's plan for a releif package SUCKS! It doesn't even address the obvious. Give consumers a few extra bucks in their tax returns is not going to encourage more spending - at least not for me. And it's definitely not going to have any long term positive effect. We can't keep relying on foreign aid and debt.
The same thing happens locally. In Black neighborhoods, Blacks need to support Black-owned businesses. Blacks need to invest in Black businesses. Yes, Blacks need govenment assistance and investor support from, usually, non-black investors to get started because the majority of us are just not there yet - to adequately support ourselves in start-ups, that is. But if we as a group are smart, and stick together, we'll get there and it won't take long.
But it seems as though we are focussing on everything else. Read, please read and stay well informed. But be cautious when forming opinions based on reading something that any unknown wrote about and published as "factual". If you want to know what the real agenda is, work in the system, if for nothing else just to see how it's done and why it's done that way. It might not be pretty, and you might get upset, but at least you'll know from first hand experience what needs to happen and how you can make a difference.
This is coming from someone who has worked in both the business sourcing industry and in the government for almost ten years.
