: We're not quite sure what to make of this, but word coming out of Atlanta is that T.I. may have a new career - as a preacher. MediaTakeOut.com reported to you last week that a judge temporarily lifted T.I.'s house arrest so that he could attend church services on Sunday.
Well according to a member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, TI did a lot more than just attend the church. The insider told MediaTakeOut.com, "T.I. stayed after services were over and spoke to Pastor [Eddie Long] for a long time ... They said a lot of things. But one of the things T.I. said is that he was thinking about becoming a minister."
We're not to sure that T.I. was serious. But hey ... stranger things have happened...

I think that he would make a great preacher. Young/Olf folks listen to his music faithfully so maybe he can reverse the situation and allow that same group of people to listen to his sermon.

This is such a lie. I am a member of New Birth and I was on the third row Sunday and TI left right before alter call. Please guys do not believe this lie. TI did speak on Sunday but it was about getting tested for HIV/AIDS. The theme for the week was "The Blood". The church did testing, blood drives, and feed and clothed the homeless. Shirle Lee Ralph also spoke about black women and HIV/AIDS. TI truly kept it real for the kids by saying "the best way to protect yourself is abstanance however, we do not live in a perfect world and that todays kids are no more gonna pay attention to me than their parents so for the hard heads use protection". I must also add that It was wonderful seeing him with his two sons. It was cute to see him holding King in his arms asleep with the older one asleep with his head on his shoulders. Oh Yes....Tiny is about 6 months preggers.

I love T.I. but I get so tired of nigg@z gettin in trouble then trying to turn to God. Why wasnt he trying to preach when he was sellin all that dope, fornicating, smoking weed, and buying machine guns? It doesnt take much to become a preacher in Christiandom, look at Reggie White, A.C Green, Terry Cummings, Deion Sanders and many other athletes have become ordained ministers its not that hard. IF this story is true, than I think that it would be a good look for T.I. He could help a lot of young kids realize that there's a better way to live life, and he could b a testimony for the Lord. And I kinda did feel like why do some people suddenly "get saved" when they're in prison or facing charges, but I gotta realize that's not my place to judge, and that God is using that trial in their life to bring them closer to Him. I hope this isn't true just for the fact that I like T.I.'s style the way it is. I mean I don't think he is to hard core, or to soft where he's at. Again, I was on the third row and he was right in front of me on the stage sitting right behind Bishop Long. Tiny the two kids and Tiny's Mom were sitting with him. He sat there and go into the service. He did not talk about his case at all on stage. He held his head high like a true man should. You losers get on my nerves with all your lying. Why are some of you commenting on this story like its bad??? God forgives sinners everyday so whats so different about TI?? God uses people like TI to get his point across...someone may change that never thought they could change if they see TI doing better. However, please let me know what you think after reading this. The declaration "There is no God" is what is known as an absolute statement. For an absolute statement to be true, I must have absolute knowledge.
Here is another absolute statement: "There is no gold in China."
What do I need to have for that statement to be true? A. No knowledge of China. ___ YES ___ NO
B. Partial knowledge of China. ___ YES ___ NO
C. Absolute knowledge of China. ___ YES ___ NO
"C" is the correct answer. For the statement to be true, I must know that there is no gold in China, or the statement is incorrect. To say "There is no God," and to be correct in the statement, I must be omniscient.
I must know how many hairs are upon every head, every thought of every human heart, every detail of history, every atom within every rock...nothing is hidden from my eyes...I know the intimate details of the secret love-life of the fleas on the back of the black cat of Napolean's great-grandmother. To make the absolute statement "There is no God." I must have absolute knowledge that there isn't one. Is it possible, that in the knowledge you haven't yet come across, there is ample evidence to proved that God does indeed exist?
If you are reasonable, you will have to say, "Having the limited knowledge that I have at present, I believe that there is no God." In other words, you don't know if God exists, so you are not an "atheist," you are what is commonly known as an "agnostic." You are like a man who looks at a building, and doesn't know if there was a builder.
