I'm sorry to sound racist but this is a culture that celebrates a girl turning '15' because now she is ready for sex and marriage. It's just not cool. And living in Phoenix I see these pervs all the time checking out little girls. When my sister lived in Vegas, she told me that Mexican men were always checking out my then six year old niece, I told her she was being racist until I came to visit and took my neice out to see all the sites for children. These men did not even try to hide it. They stared so openly it made me nauseous! My niece is now 12 and my younger niece is 6 and my sis lives in Texas with her fiance' and more than once he has had to tell mexican men to get away from them because they've actually tried to touch them! This is a very laid back man and he has almost gotten in fights over his 12 and 6 year old daughters!!! Yes there are pedophiles of every race, but most of them are sneaky and closeted because they know it's sick and against the law. Mexican men seem to think it's perfectly normal to be with a child. I'm sorry but whenever I see a single Mexican mother with little girls I can't help but worry that mom's next boyfriend or husband might try to rape them and it pisses me off!!! In this very sick case I'm guessing the child was also Mexican and maybe her probably very catholic mother didn't believe in abortion. I just can't believe there's a father anywhere in the picture and that man is still alive. This story is so tragic. I pray for the little girl and her family. It's traumatic enough to be raped but then to have to give birth at such a young age.
And as for folks making it a race issue, are you serious? These are the same comments racist white people make about blacks before proclaiming "go back to Africa". It always amazes me just how bigoted we can be but then we expect other races to treat us with respect. If this little girl gave birth on time assuming she didn't give birth premature, then she would have had to have gotten pregnant in August of last year. Not between November & January.
