: Looks like there will be two less R&B stars at this Sunday's Grammy Awards. MediaTakeOut.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned that neither Janet Jackson nor Mary J Blige will attend the awards show. And their boycott has nothing to do with the writer's strike.
A person in Mary J Blige's camp confirmed to MediaTakeOut.com that the R&B queen was NOT invited to perform at the Grammys and will therefore NOT be attending the show.
And Janet's camp had a similar complaint. An insider told MediaTakeOut.com, "[The organizers] are specifically preventing Janet from performing at the event ... That's despite an overwhelming response from music fans worldwide."

You're right, there are up and coming musicians that want to perform on the Grammy's. HOWEVER, who wants to hear about how many cars they have, "popping caps in da hood" or how many females they've screwed (which probably equates to NONE.) Secondly, you have artist acting like children feuding over how many units they can move rather than passing on a "positive" message. Now, why would the Grammy's want to give them any air time? It make logical sense to ask Mary, Janet or Queen Latifah (for that matter) to perform over those "hood punks" that are putting out trash these days.
Secondly, everyone needs to let that "superbowl" thing go. It happen all of what 4 years ago...hell, we've all seen a nipple before either in our hands or in our mouths. Seriously, let it go because I bet you if Janet were to strip off her shirt in front of most of your faces that keeps mentioning the "superbowl incident", you wouldn't have a problem. Lastly, both Janet(at a comfortable age of 40) and Mary (at a comfortable age of 37) look better than some of you that are 20 and are sitting around wishing you could look half as good as they do.
These females need to realize...just like Madonna..Dont take long extended breaks lasting years and lose touch with fans then come back over 40 and expect to still be hot. By then your fans have somewhat aged and moved on to newer genres or artists, and the newer generations barely know you enough to fully get excited about your records.

grammys always had somethin against Janet. This ARTIST has sold over 100 millon records. Can Y'ALL comprehend that. 100 MILLION. Janet has only performed on the show once, and that was way back when she released Control. She has never won in a major category. (THE BIG 5) I would boycott them too. The Grammys are so biased. THey pick who they wanna pick. India Arie, who can forget her shutout. Diana Ross has never won a Grammy. Led Zeppelin has never won. Marvin Gaye only received one grammy for Sexual Healing. He should have as many as Stevie Wonder. Jill Scott Being bypassed for best new artist by Shelby Lynn who wasn't even a new artist. Prince's Sign O'The Times album not taking home the Best Album Of The Year even though it was on everybody's list as the best album of that year. (Their trying 2 make up for that now,though.)_I can go on and on how [EXPLETIVE] up they are. As 4 Mary, her album Growing Pains is classic and her performance on the show was vintage,classic and whatever other adjectives u can come up with. For the Grammys to snub her is well.... predictable. They don't realize that Mary's legacy will be compared to the very person their honoring, Aretha. Damn shame. I will not be watching. For the [EXPLETIVE] who say Janet can't sing. Not every singer needs to scream or hit high notes to be considered a good singer. Plus, Janet is still one of the best live performers we have today. Stage Presence is one of her best assets.
