: It appears that not everyone is looking overseas to adopt a child. MediaTakeOut.com is hearing whispers that Queen Latifah and her longtime partner Jeanette Jenkins are in the early stages of adopting an African American child.
Word on the street is that the two ladies are fairly deep into the process but are trying to keep everything hush-hush. And that if they're lucky enough to make it through the grueling process, they don't plan on talking publicly about it.
Good to see that The Queen and Jeanette are looking to spread some of their love and wealth. Now when's the wedding LADIES????

I am still over whelmed with this whole idea of the Queen and her life style...I mean some girls do tend to grow up as tomboys but who would of thought that she would be so deep into this world she calls love....and especially with another woman. Point #1:MEMPHIS, TN – Police say a father has been charged with First Degree Murder after his 3 month-old daughter died from head injuries.
According to investigators, officers were called to the Highland Creek Apartments in the 1300 block of Elmview, Monday, August 18, 2008, around 9:00 p.m., about a baby who was not breathing. When police arrived on the scene, they found 3 month-old Jalissa Fuller dead in an upstairs bedroom.
The baby’s mother told investigators that she went to work around 5:30 a.m. that morning, leaving her two children with their father, Julius Fuller. She says when she got home around 8:50 that night, she found the baby unconscious and called for an ambulance.
Detectives say Julius Fuller was at a friend’s home while investigators were at the apartment and refused to return as long as police were in the apartment. Fuller was arrested the next day.
The Shelby County Medical Examiner’s Office says that the three month-old died from blunt force trauma to the head.
The Memphis Child Advocacy Center will be raising a memorial flag for Jalissa Fuller, Friday, August 22. Center officials say this will be the ninth flag to be raised for children who have died as a result of abuse in 2008.
Point #2: The city returned 2-year-old Jashya Brown to his troubled mother just a month ago. Now he's dead - his body covered in bruises and tiny bite marks and his death shrouded in mystery.
Jashya, who died late Monday at the Queens home he barely knew, was just a baby in 2006 when the Administration for Children's Services removed him after his mother, Sharee Brown, was charged with abuse, law enforcement sources said.
He was returned to his 20-year-old mom in July, and a foster care worker visited the Far Rockaway home last Wednesday - just days before the tragic death.
It wasn't immediately clear how Jashya died. Investigators were trying to determine if the child was murdered - the victim of his mother, her boyfriend or, stunningly, his 5-year-old brother.
The cuts, bruises and bite marks on his body were consistent with those a small child might inflict, sources said. Sharee Brown told police the toddler was wrestling with his older brother before he died. The Daily News is withholding the older boy's name.
Though initially skeptical of Brown's claims, detectives could not rule out that the older boy might have accidentally killed his brother with a pro wrestling-style body slam.
"Mom has a history with this kid, but some of the older boy's statements are disturbing," a police source said.

A child an have good parents, regardless of the gender of each parent ... A GOOD PERSON = A GOOD PERSON ... i was using an analogy. its good for anyone to want and actually parent whether biologically or through adoption, etc. but just like a device you may use parts that were not reccomended and the device may function even good, but of course things can go wrong in the future. if you use the reccommended pieces that the manual or the manufacturer suggests, the device will run the way its suppose to at maximum peak. God has provided his manual for us the Bible and it gives counsel to men or husbands and women or wives on how to be successful in their marriage and how to raise and be successful parents to their children. i'm not saying two alternative lifestlyle people cant do a great job. if they adopt thats fantastic, but again all of us if we have children, have a responsibility to teach our children, especially morally and spiritually. the best way and only way is from the Bible. i am not here to judge anyone, but the scriptures is quite clear on what God accepts and do not approve of. its up to us to decide if we will follow his guidance and regulations or not.

I understand everyone has their views on this, but "wickedness" to me is the mother that has 5 children that she can't afford and continues to sleep with men to stay on welfare and soak up money that they doesn't earn from people like me that do the right thing.

It would be IDEAL to have a two-parent household, provided the kids are loved & it's healthy. But in today's world, the ideal isn't always upheld. Rapper Da Brat has been sentenced to three years in prison for striking a waitress with a rum bottle at a nightclub last year.
A Superior Court Judge ruled on Friday the hip-hop hitmaker - real name Shawntae Harris - will also serve seven years probation and 200 hours of community service for the incident in addition to her jail time.
Harris, 34, was involved in the altercation at a Halloween party at Studio 72 nightclub in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 31, 2007.
The pair were reported by police to have gotten into an altercation prior to the assault - resulting in the victim's hospitalization and permanent facial scarring.
Harris entered a guilty plea to aggravated assault in the case.
According to reports, the rapper pleaded to her weeping family as she was led out of the courtroom, saying: "I love y'all."
Harris was previously convicted in 2000 for misdemeanor reckless conduct.
