Trooper! I'm going to admit that I'm probably not as well read on Black History as most on this site. But if the LBJ that you're referring to is Lyndon B. Johnson, he was not a Republican he was JFK's VP and he took over when JFK was shot. Second, I'm aware that a lot of blacks before the civil rights movement were Republicans because it was a Republican that freed the slaves (Lincoln). Third, from my reading, the reason blacks now support Democrats is because during the civil rights movement a bunch of racist Democrats decided to leave the Democratic party and form their own party called the Dixiecrats. The Republicans at the time were stupid enough to welcome them and thought that it would help them increase their majority in Congress. The Republicans were then seen as supporting racists and it stuck. A larger percentage of Republicans at the time supported civil rights legislation than Democrats but the racist label still stuck to Republicans. Al Gore's father at the time was a Senator and he did not support the civil rights legislation. That's my reading of it, but it is an intelligent conversation to have with you instead some of the garbage that I read on here most of the time.

What you're saying about Bin Laden's family being the only people flown out of the States is a myth just the myth that Black People during Katrina were shooting and eating other Black People to stay alive. The funny thing was that Black People actually believed it. To say that Bin Laden has family in Saudi Arabia is like saying there are Mormons in Utah. It is the culture there, a lot of people in Saudi Arabia are related to each other they have big families and I'm not just talking about 2 or 3 people, I'm talking about 100's of them are related. There is a possibility that someone related to Bin Laden could have been in the U.S. at the time and once the planes were allowed to fly so were they.