Perhaps you have questions that hold you back from faith. First, almost every question you have about suffering humanity etc., can be adequately answered.
Second, we have faith in plenty of things we don't understand. Did you understand the mechanics of television before you turned it on? Probably not. You took a step of faith, turned it on, and after it worked, understanding how it worked wasn't that important. We accept that there are unseen television waves right in front of our eyes. We can't see them because they are invisible. For them to manifest, we need a receiver, then we can enjoy the experience of television.
God is not flesh and blood. He is an eternal Spirit-immortal and invisible. Like the television waves, He cannot be experienced until the "receiver" is switched on. Here is something you will find hard to believe: Jesus said, "He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him" (John 14:21).
Either that is true or it isn't. Jesus Christ says that He will manifest Himself to anyone who obeys Him. Approach the subject the same way you approached your first television set. Just take a small step of faith.
Or have you an ulterior motive? Could it be that the "atheist" can't find God, for the same reason a thief can't find a policeman? Could it be that your love for sin is clouding your good judgment? If the Bible is true, and Jesus Christ has "abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel," then you owe it to yourself just to check it out.

Please don't take this as an attack, because that is not my motive behind this post; I just want to shed some light on what you wrote. Jesus and God are one entity, and it is important to acknowledge that b/c you cannot get to the Father without the Son. It is Jesus who sacrificed his life so that we would not be bound by the law. God the Father brought Jesus into this world as a perfect man, and was crucified, though innocent. The difference between Jesus and Muhammad, Buddha, Confucious, and all other religious leaders/philosophers was that he resurrected. He rose again, and is still living. No one could have done that unless he was all God, yet all man. But please don't take my word for it. @Breezy All of the scriptures you listed ADD to the confusion in Christianity. One minute Jesus is a man, the next he is God and the next he is the Holy Spirit. The Bible is FULL of contradictions if you tell me Jesus is God but then the book of John tells me "No man has seen God at any time" John 1:18. This and many other scriptures substantiate that God and Jesus were SEPERATE.Jesus allegedly uttered on the cross "MY GOD MY GOD WHY HAS THOU FORSAKEN ME". Who was he talking to? Himself? Passages like these are sufficient enough for me to understand that Jesus bowed down to a Higher Being. Was Jesus powerful? Yes. Was he aided by the help of the Father? Yes. Was he God? No(Remember: No man has seen God) One thing for certain is the the term "SON OF GOD" is not to be taken literal as we know Jesus referred to himself as the SON OF MAN (I.E SON OF ADAM) The term SON OF GOD is a metaphor used to describe "those near God" As shown in Exodus 4:22 (Israel (jacob) is my son, even my 1st born")
Luke 3:38 "Adam which was the son of God"
Romans 8:14 explains this without all the confusion: "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God"
The resurrection of Christ is nothing more than a "fable" borrowed from the Pagans. Please remember that Christ didnt come to destroy the Law he came to fulfill it ( what law? THE LAW OF MOSES)So this tells us that Christ was a practicing Jew and WAS NEVER A CHRISTIAN, nor did he partake in Christian rituals like Christmas. The Sabbath was Saturday in Jesus time (remember the Law of Moses was in effect) later on Pagan beliefs were incorporated into Christianity and the Sabbath was switched from Saturday to SUNday after the SUNGOD Mithra. These are all historical facts that can be easily substantiated. The Bible has been written, re-writtin to suit mans needs and desires as was the practice at the time of Christ. Yes there is SOME truth in the Bible but its AUTHENTICITY is highly QUESTIONABLE.

