: Oh My!! MediaTakeOut.com just caught wind of a report that claims that R&B singer Whitney Houston's voice was devastated from years of smoking crack. And that she had to take voice lessons to relearn how to sing.
Here's how the UK paper The Mirror is putting it:
[Whitney's] years of drug abuse had ravaged her vocal cords so badly that when she hit the studio she sounded less like The Greatest Voice Of All and move like Mavis the karaoke queen down your local.Word is that the singing lessons worked and that she sounds way better now. We'll see ... her new album is out later this year....She couldn't even hold the high notes of her own song I Will Always Love You. So top music industry exec Clive Davis insisted she have singing lessons.
"She was smoking a lot and taking a lot of drugs. Her voice was almost unrecognizable. Thousands have been shelled out to train her back up to the original.

It's PLENTY of videos on Youtube of some of Whitney's recent performances, and she's HITTING & HOLDING NOTES like always! Anyone that knows anything about singing, know that the voice is a muscle, and u have to treat and repair it like any other muscle that has had some damage done to it! So, why would this be a SHOCKER, that Whitney had to repair her voice?!?!?!? Clive needs to give this advice to that FUNCTIONING CRACK/HERION/PCP JUNKIE known as Mary J. Blige and the MENTAL BREAKDOWN having PSYCHO AZZ Mariah Carey! Until there is 100% PROOF that Whitney was on Crack.....I'm sticking with she was SNIFFING COKE! Which lately seems to be the norm for people! LMAO!
WHITNEY IS THE BEST!! PERIOD!!! she had a down time in her life- like the GREATEST do- but in any event- THE GIRL IS BACK!!! and thats what matters... Her voice sounds OUTSTANDING...check out her last performance overseas recently- NO SINGER CAN TOUCH WHITNEY- even when she was using heavy drugs!!!!! and thats whats sad....

Her days as being a superstar are done. Even if she so called "re-learns" how to sing the only thing that will be waiting for her is a 4 night a week stint at a Las Vegas casino. any drug can destroy your vocal cords if you overdose on them. smoking anything because of the heat of the fire can absolutely harm your vocal cords and cause polyps and vocal nodes. I knew she had them when she sang its alright but its ok...would only sing low riffs. even now she takes all of her songs in a lower key which proves to the musical ear that her high notes are shot...just like natalie cole...chaka khan was the only one whos voice was saved because she had her nodes surgically removed according to her biography Thru the Fire.
She dropped some albums while w/ Bobby, her voice was phenomenal & seemed to supercede any drug habit. Clive, as a good manager, just wants to ensure that the damage is annhilated & that she is afforded her top performance. He could've kicked her to the curb...Why he's going all out for Whitney, because she's like a daughter to him, she has a beautiful gift from God, made him lots of money, & he's seen her evolve. On the Bobby Brown Show Whitney, sang a capella & she still has it.
Do mediatakeout not know who that is up that on that picture. That's Whitney Houston a women who never had to get taught to sing with a voice of an angel that's a voice she was born with. So they can take that resing [EXPLETIVE] and shove it where the sun don't shine. Whitney has been my favorite singer of all times I love her for her perfections and imperfections I Love You Whitney. If you don't ever make another album no one can get on your level not even on your bad day.
Whitney's voice is so great.... She can still sing with the "cracked-out" voice... her voice is so much more advanced...still... than Mary J, Janet J., and Mz. Keisha Cole ain't got a chance!! It's all good, I love my sitahs, but they don't all have, what you call a "SAANNNGGAN" voice like Whitney!!!! :))
