MediaTakeOut.com got its hands on a disturbing letter that was sent in to Woman's Day Magazine. Happy Valentine's Day!!
Julie is madly in love — with her own father.
Last year 32-year-old Julie Symonds* received an email from her mother, who had left her in care since she was six. Trying to make up for the years of neglect, her mum announced she had a surprise — she suspected she knew who Julie's real father was.
Julie, who was happily married, was thrilled, but little did she realise that very soon she would be sharing the same bed as the man she should have been calling Dad — and falling in love with him.
After passing over some details, Julie contacted the man whom she believed was her dad, via email. He was 52-year-old dad Jeff Thomas*, a war veteran living in LA.
"My mum dumped me in care from the age of six and I never had a father-figure. Finding out I might actually have a family was thrilling for both myself and my husband," says Julie.
Jeff and Julie were stunned at how alike their writing style was in emails, even down to using the same punctuation style and wording.
"It was like finding a twin or soul mate," says Jeff. The pair then exchanged photos, and were shocked at the resemblance. In March, Julie and her husband flew to Los Angeles.
Julie admits to feeling instantly attracted to her father.
"I saw my dad, but I also saw a sexy, attractive man. Imagine my feelings of horror and excitement, especially as my husband was with me," says Julie.
Jeff, too, admits to having feelings for Julie immediately.
"I recognised my role as Julie's dad, but I already found myself falling in love with her," says Jeff. "I actually thought 'Well, maybe that's the process" because we kind of fall in love with our kids when they're born. I thought that maybe I was just going through this same thing, only she's an adult, and it's perfectly normal, and I kept telling myself that."
Julie and her husband stayed in a hotel and met all of Jeff's extended family. A DNA test proved that Jeff and Julie were father and daughter, but with every passing day their mutual attraction — known as Genetic Sexual Attraction — was growing.
Research has shown that 50 per cent of brothers and sisters or children and parents separated at birth, who find each other as adults, experience some form of sexual attraction.
While Julie's husband flew home for work, Julie moved in with her dad and his then wife to get to know the family she never knew existed. A few days into the stay there was a chance for Julie and Jeff to be alone. Sitting on the couch, Julie finally came clean about her feelings.
"I admitted how I was feeling, and Jeff said he loved me too. We just sat, holding hands," says Julie, who began seeing a therapist after her first meeting with Jeff.
The pair kissed, and both claim the kiss and passion felt scarily right.
The relationship progressed. Jeff's marriage fell apart, and under the guise of bonding with her new family, Julie stayed with Jeff, sharing a two-bedroom flat with the man she still calls Dad.
Today Julie is still living with Jeff. Her husband believes she is spending time getting to know her father and doesn't know that the pair are sharing a bed.
"We have done everything but had actual sexual intercourse. It's like we're an old married couple — we're in love and know that actually having intercourse cannot be far away," confesses Jeff.
The father and daughter also take trips away where they can act as boyfriend and girlfriend and relish every moment away from prying eyes.
"We love each other as a father and daughter, but the problem is that we love each other more as lovers. If we weren't related she'd get divorced and I'd be getting married to her," says Jeff.
Despite the criminal and ethical implications, Julie and Jeff are determined to keep seeing each other.
"My father has recently retired, and he's going to move near me and my husband, where we will continue our relationship," says Julie.
"My husband and I have always tried to be honest with each other and we've even promised each other that if we fell in love with another person, that we would admit it. But I'm afraid that it would be too much of a judgmental issue for him. I'm afraid that I'll become a social outcast in all of the places that I go."
And yes, if someone discovers their identity and secret, they have answers prepared. "I guess the way that I see it is what goes on behind closed doors is no one else's business but my own — after all it is not as though I raised Julie," says Jeff.
"I don't know. If someone were to confront me on the street I am a little bit hard-headed and stubborn so I would probably come back at them with a smart-arsed remark using what intellect I have," says Julie.
@LADYTEE35
I DEFINITELY HAVE TO AGREE WITH YOU. THIS IS THE MOTHERS FAULT. IT IS SO SELFISH FOR SOMEONE TO HAVE A CHILD AND NOT KNOW WHO THE FATHER IS OR DO KNOW WHO THE FATHER IS AND NOT LET THE CHILD KNOW. THIS KIND OF THING HAPPENS SO OFTEN WHERE I AM FROM. I DON'T EVEN WANNA IMAGINE ALL THE INCEST THAT'S GONNA BE GOING ON IN THE NEXT 10 YEARS....SAD
@ Ladytee35
I was just about to say the same thing!! I saw that SVU episode too LOL!
I don't even know what to say about this. It's sad and nasty all at the same time. On the other hand, this never would have happened if her mother had handled her responsibility and found her daughter's father when she was first born.
