: MediaTakeOut.com just caught wind that G-Unit's new album Terminate On Sight is going to sell far more the execs over at Interscope imagined. According to the record label's projections Terminate On Sight could sell more than 700,000 units. We say "could sell" because it's not clear that the label even produced 700,000 units to be sold.
How can MediaTakeOut.com be so sure of what we're saying .... well because an email was sent out last week from a Interscope exec who said exactly that. Here's the email in its entirety:
From: xxxxxx@umusic.com Sent: Fri Jun 27 16:13:53 2008 Subject:Guys we understand u are pissed, all we can say is 2nd week #s will be out of here.
We acknowledge we SIGNIFICANTLY underestimated the G unit fan base and online awareness. Therefore we have ordered an immediate increase in production, effective 9am today. Early first week estimates stand at around 700K to 800K US.... We are working to rectify the international shortcomings and put product in place by early next week. Don will be in touch.
We don't understand. 50 Cent and G-Unit are among the most popular hip hop artists in the world. How can someone at the label underestimate their sales? 50 has the right to spazz out and bust somebody in the head....
Our advice to all you G-Unit fans - go out and get a copy of the album FAST ... while supplies last ....

but that would be a huge dissappointment if the retailers didn't have enough copies of the music in order to feed the supply & demand...i dont know whats up with these label's nowadays..there ill equipped to actually propelling people's careers where they need to be...its all about that one hit wonder sh-it we live in a "MICROWAVEABLE SOCIETY"!
That's crazy! 50 don't get no bump in the hood anymore, but every album he drops still goes platinum. You got to understand that 50 and G-Unit have a very loyal fan base (the white people, lmao!) And as long as u got them on your side your album is going to sell. Am I the only one that is confused about how the hell 50 has all this power in the industry that he does?
50 and his team are smart this is just another way 50 gains momentum to leave the company when the album doesn't sell he can blame interscope once again ,the singles for the album aren't even on the radio like that and he knows it will flop so he put it out there ahead of the reports how does a e-mail like that get leaked? they send hundreds of those daily but this 1 some how got out there ,they believe in the power of the rumor mill

Sorry badboy i beat you to it. i listen to the album and i must say it ok, not the best that could have put forward some of the beats were good but not the kind that's a hit(sorry 50) so i give it a 3 stars. it may sell but we aren't going to buy , i'm a big 50 cent fan and tried my best to like it but it's a average album. i highly doubt it will sell that much. so until next Tuesday see you my peeps.
