Ok. I understand... It is kind of sad that sometimes it seems that many black men want what's the furthest thing from black- something that looks nothing like themselves or even the mothers who raised them.
but i think that many black men just admire beauty PERIOD, whatever form it comes in. because we live in a very diverse society, it's only natural that they will be attracted to a diverse selection of women.
i do agree with you on the fact that we need to be careful about how our tastes are molded by the media. it is unnatural for our standard of beauty to be something completely unnatainable and unnatural for us. while we celebrate the beauty of diversity, we should still maintain our own respective cultural values. and i think by looking at the pictures of prematurely aging Cameron Diaz and Jessica Simpson, we can see that even being a blond-haired blue-eyed barbie has it's draw-backs.
HOWEVER people of mixed heritage have ALWAYS been a part of African American and culture and the cultures of the Americas period- pretty much the culture of the colonialized world. it's all about loving ourselves for who we are and accepting our diversity. it's not the whiter the better or the darker the better.