I was adopted as a baby. From what I know about my biological family is that they still lie in the city that I was born, raised and currently live in. This is why I feel as though any person that is born and do not know there biological family should be able to even if the parents don't want them to know who they are.
This is just wrong! In my case I know that I have 4 biological sisters and probably a lot of nephews running around in the same city I run around in (they should be younger; saving grace) but people SHOULD know who and where they come from. For these purposes and health reasons as well.
I will pray for there souls.
Although incest is morally wrong in my opinion, clearly most of you have never gone past high school. It is mot uncommon sometimes for daughters to be sexually attracted or aroused by their biological fathers. Particularly if the father is present in her life and has been a positive influence on her. It is also not uncommon for a female child to experience these conflicting emotions upon sexual maturity, studies have suggested that the tention between mom and daughter may be a result of the daughters subconscience desire to feel that she can attract a man, as her mother attracted her father! Therefore mom and daughter began to vie for the males(husband/father) attention. This is why it is very important that a father be of upstanding moral character, many fathers have *** to being tempted by their own daughters once she reaches sexual maturity. The daughter is merely acting on her natural emotions of becoming a woman and realizing she has the power to entice men, even her own father. It is the fathers resposibilty to not cross the line and teach his daughter what to look for in a mate. There is alot of truth in the old addage "I want a man like my father!"
There had never been any kind of attraction for my father if anything RESPECT and being afraid I was going to get my asssss whooped if I had did something wrong. My father was always my mothers man and that is the only way that I would ever see him.
This *** sounds like something out of a drama magazine that only nuts read.
Well, a lot of black men must go through this. LOL! Good thing my dad is dead. And I'm IR dater exclusively.
-------------------------------- ladytee35 Flag post This is what happens when you go around making and having babies and the father is not part of the childs life. They had an episode similar on Law and Order SVU! --------------------------------
SICK, they need to understand a few things. Once upon a time, she was "his" sperm. So how do you open mouth kiss or have *** with your own sperm. If they had of met, fell in love, then found out that they were father and child, then that would be another story. Be a real dad homie and get her some mental help. If he smashes, someone is going to hell, to the section with no AC.
That's just madness. No excuse. First of all, ANYONE who my MOM has been with??? First turn off! Second, it's not that much love in the world, you can turn off attraction. All these people in the world and you just CAN'T HELP falling in love with YOUR DAD??? The same way that attraction to him(her dad) TURNED OFF her attraction to her HUSBAND proves that she can find something/someone ELSE to do besides her father!!! LMAO-***, wus really good?!?! come on now....
White people I tell! SoulPole - you are extremely WRONG! You can't be black! I'm 18 still at home and my father as been here since the day I was born and never ever do I feel sexually attracted to him, yes I love him for being there and taking care of me but sexually?! UGH GROSS! And neither do I vie for my fathers attention from my mother! YOU ARE SICK! Yes maybe girls want a man like their father in terms of character. I've heard of woman being with a man that looks like either their father or brother subconsciously but not because they find their brother or father sexually attractive!
First, I have a father(step but still my daddy)and I don't see how anybody can feel that way but to tell the truth this is probably more common than ya'll think. People having kids left to right and not knowing who the real father is. That's why Maury is so *** popular. I know a couple of people who met their sibling they didn't know about until high school cause they daddy kept it a secret or had too many to remember. I got 3 siblings somewhere in California I have never met. (after my parents divorce my real father left when I was young and started a new family). So someone could be in love with someone and probably be related but they just don't know.
That's why when I met my love I got that Soc. # and checked his stats. ***, now he gonna know..LOL
Oh, I have to comment on this one cuz something like this happened to me. My father was not in my life when I was growning up. I met him and one of my brothers who was only a few months older than me when I was 15 years old. My bio was cheating on his wife with my mother (he must have forgot to tell my mother that he was married...) Anyhoe, my mother and his wife were pregg at the same time. When I met my brother he was attracted to me and wanted to have *** with me. I tried to ignore his advances but when he questioned my youngest children's father about how I was in bed...that was it for him! If my boyfriend didn't kill him I was going to. And it was all I could do to stop the both of us from doing just that. Because of this, I cut all ties with my brother and I have not seen or spoken to him in better than 15 year. If I never speak to him again it will be so soon. Disrespectful, Disgusting Azzhole!
Unfortunately history sorta repeated itself. My eldest son's father cheated on me and that woman had a daughter. Even though I didn't like the *** I knew what I had to do. The other women and I peaced everthing up and let our children meet each other. We let them get to know each other at an early age b4 something like what happened to me happened to them. It's only natural to have love for your own flesh and blood but some people will go to far. I wanted my son to know his sister and know her as his 'SISTER!' I DID NOT WANT THEM TO MEET WHEN THEY WERE ADULTS AND BE ATTRACTED TO EACH OTHER!!! I wanted them to feel brotherly and sisterly love for each other not lustful love. People in these types of situation have to grow up and be adults for your children's sake. This woman and I fought because of the situation our baby daddy put us in but we had more common sense, love and respect for ourselves and children then hate for each other. All of us get get along with each other and our baby daddy is the odd man out!! Hell, I have more respect for her then my child's father. I still can't stand him cuz he has not grown up YET!!
