: MediaTakeOut.com told you months ago that Queen Latifah and her girlfriend - personal trainer Jeanette Jenkins were engaged. Well now, we're hearing that the two are all set to get hitched. Here's what the National Enquirer is reporting:
[Queen Latifah] who lives with her fiancée at homes in New Jerset and Los Angeles, is planning an intimate cerempny with close family and friends, say sources.Congrats you two ... and HOW YOU DOIN?????"Queen is very busy with her career, so she wants to wait to set a date until she has time for a honeymoon," revealed a family insider.
"The two are being very secretive about the upcoming ceremony and have only told immediate family members. Queen is concerned about her career. She knows people's attitude toward gay relationships and marriages are changing, but there is still some resistance, so she wants to keep a low profile."
Please keep it low profile. I don't want to read about this. I want to imagine her being real when she plays LL's love interest in a movie. If she comes out of the closet I will never take her seriously in a heterosexual role again.
Look at Ellen Degeneres and her celebrated gay life. She rammed that down the American throat. Now when I see her she represents nothing but the gay community. She can't play anyone's wife or girlfriend. Even in a regular movie she fits the 'gay' best friend.
Queen Latifah has done too much in her career--Revlon, heterosexual characters in film and TV, etc., to lock in her image in one category.

Yes, i believe that she's homosexual, yes, i believe it's a sin, but no one is God, which means you don't have the right to judge. @focus, don't use my girl Ellen Degeneres as an example unless you know her body of work. Her talk show is number 2 only to Oprah, so i'd say she's quite successful. Before she said she was gay, her sitcom was doing ok in the ratings, but not as good as after. If you ever saw the show or any of her movies, you would know that they weren't that successful, probably due to the fact that she was uncomfortable as hell fakin it! Now that she is comfortable in her own skin, she is working much more(commercials, endorsements, etc.) and i'm sure she's happy with her decision. By the way, tell me Queen didn't play the hell outta Cleo? Didn't she seem so at home in that role?.... If she came out, we don't know how the world would react, but hopefully she'll do what will help her live life to the fullest, no matter what anyone thinks about it....

No, I can't imagine Ellen playing anyone's wife or girlfriend on TV or in a movie because she's been adamant about shoving her sexuality down America's throat. She got exactly what she wanted and is now seen as nothing but a lesbian.
As for Ellen's TV show, that's a totally different forum. You're comparing apples and oranges. It's totally different to sit down and chat about topics than play a character on screen and it has absolutely nothing to do with being real to herself.
I believe this gay marriage thing is becoming so acceptable because more gays are becoming CEO's of companies, politicians, managers, etc., and not coming out until after they get their positions. Once they're stable in these positions they push their agenda. San Francisco is a major example of this.
Certain celebrities don't need to come at us one way and then decide to become someone else. I look at Queen Latifah as a great actress and pretty spokesperson for Revlon and her commercials. I don't need to know anything about a marriage to her girlfriend.
I'm very serious when I say had Luther come out of the closet, his records would've dropped off. However, the man loved his career and had self respect and didn't bring out his alternative lifestyle demanding that the public accept it.

If I were a gay celeb, I'd keep it to myself. Whether anyone wants to agree with whether someone is born that way or it is learned, it is an alternative lifestyle and my opinion has nothing to do with religion.