Hey…I checked out that Pastor you were talking about, Pastor Ray Hagins. He did raise some very interesting points; however other things that he said were highly questionable. Did the Europeans change the words of the Bible around just to control the Black race? No, I don’t think so, simply because the original manuscripts of the Bible still exist, such as the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Greek texts of the New Testament. But, I won’t lie, the Europeans did create the notion of a white Jesus, and they did try to use the Bible to validate slavery…which is obviously not right. We all know that based on the geographical locations described in the Bible that all life originated in Africa and spread across the world from there. Jesus was not white either…Come on, what white man was born in Bethlehem, and lived in Nazareth? Did the Europeans use religion as a means to control the blacks then? Maybe… It is important to realize that most blacks during the time of slavery were illiterate, so the only religion they really had was the religion that was being fed to them by their oppressors…the slave masters. I felt that Hagins was blaming the Bible for things that he should have been blaming the imperfect slave masters/whites for. These were the same people who took verses out of the Bible and tried to use them to justify slavery, even when they knew their actions were dead wrong. Yes, blacks were oppressed by whites, far more than I could even explain in this post…The women were raped, and the men were forced to have sex with random slave women just to create a higher slave population. These things did exist, and it’s important to recognize them. That doesn’t mean that the Bible is invalid. It just means that the ignorant slave masters were twisting the Bible to satisfy their own appetites, attempting to justify what they were doing to the black race. Even Satan tried to use the Bible against Jesus Christ, trying to make him fall into temptation after his 40 day fast (Matthew 4), but of course, Jesus was smarter than that and countered him.
Is this still relevant today? Does the white race try to use religion to control us? I doubt it…we could read now. (Plus they try to control us with other things, but that is a different story.) And, even if it is still relevant today, I don’t subject myself to any of it. I read and seek the Bible out for myself…I don’t place my trust in what anyone has to say to me. (I don’t fully place my trust in any Pastor, leader of the church, or anything like that, because they are just as imperfect as I am. Though I love going to church, and I respect them in their position, I can’t afford to base my salvation on what someone else has to say) I refuse to remain a victim and cry, cry, cry about the disadvantages that I have as a black person in this country. I’m still furthering my education as much as I possibly can, and I’m doing what I have to do to be the person that the statistics claim that I could not be. And I have no grudge against the white race, because the Bible teaches us to grudge not. And Christians should almost expect to suffer, because Christ suffered, and we’re supposed to live like him. And of course, it’s not easy to deal with…it’s not supposed to be. But I’m not looking for heaven on earth because there’s a better heaven…in heaven.

I understand where all the confusion comes from since some verses refer to Jesus being one with the Father, while at other times, he bows down to God, his father. It is important to recognize that Jesus Christ came on this Earth as the ultimate example. Philippians 2:5 does say that we were to have Christ-like minds. He didn’t really have to get baptized, or fast, or seclude himself from everyone to devote himself to prayer, but he did, because he had to show others how they should live in the flesh. And you’re right…no man has seen God. God manifested himself to Moses as a burning bush, for example…he uses certain things to reveal his glory…the same way he used his Son. And yes, John 1:18 does say that that no man has seen God at anytime, but if you continue reading, it also says “18No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.”
About the whole issue of the Sabbath being on a Sunday, it was changed b/c Jesus freed us from the bounds of the law (according to Romans 5,) through the shedding of his blood and through his resurrection. (He did resurrect on a Sunday). The whole Christmas thing…you’re right…it is nowhere to be found into the Bible, and I don’t even want to get into that whole subject matter just because X-Mas has been turned into this whole commercial holiday to celebrate and heighten the world’s economy instead of commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. And who even says that he was born on December 25th? But that is a whole different story in and of itself. X-Mas is supposed to be about Jesus, but sometimes I feel as if Santa is glorified much more
The Bible is authentic, though different sects do choose what portions of the Bible are to be included in their sacred text, (like the Jewish Torah, and the Catholic inclusion of the Apocrypha). However, the Dead Sea Scrolls as well as the original Greek texts of the New Testament are still in existence.
