Are her 15 minutes of fame up yet?? Like Dr. Ian said, "HAVE SOME CLASS!!!" They were ALL adults in that room, she could've just stated her point. All that screamin and cussin on NATIONAL television? Does she honestly think, that after her display that a BIG NAME DESIGNER would want to work with her? Calvin Klein? Marc Jacobs? YSL? Baby Phat? Sean Jean? She should be lucky to get a spread in the Walmart sales paper after this. Because, if I were a designer, I'd steer VERY clear of her dramatics.
And to GGGB: Yes, we have ALL stood up for what we are passionate about, sometimes screaming, cussin, and whatever else. And that's fine. HOWEVER, I doubt if ANY of us were on NATIONAL TELEVISION trying to hold on to a career in the PUBLIC EYE. REGARDLESS of how they 'treated' her (I do not watch this show..but c'mon...let's get for real) she should've praticed restraint. Used some TACT.
How will anyone respect her after what she showed? If I NEVER saw Toccara before this episode and knew NOTHING about her except she's a grown ass woman, here's what I would've gathered from her "impression":
1. She DOESN"T have home training.
2. She communicates like a CHILD.
3. Her vocabulary is limited...VERY limited.
4. She couldn't POSSIBLY expect a successful career in the spotlight.
...among other things.

First off what everyone needs to understand is most of the time what we see on television isn't always the whole story. Does anyone know how much footage ends up on the cutting room floor? Yes Toccara was goin off...but what we probably didn't see is all the effort and hard work she had been putting in on the show. I relate with her frustration. She had a very difficult time on AMTM as well and when you live in a society that is fueled off of image who wouldn't be pissed? Most of the time on these reality shows the participants are "goated" into going off....who knows what pushed her to the edge...it makes good ass copy and high ass ratings. As people we need to stop critisizing one another. When you judge and critisize..YOU are judged and critisized. |

And with reality TV, Flava Flav set the bar at an all-time low for Black women by allowing them to think that the more ignorant they acted, the better chance they had of having a show of their own next season. And the crazy thing is, each season, more and more Black women sign up for the madness.

Well, I'm not sure what went down to cause her to snap like that. I have never seen her angry, not even close to this. Maybe they crossed a personal line? Maybe she was PMSing? Maybe she got the wrong weave number? Hell, I don't know, but I don't know very many people who would straight snap like that. Homegirl must have felt justified.
Personally, I think she looks pretty good compared to how she started several years ago. Everybody is not going to weigh 125 lbs. Just like everyone is not going to have blonde hair and blue eyes. We were not all made that way, so society just needs to expand their definitions of beauty. |

if this was a reputable show, then yes, I would say that she should try to make her presence known and stand up for herself..but a show that is based on the desperation of has-been and washed up entertainers is NOT something you want to be remembered for. I saw the show and they have edited what led up to that fall out which is foul. She did not say she would not follow the routine she had a bad day and ate either something fried or with a lot of sugar and comments were made about her will and want to do this. Anyone who has ever tried to diet, there are days when u fall off a the wagon its a lifestyle change. She has lost the weight I saw her in DC at a function but they took it to the extreme with her. |
