: NEW YORK (AP) — Cosmetics giant L'Oreal is denying it lightened Beyonce's skin tone in an ad.
"We highly value our relationship with Ms. Knowles. It is categorically untrue that L'Oreal Paris altered Ms. Knowles' features or skin tone in the campaign for Feria hair color," the Paris-based company said in a statement sent to the Associated Press through the singer's representative.
The ad is in the current edition of Elle magazine.
L'Oreal, the maker of Garnier hair care and Lancome cosmetics, is the world's largest cosmetics maker.
A representative for Beyonce said the singer would have no comment beyond L'Oreal's statement.
Beyonce has been a spokeswoman for L'Oreal since 2001.
Honestly, if she is supposed to be advertising that shade of hair, maybe the hair is doing something to her complexion. And maybe, just maybe, the lighting was off...and I don't know if anybody else noticed this but the last time she performed live, with Celine Dion, I could've SWORN she got a nose job! what was that? the Oscars, or the Academy...idk what it was, alli know is she may have REALLY gotten a nose job...herself. Im not colored struck, I have 6 sibling and 3 dark skinned and 3 light skinned. I perfer darker skin chicks over lighter ones.
On my moms side, we have various shades of people.
My dads side is the creole side and most of his family looks all white and the one who do look black have blue and green eyes with straight hair. My DADS brother is dark skinned with straight hair and my dads other brother looks and could pass for all white if he didn't tell people he is black. I mean he has blue eyes and blond hair straight.
Thats what I meant by creole features. People think my dad is white, I have to tell people he is black.
I really dont know much of my dads side because I stay closer to my moms people, so I went to a wedding my dads side of the family and the people looked all white and Hispanic, but mostly white, and the one who did look black had straight hair and blue or greens eyes. Umm so what is wrong with being proud of having Creole heritage? It is not shameful so if that is her family histroy then why not be proud of it? She is and has always been fair skinned, weather she seems a little more tan here and there is a matter of opinion. I have 2 girls who are very fair and whose complexions can range from very fair to a light caramel, depending on lighting, sun exposure and a host of other variables. I find it wrong to down her for being proud of her Creole heritage. There are dark Creoles but typically when you see or hear of a Creole person, you find them to be of a lighter complexion. We should be proud and rep whatever our family history is. If it is Creole, great, be proud sing a song about it, if it is African, be proud, Latina, White whatever.
And It is not like she talks about being Creole incesantly, in a few interviews but don't act like it is all she talks about and don't reprimand her for being proud of her heritage...