About Moses, David, and all of those early prophets…I do think they will be condemned to hell, but then again, I don’t know. I do not have a correct answer for you about that, but I do have faith that God is a just God, and I don’t think he would do that to servants who were after his own heart.
Hope this cleared some things up, and if not, it’s cool…If we understood everything there was to know about God, then there would not be any room for our faith in him to dwell.

You said the "original greek manuscripts of the NT still exist". Those GREEK manuscripts are the ones that were altered at the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D. Jesus spoke Aramaic (the aramaic word for God ironically is Allaha; Hebrew word for God is Eloh; Arabic word for God- Allah; alot of semetic words are the same or similar)and Hebrew. The language of Christ and his followers at that time was NOT GREEK it was Hebrew/Aramaic, so why would the original scriptures be written in Greek? As history tells us the Roman Empire became dominant post Christ and THIS IS WHEN THE MANUSCRIPTS WERE CHANGED TO GREEK (325 a.d -Council of Nicea)all OLD transcripts in HEBREW/ARAMAIC were burned and destroyed. The problem with Christianity is you guys can NEVER make your case using your "Lord and Saviors" words (Jesus). You say "no man has Seen God" but then you say the remaining scripture explains that Jesus IS GOD. I ask you. If Jesus was God, Does God die? Did Jesus eat? Is God dependant on food, water,sleep or anything? HEAVEN FORBID! Jesus did what Men do, he ate, he slept, he bled, he went to the bathroom and your telling me the PUREST OF ALLTIME, GOD ALMIGHTY used the bathroom? What your pastor doesnt tell you that in the Greek manuscripts the word translated for SON is "PAIS" In Greek "PAIS" MEANS "SERVEANT" not a literal SON. Jesus did not abolish the Law of Moses he lived by it, thats why you wont find him eating pork, fornicating etc. He habitually referred to THAT LAW, so that is substantiation that he was bound by it. Paul came along afterwards and canceled the law due to being a gentile and the law was HARD so Paul abolished the Law of Moses in the name of Jesus.

@hurtmebad: Christmas is celebrated for the birth of Jesus. Some people have lost sight of this and only celebrate for the commercialness of it. Scholars believe Jesus was actually born in the Fall because of when the sheep were herded.

In fact, the Bible FORBIDS Xmas (Jeremiah 10:2-4) That tree God is describing would be a Xmas tree. Jesus NEVER celebrated this holiday (If he did then please show me.The idea of Christmas was borrowed from the Pagans. It is a historical FACT that at the Nicean Council The Church of St. Paul (Trinitarian Church) selected 4 gospels (Math, Mark, Luke,John) out of over 300 other gospels. The four they selected were the ones that most closely conformed to their doctrines. All others were ordered to be destroyed. A few slipped through the cracks like the Gospel Of Barnabas (any of seeker of knowledge please download this gospel and READ it; WOW!!!!!)

THE TESTIMONY OF PASTOR HAGINS' TRANSITION FROM CHRISTIANITY TO AFRIKAN CONSCIOUSNESS By Brother Ray Hagins

My (birth) name is Ray Hagins. My spiritual name is Sa Ra Ankh Hotep Maakheru Setep En Ra (which means “a son of God, who has been chosen by God to be a teacher of truth bringing (or giving) life and peace).” I presently serve as the Chief Elder and Pastor of The Afrikan Village (formerly New Ephesus Missionary Baptist) Church in St. Louis, Missouri.
Many people have asked me about how I made the transition from a Pentecostal minister (who was “sold out” for the so-called gospel of Jesus Christ) to Afrikan conscious minister and warrior for the liberation of Black Afrikan people. After sharing my testimony with another minister, he suggested that I post the testimony of my transition into Afrikan consciousness on the Internet in hopes of inspiring other brothers and sisters who may be at the point of coming into an Afrikan awareness from the quantum deception of European philosophical and religious thought. I pray that my testimony will help to strengthen and inspire others who are at the crossroad of right knowledge.
