: Don't ask Rick Ross about his corrections officer past ... if you know what's good for you. MediaTakeOut.com just learned that street DVD filmmaker DJ Vlad was viciously assaulted by Rick Ross and his minions earlier this week. Apparently Vlad caught up with Ross at the hip hop Ozone Awards and tried to get a videotaped interview when things went left.
And in case you're wondering Vlad is fighting back. He's got a legal team ready and they filed a $4 million lawsuit against Ross.
Here's how Vlad and his lawyers explain what happened:
On August 15, 2008, a multimillion dollar assault and battery lawsuit was filed in the Federal District Court for the Southern District of New York by DJ Vlad (Vlad Lyubovny) against platinum recording artist Rich Ross (“William Leonard Roberts II”) stemming from an incident that took place on August 10, 2008 at the Ozone Awards in Houston, Texas. In the complaint, it is alleged that Rick Ross orchestrated a brutal attack upon DJ Vlad carried out by his accomplices in retribution for media coverage of Rick Ross’ prior life as a correctional officer.Ricky Ross ... things just went from bad to worse in your career bruh!!!The injuries alleged to have been sustained as a result of the assault include, 7 stitches below the eye, 3 fractures to the face, a corneal abrasion and possible permanent nerve damage. The complaint seeks $ 2,000,000 in compensatory damages and $2,000,000 in punitive damages.
NO NO NO!!! You got the story all wrong. I was there. This is how it went down:
DJ Vlad was loitering outside of the OZONE Awards which is a violation of section "1.2 Loitering and Trespassing" of the Correctional Officer Handbook. Officer Ross noticed the smell of reefer on DJ Vlad so he patted him down, and used drug sniffing dogs to confiscate the paraphanlia. DJ Vlad was uncooperative and Officer Ross felt threatened. So Officer Ross closed down the parameters, attacked Vlad with a stun gun and pepper spray, called for backup and made the arrest.
No Vlad is claiming that Officer Ross' actions were unnecessary and that he is a victim of police brutality.

Popular personality DJ Vlad has filed a $4 million dollar assault and battery lawsuit against rapper Rick Ross, stemming from an altercation at the Ozone Awards (August 10).
In federal documents filed yesterday in NY District Court, DJ Vlad, born Vlad Lyubovny, alleges that “with calculated planning, Rick Ross lured DJ Vlad to a meeting for the purpose of obtaining retribution.
At that meeting, Rick Ross’ entourage of thugs carried out Rick Ross’ wishes in his presence and severely beat DJ Vlad causing permanent bodily injury.”
According to Vlad, the beating was due to his coverage on Vladtv.com of reports that Ross previously worked as a correction officer.
The attack has left Vlad with 7 stitches below the eye, three fractures to the face, a corneal abrasion and possible permanent nerve damage.
The court documents also claim that Ross sent text messages to Vlad that preceded that attack.
“N*ggas will learn…trillaaa,” Ross is alleged to have sent to Vlad. “I’m hearing things about me on your website. We gonna make a story. We gonna see each other. We going to talk. Where are you?”
In the lawsuit, DJ Vlad states he thought the purpose of the meeting was to give Ross the chance to tell his side in an exclusive story.
After a brief conversation, Vlad charges that the Miami rapper bluntly stated “we got beef” and “Ross’ accomplices, who had surrounded DJ Vlad while he spoke with Ross, proceeded to strike and beat DJ Vlad in Ross’ presence and without any protest on Ross’ part.”
Rick Ross’ latest album Trilla was released in March and has sold over 600,000 copies.
DJ Vlad currently runs the news site Vladtv.com out of New York City which provides interviews and information on Hip-Hop artists.
At press time Rick Ross could not be reached for comment on the lawsuit, which seeks $2 million dollars in punitive damages and and $2 million in compensatory damages
