First of all, I want to give my condolences to the Hudson family. My question is: if this happened on a Friday morning, why wasn't Julian in school? This story is so sad. They live in the same neighborhood I was born and raised in (Englewood) and I stayed about a mile west of that house. Englewood is straight hood. As long as black people have been there, out of all the communities in Chicago it always was within the top 5 of murder rates.

This story doesnt match up to every published report. As far as how the murderer entered the home, IDK but Jennifer's mother was shot in the head and was on the living room floor while the brother was found upstairs shot in the chest in a room. A cousin came to the house around 3pm and discovered the mother on the living room floor and immediately ran out and called authorities. Then thats when the fire dept. discovered the brother's body in an upstairs bedroom. That is the story from every major news outlet. The boy is missing and I pray for his safe return and I also pray that the guy William has a heart and tells what he knows if he knows anything. It saddens me that women will choose having a man over the best interests of their child. I don't know where you're getting your info from but there has been an Amber Alert on this child since Friday night when they discovered he was missing. There have been extensive search parties for him and Nancy Grace, CNN and other news outlets including Fox News (surprisingly) have been showing the Amber Alert for the last three days.

Wow, I pray that this little boy is found safe and sound. That would be at least one bright spot in this tragedy.

this story is not accurate, because cnn reported that the brother's body was found in a bedroom, not by the front door, and that the mom was shot square in the head...this is not sounding right. Plus, why would they do this, it makes no sense if he knew the Julia was at work..what was the motive? Why kill her family. No, this story does not ring true.

i hope they find the child soon, otherwise the chances of them finding him are slim. Its effort for a kidnapper to be moving about with a child (if they are moving about)... or even stay in the same place (as the police may be closing down on them.) The boy is quite big for his age too, so its harder to move around/hide him.

It is now being said that William Balfour has been charged with parole violation stemming from his attempted murder conviction and has been transferred to the Illinois Dept of Corrections. I'm not sure how he has violated his parole if he isn't talking but since they have nothing on him regarding this case so far this was the only way they could hold him.

I think people are criticizing her for marrying him or whatever is because most women like Julia who are overweight have low self esteem. Its ashame and we see it on movies all the time how they will be with whoever will want to be with them no matter what the circumstances. She bought a felon to her mothers house. This kind of stuff happens when you bring felons around people you love. Dude was an "ATTEMPTED MURDERER". He tried to kill someone but the guy lived. If the guy died he would be serving a life sentence or possibly the death penalty.

The guy threatened to kidnap her son and kill her family. She ignored the threat thinking this felon was "kind hearted" and "changed for the better". She felt this guy who "ATTEMPTED TO MURDER SOMEONE" was not a credible threat to her family.

This situation is 100% attributed to her bad judgement like it or not. Now this felon knows the wherabouts of her son but he aint going to speak. The little boy is a witness. Without a witness, there is no case.

From what I am reading, the person or persons just walked in shooting, no words were exchanged. Cold bloodied. It's like they were on a mission. [SPAM][SPAM]_____________ "Police believe that the killer (or killers) then abducted Julian and fled in Jason's white Chevrolet Suburban, plate number X584859".

Now this is the part I REALLY don't understand. If after shooting and killing the brother and mother why would they TAKE Julian? Why didn't they kill him also? [SPAM][SPAM]___________ How did they get the keys for the SUV? Why would they need the SUV? Did the killers WALK to the house?

Certain things just don't add up or maybe the police are only releasing information they want us to know and holding back other information.

It's been 2 days and this child has not been found, but I am still going to believe he is alive by the simple fact that Julian was taken and not killed along with the mother and brother, after all this person or persons just finished killing two people in cold-blood.

It has to be a reason they chose to keep him alive and take him.

Why was the husband and sister living with Jhud's mother in the first place, they are both two grown ass adults?

The news says that a shot was fired through the front door killing the brother instantly, so how was it that his body was discovered upstairs in the bedroom?

Why did it take for Jen to fly home to Chicago to identify the bodies when the sister was there?

I hate to say this but this sister seems like she knows a little something and don't want to say anything. I find this very strange, also if this sick bastard would kill the mother and brother then certainly he wouldn't have a problem killing a child.

But the problem is they are not putting this sh** in the correct order. There are a lot of missing links. For now lets use what we know.

10/23- Julia is out for her birthday, had to take Julian with her. (did you notice she said happy birthday to herself at the press conference?)

Julian keeps bugging her to go home with Grandma, a “friend tells him to let his mom enjoy her birthday. (did you notice Julia seemed like she was still aggravated behind it.)

Then the story skips to him being in the car sleep and Julia having a hard time to get him in the house. ( he is like 4’11 and 130 that would be a task considering her physical condition)

Now the Grandmother is waiting at the door. (why?) It was late. The grandmother went upstairs to bed and Julia went to wherever she sleeps downstairs. Where is Julian? Who put him to bed? Or is he still in the car? By the way William sold Julia’s car and Jason had to play taxi . Who car was she driving? She didn’t say she was dropped off.

Where was Jason? Was he already in bed?

Now as of this point the last person to see her mother alive and her son, was Julia. Jason’s whereabouts are unknown. Where was his truck?

The rest of the night goes by. Julia goes to work. What time would that be? Was Jason’s truck there?

After she “leaves” to for work. (how did she get there with no car, did Jason take her?)

Now it must have been shortly after she went to work considering it couldn’t have been the early that she left because she was out all night. And the following is from her MySpace page:

Then the mother is shot and killed in the living room. (how?)