In 1987 I was invited to a meeting of about 25 Black men (educators, businessmen, community leaders, and 3 ministers) in my hometown of Paterson, New Jersey. Although the meeting had not started, we were informally talking about what needed to be done to enhance our community. Suddenly, I overheard one of the brothers say, "We need to get this European Jesus out of the minds of our people, and realize that the original Christ was named Horus."
I couldn’t believe what I had just heard! Immediately, everything in me shut down and I went into “battle station” mode. I mean, I IMMEDIATELY went to "Def-Con 1" (“Def-Con” is a military phrase, which means "Defense Condition." Def-Con 5 is peacetime, Def-Con 4 is combat preparedness, Def-Con 3 is combat readiness, Def-Con 2 is at combat station, and Def-Con 1 means, “engage the enemy”).
I stepped over to this brother and said, "What do you mean Jesus' name was Horace?" (I thought he was saying H-O-R-A-C-E.) He responded, "It WAS Horus. The first virgin-born, Christ-child was Horus of Egypt and the first record of his birth dates back to over 6,000 years B.C."
Well, I, (with my sincere, but ignorant self), stood in the middle of the floor and said, "Brothers, I am sorry to have to leave, but ANYBODY who refuses to accept who Jesus is a deceiver and is of the devil. I rebuke you in the name of Jesus and I plead the blood of Jesus in this place." (NOTE: I said this because I honestly felt that I was in the midst of satanic agents.) Now, understand, these were Black men who were aware of the truth of our Afrikan history, and I saw my own (Black) brothers as agents of satan!!! Now, did Euro-Gentile Cultural Imperialism and Supremacy (via my "Christian" training) do a job on me or what?
I left that meeting and actually declared war on these men. I misused my radio show (and later my TV show) to blast these men. I felt that it was my "sacred duty" to defend the gospel of Jesus Christ and warn as many people as I could about these Black men (who I genuinely mis-perceived as) agents of the devil. I did this for well over a year.
The 3rd Sunday in March of 1991, as I stood up to preach at my church in Paterson, NJ, just as I was about to read the text for the message, which was Romans 8:28, it seemed as though someone whispered in my right ear, "Did people know God BEFORE Moses went up on the mountain?"
I actually turned around to see who was there because it was just that audible and clear. I told the congregation, "Y'all…wait a minute! This question just popped into my head (then I told them what it was). It wasn't that significant for them, but it was VERY significant for me because ALL of my theology was based in Moses coming down off the mountain with the "Ten Commandments" (or "The Law"). I will never forget that day because it was the day that I began to THINK! I actually exercised my critical thinking faculties and scrutinized what I had been taught all my life.
I asked myself, “Did Moses have a God-consciousness BEFORE talking with God on the mountain?”
A few days later, during my devotions, I stumbled across Acts 7:20-22, which states: "In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father's house three months: And when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son. And Moses was learned in ALL THE WISDOM OF THE EGYPTIANS, and was mighty in words and in deeds."
I looked up the word "wisdom" (as it was used in that particular verse); it comes from the Greek word "sophia," which means, "skill and discretion in imparting the truth of God; the knowledge and practice of the requisites for godly and upright living; supreme intelligence, such as belongs to God; the wisdom of God as evidenced in forming and executing counsels in the formation and government of the world and the scriptures." I said, WAIT A MINUTE!!! Moses got THIS from the Egyptians!!!
(NOTE: Throughout my theological training I was taught that the Egyptians were barbaric, ignorant, enemies of and cursed by God).
Several days later, as I was coming from a meeting in downtown Paterson, my car was parked in front of an old book store that sold used books called Bazaar Books. I had passed this store hundreds of times over the years and NEVER had the slightest inclination to go inside; but this particular day I was "moved" to go inside and browse around. Of course, the only area that really interested me was Religion & Philosophy.
