: MediaTakeOut.com caught wind that Forbes Magazine has put out it's to 20 earners in hip hop. We looked over the numbers quoted by the business magazine and nearly laughed so hard that we fell into tears.
We can say from firsthand info that the numbers on the first two (50 and Jay Zs) are WAAAAAAYYYY off. And while we're not as sure about the rest, when you start saying that The Game - who didn't even release an album in 2007 - earned $10 million, we have to just shake our heads.
Here's the list:

Why is is so hard to believe that 50 made more money than Jay? People act like Jay is the only rapper or businessman that is raking in the dough. Anyway alot of you forget to take in to account endorsememt deals, as well as behind the scene production work,royalties from creative input, writing credits, etc, all shyt people with good lawyers make sure they get paid for. They alos make money from buying and trading stocks, investing and all that good stuff their financial advisors tell them to get their bank up.
Again MTO makes a claim and provides no proof to back it up. So how do you guys know that 50 and Jay Z didn't make what was claimed?
50 was filming multiple movies last year, had oversea tours as well as other business dealings.
Jay-Z did a few concerts, got the 40/40 which is about to be sold and signed a deal with Live Nation and reported signed a deal with Apple Itunes

This is why it is so important to maintain a good reputation...endorsements are longer term than albums...especially in this day and age of bootlegging...also getting involved in more than one business venture is a MUST...never put all your eggs in one basket!

On one hand, it is good to see young Black men pulling in these kinds of numbers. On the other hand, half of the people on the list have cooned and jigged their way to the top, helping to perpetuate stereotypes that eventually set us all back. It's a good look from a financial standpoint, but some of those guys (like the grinning King of the Coons at the top op the page) do more harm than good when it comes to the perception of the Black man.
All these Negroes many all this money.... I am not impressed! What are they doing with this money besides flossing and spending it on nonsense like jewelry and crap? What are they doing to improve the ghettos that they come from? ...always shoutin' "Brooklyn!" Have any of them opened Day Care centers OR schools in their hoods? Are any of them creating sensible jobs for the men in their communities so they won't resort to a life of crime and end up in prison?
