I am from a small town in Georgia called Blakely. I am about 193 miles from Atlanta.This no snitching thing really is senseless...Well Saturday Feb 2, 2008 about 1:00am at a local club here there was a argument and fight between Early County people and Miller County people and Charles Grant was involved also Charles did get stabbed in the neck but was not serious injured.
But the tragic part of the story was that a 24 young black lady was shot and killed that night and she was 5 months pregnant also. They say Charles Grant had nothing to do with the shooting but [one of his] friends did the shooting and Charles Grant will not talk about it.
I just wanted the media out there to know about this small town tragedy that involved a NFL Football Star CHARLES GRANT with the NEW ORLEANS SAINTS....
Yes this story is very true. It made national news on both CNN and MSNBC. It is a tragedy when blacks continue to de-value one anothers life. However, I am tired of these stupid a$$ football n%**asw always getting into trouble for dumb s@@t. I mean damn, I thought they went to college. Have they ever heard of curling up with a nice book. And furthermore, what was a 5 month pregnant woman doing at a club at one am. Thank you!

The way the media first reported the story I though this girl was with Grant, like his girlfriend or something. He looks like a little kid in the face. even though he's a pro football player, he still has the mentality of every other guy his age who aren't in pro sports, which is a mistrust of the police. Most of us believe professional players are supposed to be more mentally mature than other people that are in the same generation, but they are sometimes just as immature. They just have more money, and usually more people around them to try and keep them out of trouble, particularly during the season(agents, teammates, etc.)

People, people some of you are missing the point. It's not about a pregnant women at the club...at best she mad a bad choice. When we talk about why she was at the club...we are somehow blaming the victim. It's about some fool who had a gun and now an innocent young black women will never get the chance to look into her child's face. Our black men need to stop this reckless behavior, we are losing a valuable resouce and that our black males. What other races of people kill each other like our people do. It's not cute at all, it devalues black males lives. It also hurts our communities and it hurt our children. Black men are going to have to come together and help solve the violence perpetrated on by one another. Don't look for the white man to solve this because; they don't give a damn. Calm down people it now come out that Grant was merely a victim in a stabbing and played no role in an incident early Sunday morning that ended in the shooting death of the women. Listen up everyone...I have known Charled Grant all of my life and he is a very good person. This guy has been through a lot of stuff before. He was sitting on the couch right beside his younger brother when a shotgun fell over in the corner and killed his little brother...I think he was around 3 or 4 years old. When this story first was going around in mine and Charles' hometown of colquitt it was said that he had murdered 3 people, so who ever this reader is that posted this is probably full of crap because it was said that atleast 200 people were in the street when the gun went off and how would they no what Charles has said being he hasnt answered any freakin questions, so this person needs to get a life. Everyone around Blakely and Colquitt are jealous of Charles because of the life he has made. People from Miller County have been going to Blakely to club for years so most of the people in the club are familiar with each other. I am sure that somebody else saw what happened, where are they? The fight was between two counties. The writer never said how many ppl were involved. That football player could not have been the only witness. Obviously he was on the opposite side. Why would he snitch on ppl who had his back during the fight.
The writer never said whether the pregnant woman was involved in the fight or just an innocent bystander. So opinion has to be reserved in her case.

The situation is unfortunate but If I had accidentally shot a pregnant woman AT A CLUB and killed her and was probably facing Lethal injection, I wouldnt want my friends to snitch on me and sentence me to death over some woman that we dont even know. Wait, okay people, you make it seem like to 'snitch' is a easy thing to do. When you do so, you put your life in danger. Most people know right and wrong, the main reason why people don't tell is because they don't want to die. Even if the police give you protection, it doesn't guarantee safety. New Orleans Saints defensive end Charles Grant was stabbed in the neck and a pregnant woman was shot and killed early Sunday during a fracas at a southwest Georgia nightclub.
Grant, 29, was released after being questioned as a witness in the shooting that killed Korynda Reed, 23, of Blakely, where the altercation occurred, said Capt. Will Caudill, chief investigator with the Early County Sheriff's Office.
Blakely is the Early County seat, about 190 miles southwest of Atlanta. Police said the case remains under investigation, and no suspects have been named.
Details on the altercation are not yet clear.
Grant, a former University of Georgia standout, was treated and released from Early Memorial Hospital, Caudill said.
Reed was pronounced dead at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala. Investigators are awaiting an autopsy on the pregnant woman to be performed at the GBI crime lab, Caudill said.
A statement issued late Sunday night by Grant's attorneys, Edward Tolley and Bill Stone, asserted that their client contacted authorities and sought medical attention immediately after he was attacked by an unidentified assailant.
"Since that time, Charles has willingly and voluntarily assisted police in providing additional information concerning the attack ... [and] is continuing to assist police in recounting the events that transpired in and outside of the nightclub as needed," the statement said.
Grant, who now lives in Kenner, La., grew up one county over from where Sunday's fight occurred, in Colquitt. He attended Miller County High School, where he tied Herschel Walker's then-state record with 45 touchdowns in 1997.
Grant scored 101 touchdowns in his three-year career at Miller County and finished with 3,472 all-purpose yards his senior season.
Drafted by the Saints in the first round of the 2002 NFL draft, Grant was tagged as the organization's franchise player following the 2006 season. He had 2 sacks in 2007 while starting 14 games for the Saints. During his six-year career, Grant has 38 sacks.

There are just too many holes in this story. The story minimizes that fact that Charles Grant got stabbed in the NECK. Do all of you negative people that are ready to throw the book at Charles… when you don’t even know the facts understand what being stabbed in the neck means? Everybody that has ever been in a hole in the wall club knows that there is a 50% chance that something may pop off while you are there so you need to be prepared to deal with whatever happens when it happens. This is not new, our young black brothers and sisters have been getting killed in clubs like this for years but several of you act as though you have never heard of this before. My heart goes out the family of the young lady that lost her life; she died for no reason at all. How dumb is it for Early County to go up against Miller County? What for? Are we playing sports here? Why can’t people just go out and have a good time without all of this foolishness?
The author of this story writes it as though they were standing beside Charles while he was looking at the person who pulled the trigger. There are too many unanswered questions here. Like:
1. Where was the author the night this all went down? 2. Was the author at the scene of the crime when it happened? 3. Did the author see who did the shooting? 4. Does author know for a fact that the person that did the shooting was a friend of Charles? 5. Did the author witness Charles witnessing the shooting and if so why don’t they give the police a full report?
For all we know the person that wrote this could have been the one that shot that young lady and is just trying to divert the attention from them by using a high profile name like Charles Grant. Let’s not convict this man without having substantial evidence. This story is a collaboration of “the word on the street” and someone’s opinion.