I picked up a book entitled, "Osiris & The Egyptian Resurrection" (Part 1) by E.A. Wallis Budge. The idea of an Egyptian "RESURRECTION" caught my attention. I opened the front cover to the preface and came across the following words:
"The central figure of the ancient Egyptian Religion was Osiris, and the chief fundamentals of his cult were the BELIEF IN HIS DIVINITY, DEATH, RESURRECTION, and absolute control of the destinies of the bodies and souls of men. The central point of each Osirian's Religion was his HOPE OF RESURRECTION IN A TRANSFORMED BODY AND OF IMMORTALITY, WHICH COULD ONLY BE REALIZED BY HIM THROUGH THE DEATH AND RESURRECTION OF OSIRIS.
I literally shouted out, "WHAT IS THIS?" I immediately suffered what we psychologists call "cognitive dissonance." I knew that this was EXACTLY what I had believed since I was a child and preached for almost 20 years, but the central figure of MY belief and message was a man called "Jesus Christ." What really bothered me was, according to what I had been taught, Jesus Christ was the ONLY person about whom such a message applied. Then when I read that this belief system had been with the Nile Valley Afrikans for at least the last 15 to 20 thousand years…I really lost it!!! You see, any scholar of Christianity will tell you that Genesis 1:1 only dates back to 4,004 B.C.
Then, to top it off, I read about the Ancient Afrikan TRINITY; which consisted of Ausar, Aset, and Heru (which the Europeans renamed: Osiris, Isis and HORUS)!!! I came to find out that Horus was the "virgin born, immaculately conceived" son of Osiris. This led me on a sincere and intense search for actual undeniable evidence for the truth.
The more I researched, the more I realized that the entire program that I had been indoctrinated into was a LIE. In 1993, I decided to leave the ministry that I was so popular in and knew so well. I simply could not, any longer, stand in front of my people and teach that which I had found to be a stolen, copied, plagiarized and European fabricated version of the ancient concepts of Afrikan spirituality.
This was the most painful period of my life. At one point I had become so depressed about my believing in LIES that I even had thoughts of suicide. How could I have been so wrong??? I couldn’t understand how I actually experienced “the power of God” moving upon me in mighty and awesome ways in the past IF this was all a lie??? I felt betrayed, humiliated, deceived, confused, unworthy, and like a complete failure.
Now, I wasn’t feeling all this because of the truths that I had come to find out about. No! For these truths were UNDENIABLE EVIDENCES that DEMANDED AN UNDENIABLE and INEVITABLE VERDICT! That verdict was that I had been lied to! I was angry with all those who taught me these lies (my parents, my teachers, my professors, etc.). The ONLY thing that helped me in this area was coming to the realization that the same dog that bit me, bit my parents too! They were only teaching me what they had been taught.
This, however, that doesn’t apply to my seminary professors. I met with my the president of the seminary I graduated from, and asked him, “Why isn’t this information a part of the curriculum and course requirements for a degree in Sacred Literature?” He said to me, “You don’t need to know about that. Besides, it is not substantial data within the context of the mission statement of this institution.” He had just told me, in a politically correct way, that I had been trained in one of the biggest LIES of all time and that I was supposed to perpetuate this LIE and train others in it.
After several years of securing the proper education of right knowledge, I efficaciously returned to the pulpit in February of 1998, when I became the pastor of Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis (which is another discourse all by itself). Through an old wise man, God convicted me in September of 1997 by asking me; “Son, if you young folk, whose eyes have been opened to the truth, abandon our people (who don’t know no better), then what hope is there for us?” Then he said, “God DID call you to preach, but to preach the TRUTH!”
Hence, here I am
My reason for sharing this testimony is NOT to "convert" anyone to African consciousness…but simply to let you know that since the European invasion and theft of our people from our Motherland, we Afrikans have been born and raised in the LIE of European Religious and Cultural Imperialism and we think we are walking in the truth (because it is all that we know)! The religion that we have been made to love (Christianity), was forced upon us by European slave traders and the European “slave masters” who enslaved us. That alone should make EVERY Black man, woman and child be suspect about the slave master's religion.
