According to reports, Carmelo asked La La to come pick him up from the jail - but she reportedly refused. According to Denver's WKGN, the police apparently had to drive Carmelo to a hotel after he was processed ....

The NBA star reiterated his love for Vazquez in his own statement to PEOPLE: "LaLa continues to be a rock in my life, she's always been there for me through thick and thin."
The couple have a child together, 1-year-old son Kiyan. Vazquez will soon costar in the movie Let the Church Say Amen and will host and executive produce VH1's upcoming reality show The Sixth Man.

I have been keeping my comments to myself, these stories haven't really been news. But I must put this out there. First, Mello is stupid if he's driving out in Denver by himself drunk. He makes more than enough money to have a personal driver and/or a body guard to take him anywhere he want's to go. Second, and this is most important, La La needed to either get her a$$ up and get her cash cow out of jail, or send someone else to do it. Detective Sharon Hahn said Anthony was arrested after he failed a series of sobriety tests and was taken to police headquarters and booked.
Hahn said a police sergeant then drove Anthony to the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Denver. Hahn said it's her understanding that Anthony's fiancee LaLa Vazquez couldn't pick him up because of child-care issues. The couple have a young son together.
"I want to make sure the public understands that I fully support my fiance, Carmelo Anthony, and stand by him through this ordeal," Vazquez said in a statement. "I will always have his back and never refused to pick him up from the police station. In fact, they offered to bring him to me."
Anthony said he appreciated her support.
"LaLa continues to be a rock in my life, she's always been there for me through thick and thin," Anthony said in a release.
