According to the National Enquirer, Gov Palin cheated on her husband with his friend and business partner. Here's their exact quote:

what is truly interesting about this whole entire thing is that it shows that John McCain has a judgement problem. It's obvious from all the dirt that is surfacing that his decision was one based on trying to go after the all important 18 million seemingly disenfranchised Hilary voters. He tried to appeal to those who felt that they were cheated out of making history by having a woman in the White House, because Obama didn't pick Hilary. The vetting process should have been much more thorough. Did they go easy on her because she is a woman, has a family with small children? Well, she is a public official who is just as much accountable to her constituency and the people she governs as the next man. They talk about the press going easy on Obama. Obama just said, I'm fair game, leave my wife and children alone. They would have you think that he is going after her, when in actuality, her skeletons are bursting out of the closet on their own. When you do something that's not quite right, you have to follow it with more lies, half truths, and stories. Eventually, they all come out in the wash. Though her trangressions make her human and just like all the rest of us, it's the way this whole thing was handled that will be their undoing. You can't make a decision as important as this one without taking everything into careful consideration. this one is going to bite them in the behind in November. While she is charismatic, a good, strong speaker and obviously accomplished in her career and work life, it's not enough to prepare her for the second most important job in this country. Obama is not very experienced either, but in a situation like that, your choice has to be stronger than you. You must pick someone that will counter the attacks against your inexperience. Obama has leadership qualities, hands down, but his VP candidate has the foreign policy experience that he lacks and served many years in his post which makes him an excellent choice for the second most important job in this country. Sarah Palin needs to go back to the Great State of Alaska and get her house in order. Not saying that she is supposed to be perfect, none of us are. But it's just that the McCain camp should have vetted her more thoroughly. They weren't even ready for the drama that this choice brings...
Please remember that the national enquirer has broken quite a few stories on politicians. you all might be young to remember but they were the ones who broke the Gary Hart (he was running for president i think in '88) and was caught in an affair. They also broke the Jesse Jackson affair and love child, they broke the Clintons shady business dealings back when he ran, and most recently the John Edwards affair. They were relentless and they stayed on it, until he confessed.

Obama and his campaign are right to stay above the fray. The mainstream media are slowly doing the vetting that McCain did not do. This woman is a member of a church that believe the Iraq war is God's plan. She has encouraged her church members to pray for a pipeline. She is literally up to her ears in earmarks, some of which John McCain himself is against. This is interesting because that has been part of the McCain/Palin ticket. They are branding themselves as reformers. They are really the odd couple.
I know we don't vote on perfect families, but if you listened to this woman last night, it didn't take her long to learn to hate!
She made no mention of what the McCain/Palin ticket will do for the folks in small towns that they were playing up last night. There was not one line on healthcare, nothing on education, except to mock Obama for getting a good one. Nothing on creating jobs, nada, zilch, zero!

Actually this IS a legitimate issue. One of the three reasons McCain selected Palin was in an effort to appeal to the conservative evangelist base. Palin was presented or at least they intended to present her as some morally superior super mom with impeccable family values. In fact the whole strategy smacks of “sexism” and unfortunately for the McCain campaign, due to their poor background check and desperation, it is blowing up in their face. So the blame is NOT the media, rag mags or even MTO…John’s campaign made this a talking point without any serious consideration or apparently knowledge of the facts his game plan would expose.

For those of you who seem so enamored with Gov. Sarah Palin, it might be worth noting that she oversees the budget for the Department of Education and Early Development Special Schools in Alaska. These funds provide supplementary educational services to students with severe disabling conditions and the Alaska Challenge Youth Academy. The resident school where the child would normally be placed does not have the resources to provide an adequate educational program. Without the supplementary services the child’s needs would not be met by the local school district in most cases. Gov. Palin insulted me the very first day I heard her speak. When she referenced Hiliary Clinton and the 18 million cracks in the glass ceiling, she insinuated that women would be drawn to her simply because she is a woman. As an African American female and once a Hiliary Clinton backer, that was the equivalent to Sen. Obama assuming that all African Americans would vote for him because he is black.
Then last night, she did it again. Her flaunting of her family crisis ( a teenage pregnancy is a crisis, no matter how the RNC tries to glamorize it) and the cynical tone of her speech was embrassing, especially for women. It was as if she felt that being a woman gives her a pass when it comes to her obvious flaws. Her be-speckled past; her political blunders (Troopergate and the Bridge to Nowhere) and her overall lack of understanding of the issues (being close to Russia does not give you foreign policy experience, duh) makes me quiver with shame.
How can you teach creationism along with the theory of evolution? Isn't creationism the core foundation of religion (for any faith)? Isn't that in direct conflict with the constitution of the United States of America? Shouldn't a politician be able to separate personal beliefs from their duty to uphold that sacred aforementioned document? Or is that something she wants to change too?
How can a mother with three daughters and two sons coming of age in today's world oppose sex education in public schools? When children are bombarded with "sex" everyday, through the internet, television ads, magazines and even the books that they read in school, shouldn't we educate them on what they need to know to stay safe? As a mother, shouldn't she have educated her child on the dangers of sex? Frankly her daughter is lucky she only got pregnant.
And another thing; since when does a shotgun wedding make a teen pregnancy legitimate? Does the RNC think that the American people are idiots? Since when does pregnancy lay the foundation of a good marriage? Good Lord!!! Am I the only person that sees the glaring contradictions in this woman's claims of being prepared to lead?
If she endorses poor choices for her family, what do you think she is going to do for this country? If she advocates the neglect of the education of her children, and the education of our children for that matter, what do you think she is going to do for this country?

Please don't be so impressed with Governor Palin's so called accomplishments. So what if she sold the governors jet on eBay? So what if she fired her driver and her cooks? ( just a few more people on unemployment)
When she took over the gubernatorial seat of Alaska, that state was not in economic turmoil. That state actually has a huge surplus in revenue from oil and natural gas production. As far as responsibility goes, Gov. Palin's state may be the largest, but it has the lowest population per square mile of any state in the union. Alaska has to import workers and pay their residents to stay, something that started way before Gov. Palin took office.
So she gave every family an extra $1200 dollars last year; big deal. Her family stands to receive over $22,000 from that legislation and I'll bet that she doesn't turn down her check when it comes.
The bottom line is, it is easy to streamline and balance a budget when your state has tens of millions of dollars in surplus. It is easy to lower property taxes when you refuse to purchase new books and update the library and your town. It is easy to make improvements when your town receives oodles of money from the state and federal government.
I am not fooled by the GOP political war machine and neither should any of you. I suggest that you do your own research. Find out that this woman's so called executive experience adds up to nothing close to the remedy we need on Capital Hill.
For God's sake, she didn't even right her own speech. (One of Bush's writers did the hatchet job for her.) More of the same.

Check the date on that article. It's dated August 22nd. Today is the 4th of Sept. I did not call you that a few days ago. "Few" to me means 5. @lexia: I remember that too. It came out of the Bush camp that McCain fathered a black, illegitimate child during the 2000 campaign.
