He came from the hood, made his own beats, made up a new saying, new sound and a new dance with one song.We agree with what Kanye said ... up until he started comparing Soulja Boy to Nas. If Kanye said this then that's his opinion. Is there a problem in music,yes, but unil everyone can pull together nothing will change. Does anyone see blacks being a "community" anytime soon. Nothing can change without a movement. Until we can put our differences aside and agree on a common goal we will all continue on a destructive path. Everyone is about themselves and money today and until people can see past this history will continue to repeat itself. These songs are garbage, but no one really cares about that, it's not even really about the songs. It's about having a stronger community where you have people telling you and showing you the right path. It really does take a village and at one point and time we actually cared about eachother and looked out for eachother. You have to be willing to sit down and talk to your elders believe it or not they will share a lot of wisdom if you are open to hearing it. Somehow we got disconnected from eachother and until we can connect again we will continue destroying ourselves. All you have to do is talk to these young people and they will tell you that they don't feel like anyone cares so they don't either. Most of them are receptive to talking to you if you come at them the right way. They are looking for someone who cares. I think we have a long way to go to heal but if we can all agree to start the process then that would be great.

Anyone in their right mind knows Kanye is NOT comparing Soulja Boy to Nas in a lyrical sense. He's comparing them in a creative sense. Meaning both of them are original in their styles of music. Like Nas, Soulja Boy created his own style of music and had huge success off it. He took a song that had a hidden meaning behind it (a very hidden one lol), added his own beat, created a dance, and it became a mega hit amongst all nationalities, not just in the black community. And thats only off one song, not including the other ones. However, I don't understand why other rappers like to call out solider boy as "killing hip hop". Is it becoz he's only 17 and the soulja boy craze has taken over? He is not for everyone to listen to. He has a certain demographic. I am not a fan of his, but his songs are catchy and I understand that kids love him. I can recall being a kid too and listening to songs for their fun nature, not for their lyrical content. People need to understand that he is a POP RAPPER. His music is more about hype and fun...not lyrics. If alot of these older cats will understand that, they will stop ***...coz really...it makes THEM look bad.
