In it Usher makes some startling revelations. For example, MediaTakeOut.com has learned that Usher disclosed to Cosmopolitan that he has a difficult time being faithful to one woman. The singer was quoted as saying, "I’m good at making love, but I’m not good at being in love. It’s a conscious decision every day to love the person you’re with."

That is a good question. I really don't have a good answer for that. All I know is that women and men have a different chemical make-up. When you see women who are very promiscuous, they usually are looking for someone to take care of them or they are not where they want to be in life. I think a woman being powerful has the opposite affect as it has on a man. A powerful woman has what she needs financially and career-wise so she feels secure enough to pick and choose her mates carefully. I mean you hear how many powerful women say they have a hard time dating or finding a mate etc. because men tend to be intimidated by them. On the otherhand, men get money and power and women flock to them, which I think has a direct effect on them having a hard time staying faithful/monogamous.

It's just my opinion, but I think a lot of men don't really want to get married, but they feel pressure from their girl to do it since they've been together for 4,5,6,7 years. Then, after they're married, nothing really changed, except they have a piece of paper. They still have the urge to chase skirts.

First, folks that say its hard for men to stay faithful because of all the opportunities out there act as if the same thing doesn't apply to women. We get di@k coming at us from every direction and there's just as much temptation. Society and parents train young women to be more conservative sexually and that's why we don't mount anything with a pulse, but that doesn't mean we don't have the drive or inclination to do so. Which is where the last part of Usher's quote comes into play. There's temptation around every corner, but if you're in a committed relationship you remind yourself of all the things your mate means to you and you keep it zipped up. We're all human and fallible, but the way you keep from straying is training yourself to appreciate what you have at home and removing yourself from temptation. (Thinking of the 80/20 rule usually keeps you grounded.)

What is different among people is the way they are trained up, not their chemical make up and not their power status. Some people with power will not "spread their seed around", because they have been taught about the importance of who you choose to lay with and what you are giving in exchange and others see it differently.
The bottom line is that if you are not willing to commit yourself to one person in that union, then make a decision like an adult and don't get married.

How can you make a "conscience effort" to love someone that you should already love in the first place. If he has to consciously remind himself that he love her, then he should have never gotten married. When you love someone, it's from the heart (subconsciously). You don't have to constantly keep reminding urself, it's just there. By that comment Usher gave himself away that he wasn't fully ready to settle down. Seems like he got married under some form of pressure. Whatever it was, it's always best to be sure you're ready for marriage and not pressured into it.
That's true of "ereday" married couples - being married is HARD, and it takes a lot of effort. So I'm sure celebrities have it a lot harder because of groupies and such.
I feel Usher - he's simply being honest, and that's 1/2 the battle. If you can admit to yourself and your spouse that you are still attracted to other people, then you're conscious of it and less likely to slip up. He has a song on his CD that speaks to it perfectly. Ursh THE MAN IS IN THE HOUSE!

Usher is a superstar and being as big and as popular as he is, how could you expect anything less from him. He was never ready in the first place. And know he will be judge on the merits of his actions because he got married. Marrige is for serious and committed people. I happen to think its an awful concept for celeberties. i.e. kobe, nick cannon, usher, jay z, and the list goes on. Anybody could fall in love but it takes strong and committed people to get married.