There is a phrase that says you reap what you sow. Well, that certainly is true, because I have gone (and am going) through the same kind of attack that I viciously put on those brothers who compassionately respected my ignorance in 1987. I wish that I could go back and tell them that I am so sorry for attacking their awareness with my ignorance…but most of them have passed on. So when I give the oath to the Ancestors, I remember them. They were the ones that God used to plant the seed of this truth in me. Now, when I am attacked (by others who are sincerely ignorant), I see my “old” self and where I came from. That helps me to be compassionate on my attackers. I realize that they are sincerely defending what they think is the truth (just like I did).
Coming into a consciousness of your Afrikan self can (and probably will be) very painful for you. I must admit that it’s very painful being called "an antichrist" or "a messenger of satan" or "false prophet," etc., by your own people. It hurts being MISUNDERSTOOD by your family, friends and loved ones, especially when they haven't done (nor are they willing to do) the research and/or learn what you have learned; but, yet you are the one who is "deceived" and don't know what you are talking about. Believe me, THAT HURTS!
Then there are those (Christians) who feel that I “need to be stopped for the sake of the gospel!" But I know that God has called me and given me this assignment… AND I CAN'T STOP! Even if it means loved ones walking away from me and calling me "crazy" (which has happened), or even losing my physical life. And, it’s just THAT serious. The worse pain of all is when your family, friends, loved ones, and others who would misjudge you, REFUSE to do their own research to see for themselves the basis of your information or if what you are saying is true or not.
I have actually pulled books from the libraries of other ministers, turned to the proof or source of the information in question and said, "Here, man. See for yourself.” They would look away and say, "I don't want to see that." I have stood across the desks of several friends (who are pastors) and asked them, “Brother, why are you attacking me when what I have said is right here in the very commentary that you study by and use to prepare your messages?” I understand that the reason they didn’t want to “see” was because then they, too, would be compelled to change, and that is definitely NOT an option for most ministers who can be voted out and/or removed from their pulpits if they do not preach and uphold the “doctrines” of that particular church or denomination.
Another problem that I was faced with was the problem with my music ministry. Over 90% of the songs that I wrote and used to sing, I couldn't sing them anymore. I began to realize that it’s not really about worshipping GOD! It’s about worshipping “Jesus!” Even the biblical text states that Jesus said that NO ONE IS TO BE WORSHIPPED BUT GOD ALONE!!! ("Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and HIM ONLY shalt thou serve") (See Matthew 4:10 and Luke 4:8).
Did you know that (according to the biblical text) Jesus NEVER told his disciples to go preach (or teach) about him! He told his disciples, "As you go, preach, saying, The Kingdom of heaven is at hand" (Matthew 10:7). We have been programmed to give more attention to the so-called "gift" (Jesus) than the giver (God) of the gift. Not only could I not “preach” this Euro-Gentile "program" anymore...I couldn't sing about it either. Being that I was a gospel recording artist and the State Minister of Music for the State of New Jersey Churches of God in Christ, this was REALLY a major adjustment for me.
I painfully learned that my friends were my friends as long as we were in agreement “when it comes to Jesus.” I have been told many times, "The bible says, how can two walk together except they agree." I couldn't understand why other ministers (who I thought were my friends) discontinued our relationship as friends just because I learned something that they didn't know or agreed with??? What did that have to do with me as a person???
In closing, please understand, what God reveals to you, is for YOU! I made the mistake of trying to take others along with me to the next level in MY development. It doesn’t work that way! Realize that if you choose to learn more, you may very well lose some of your closest friends. You will want to take them to the next level with you, but realize that God is taking YOU there...not y'all there.
I pray that this testimony is helpful to some brother or sister who is making their transition to Afrikan consciousness. Stay strong, Brothers and Sisters, and always know that the Creator and the Ancestors are with you!
