According to one of MediaTakeOut.com's highly placed sources, the government is going to formally declare February 21st (the day after Rihanna's 20th birthday) to be the official 'Rihanna Day.'
And Rihanna is taking the honor very seriously. According to one of our sources, Rihanna will be traveling back to the Caribbean island to accept the honor and, in gratitude, will give a free concert.

Now seriously though, I find it odd that she had 3 albums and have been given very high ratings as an artist being labelled as a "singing sensation" or whatever. Making what everyone called "hits" and at her third stage in the game she just won a grammy. She wasn't in the game that long, fair enough I can understand that, but she's been in it long enough to have won a grammy for the second album at least since it was such a "great album" with a No.1 single as people were making it out to be. I mean she didn't even get a nomination that year. Now third album - 1 grammy. I'm sorry but I find the whole fussing about her winning that grammy to be a desperate one. If she had won five like what most great artist do or at least 3 then I'd be getting what the fuss is about, but this is one grammy - big deal.
Isn't she in the same league as Beyonce - everyone mentions her and B in the same sentence constantly, so I would assume she's in her league. Beyonce got about 5 grammys for her debut album.

1) We are not having a 'Rihanna Day' for all of Barbados. A radio station is simply honouring her achievement at the recent Grammys by playing her music and giving away her CDs to listeners.
2) At a national level, there is going to be a big bash also as a way of honouring and celebrating her achievement. Barbados has a lot of undiscovered talent and Rihanna has opened the door for a lot of up and coming artistes to 'make it big' on the international scene instead of only being known here in Barbados. But most of all we are actually just HAPPY for HER.
If Rihanna was not talented and popular there would not be stories and pics of her on this site so often and half of you would not find the need to comment about her. You all are just jealous because you wish you could be a star like her and make the kind of money she does. I am not swearing she is the best but she has star quality; she is not the prettiest person in the world but I went to school with her and she is naturally pretty without makeup so you all need to come off of it and give the girl a break. And what does her personal life (whether it be with Chris Brown or otherwise) matter? It is called a PERSONAL life for a reason.