People may think this is sick but look at it. These people didn't know each other at all. He's just another man to her and she another woman. You can't just make parental/child feelings appear for someone you don't even know.
However, they are parent and child and should no longer see each other. Talking by phone is much better for them. She should fly back to the state where she came from and leave this situation alone. It isn't even worth losing a family over. For her to fall in love with him, obviously she was missing something at home. Her father could've been any strange man.
@TheBrokenSilence.. For the record I am black, secondly incest is not a black or white issue. Incest exist in ALL RACES AND CULTURES! If you read my statement carefully, you would have noticed the first line that says, "Incest is morally wrong"! Why do black people seem to think we have some sort of invisible force field that shields our race from these problems and issues? If you do not beleive my statement about incest, do your own research! Fact of the matter is plenty of incest occurs amongst blacks just as any other race, I would be willing to even say that a good percentage of the females and even some males thatr post here have suffered from incest, molestation from family as well as non family! These are facts! Black people to your head out of the sand! We are not impervious to lifes ills!
this is like something my Psychology professor was saying in class. Sigmund Freud(the father of psychology) claims that when children are YOUNG(not this chick's age) they have a sexual attraction to the parent of the opposite ***, and want to kill their other parent in order to marry the parent of the opposite ***. In conclusion : eww.
Can anyone explane this to me when i was in grade school , the nun teaching religion told us that there were 2 people on earth Adam & Eve they had 2 sons Cain & Able . I asked the nun where did Cain & Able get there wives from if there was now only 4 people on earth, she called me a buu brazon ***, can any one tell me . I would like to hear your views on this topic
@africangirl...congrats for thinking out of the box..but many find questions insulting....especially when it comes to religion....
Ive got a question too......If God forgive "ALL" sins up to and including murder....is this why so many people who follow religion closely.. find it easy to commit sins-- because they know they can pray it off and be forgiven???
I think home girl just wanted her father's love seeing that she didn't have a father figure growing up. It is a good thing dude didn't raise her because he probably would have molested her. They should seperate themselves and seek help, cause the both of them are sick. insane in the membrane!!! -------------- A Quarter of a Century neva looked so good!!
@Africangirl---I've just recently started studying some different things for my own knowledge. All I'm gonna say is....the BIBLE has been translated MORE than 5,000 times. I'm not gonna get deep into discussion, but really we have what King James jotted down.
Hmmm...like I asked myself before I started studying, not out of disbelief, but just from wanting to know more than what I'd been told, I asked myself---
..."Who or what made God...God?"...
and then, I started learning other things that aren't too far off, they just go a little more in depth than Sunday mornings at First Baptist. Real talk.
Personally I don't like to judge or criticise others but this is some frigged up smit!!!! If this story is legit then both are selfish and are only thinking about their desires. It's just wrong any way you look at it. I may think to myself that my friends wife or girlfriend is a hottie I would never try and sleep with her, it's not worth ruining the FRIENDSHIP. And this isn't a blood relative. There are some line that you just don't cross no matter what you might think that you are feeling, and family is one of those lines.
woow, thats some *** i heard of twins fallin in love and they didnt know they were bro and sis
--------------- Internet is a quite good place to meet friends and even find whatever your need. so i uploaded my hot photos on the celebrity dating site LargeMingle.com under the name wantadaddy, maybe you want to check out my photos firstly!
@africangirl Cain & able had sisters also. Their sisters were there wives. This is not in the bible, along with a bunch of other things. The translation of today has a basic breakdown of things that we need to know. If you really want to get deep into the bible, read the catholic version. There are things left out there also, but it goes further in depth and has more books.
At African girl, the bible said Adam and eve were the FIRST man and woman created. It never said they were the ONLY man and woman. Infact, if you read a little further, you see that God had to mark Cain so that no one would kill him, hinting that there were other people around at that time. And at yve, you need to a little further too, dear. It says if you REPENT. God isn't stupid. The Bible covers that we are not to use the gift of grace and mercy as an occassion to sin.
The despite the fact his daughter is grown up and despite whether he has seen her grow up or NOT is still HER FATHER that sick fu*k. he is a manipulator and needs to be charged and jailed. The daughter needs some serious therapy and is obviously disturbed. The other "players" must be delusional.. where the hell is her husband? and the fathers wife? They are just letting this happen? c;mon who would let their wife move out of their home to live so she could live with her father she just got to meet? Sounds Like the Most dysfunctional freaks have heard of in my life.
