yea she's definitely doing her thing. the girl is extremely driven and usually gets what she wants. i personally dont think it'll go straight to dvd but i dont think it'll be recognized well at the box office. she does have a few big names in this movie but other actors/actresses such as JAMIE FOXX in KINGDOM COME didnt do well in that movie. as someone else posted earlier, certainly not a hater or supporter. if her acting hasnt gotten any better, she should stick to what she does best. she's determined but sometimes determination isnt profitable in all areas. she's doing an opening act tonight with usher and lil wayne, so we know she's going to try and kill'em. big studios are not going to take a chance on Beyonce starring in a movie..only if shes the supporting cast..so I have to agree with MTO, this movie is probably a low budget or straight to DVD movie because the list of actors doesnt seem very big budget to me..either that, or its a Tyler Perry movie..lol..shes a trained singer, so theyre not going to take a chance and spend big money on something that might not turn out well..now someone like Angela Basset, who can act her ass off, is worth spending time and money on..but Beyonce is too much of a risk..she wasnt that good in Dreamgirls and she was terrible in Austin Powers..does anyone remember that? lol..anyway Mariah Carey is a superstar but no one in the movie biz will risk money on her starring in their movie either..she had to resort to some extremely low budget independent film because they dont have much to lose..these big studios dont have the luxury of trying something to see if it will work..they can lose big money and credibility when a movie flops..there are a few studios that have closed down already..its not like back in the day..people will only go to the movies to see the blockbusters, the big films, the popular franchises..other than that, they will buy the bootleg, download it on the internet, or wait til it comes on cable..the movies is too damn expensive these days..I dont think Beyonce can carry a movie yet..she has to prove herself first before people can believe her enough to spend their $10.75 |