There are 3 people in this house before shooting begins. Mother, Brother, and Son.

1 Shooter and no one runs out of the house to get to help and this is broad daylight.

If this shooter was a billy bad a** to start shooting from outside of the house where someone should have saw him. Then why would he take Julian? It’s not his kid. Obviously didn’t care about getting caught for the murders. Why not kill him too or just leave him there?

Who shoots first thing in the morning how is that normal. Hell drive bys and sh** normally happens at night where no one can be identified.

This unidentified cousin who lives down the street goes over to the house that has a bullet hole through the front door and discovers the Mother on the floor dead @ 3pm? Considering Julia went to work hella early I would think she should have been home by that time.

She comes home at some point and discover what has happened and according to her boss she did her shift at work and left. But to where? She was MIA for a minute. She then calls “Punk” instead of calling Jennifer to tell him what happened. Hell they must not watch the news. He doesn’t understand her And puts Jennifer on the phone. ( why wasn’t she as hurt as she was on that phone call when she had the press conference?)

Now 2 cars are missing in action. Jason’s truck and somebody’s f**k it bucket. If the bucket (green car with hanging head light) is William’s how in the hot hell did he manage to drive both cars at the same time away from the scene? That is some real gifted sh** if he was able to pull that off. But I guess he has skills to kill 2 people in 2 different parts of the house without the other running for there life. And Lets not forget that travelling bullet. (I wonder how much those cost).

No one sees William at the location, no one saw Billy Bad A** shooting in the front of the house. But because he has a criminal record everyone all of a sudden remembers that William threaten revenge because he was trying to steal a car? Is this the same car he sold of Julia’s or is this a different car? Was he mad because they wouldn’t let him steal the car? He would be the one how benefited from the sale of Julia’s car. If Julia was that mad why didn’t anyone file a police report for the stolen car? If he forged her signature on the deed of sale then that is a crime. Why isn’t he being charged for that right now?

And of course after he killed 2 people and did God knows what with Julian he manages to keep in touch with his family through out the day. And of course after a days work instead of him going on the run…. He goes to his New Baby mama’s house and kick it. (What is wrong with this picture).

It seems as if he was over Julia but according to her MySpace page she wasn’t done with him.

Now Julia on the other hand has a son she really didn’t want, and her mother took care of. And he had the nerve to ruin her birthday with his whining wanting to go home to his grandma. Her other siblings are like more by her parents, they are the talented ones, she is controlling ( probably whipping William’s ass on a regular). I saw Julia on the news last night. She seemed very distraught, contrary to what some people think. She said if anyone knows the whereabouts of her son to return him or drop him off on the side of the rode. I would not be able to think straight at a time like that but she had to get out and speak for the sake of Julian. I hope they let him free and they did not do physical harm to him. I don't know if this guy William had anything to do with it but if he did, Julia should feel nothing but guilt because she let this guy into her mother's home. They appear to be a very close knit family and Julia probably never imagined anyone harming them. Maybe someone is hoping Julian won't tell what he saw and are busy convincing him not to speak.

You hit the nail on the head. This Julia is suspect. I went through her Myspace pictures and comments also. She appeared almost ungrateful. She was sooo "bored" in the hotel, before the MTV awards. Jennifer tried to make her a part her new life, and show her azz the world, but all Julia did was look bored. DAMN

The Representative of the family should have spoke at the press conference and allowed her to say her plea and move the hell out of the way. The questions the press was asking was retarded but I think it was on purpose. Firstly, police have reported the shooter may have been shooting from the front door which would explain why their mother was found in the living room. Secondly, one of the victims had defensive wounds which means one of two things, that victim was Jason and he fought with the gunman bofre he began shooting or he was trying to get the gun from the shooter. Neighbors recall hearing gunshots between 8am and 9am on Friday morning which so happens to be the day chicago's public school children were out of school. And, yes........a drive-by can occur at any given time of day here on the South Side of the Chi and this was not unusual for this neighborhood. I have witnessed drive by's in front of elementary schools first thing in the morning and after the last school bell rings for the day. As for the vehicles, Balfour's "phuck it bucket" (that was hilarious LOL!!)was found later on Friday evening less than a mile away from the Donnelson/Hudson home which would explain why it is believed he may have stolen Jason's Suburban. Allegedly, he parked his car, walked to the house, something happened and he left with the child in the truck which was the closest vehicle to the home. As far as Julia's whereabouts, she is a school bus driver which measn she has to be at work as early as 5:30 am. It is possible that Jason drove her to work and was hime before 7am. Whatever happened the night before has no bearing so far on what took place that morning. If the police are looking at her as a suspect they are not saying anything about it. However, I will agree with what is said about the decisions she makes. She has known the suspect since childhood and I'm sure the entire family was aware of his criminal background. Unfortunately, dating a thug is the norm where she comes from. This area is wrought with drug dealers, gang bangers, high crime, low income, baby momma drama and any other form of ghetto fabulousness you can think of. It's no excuse but you all cannot expect her to want more for herself or her child just because her sister decided she wanted better for herself. One of the main reporters who is covering this case who is with the Tribune is the reporter that agreed with me about Julia knowing more then what she is leading on. They are finding everything kinda fishy too.

I agree with Jean Gray. I know that Julian didn't think anything like this would ever happen, but she has to know that she (like many other women) made a bad choice for a husband. A carjacker and attempted murderer, isn't the best choice for a step-dad or role model for your son. Well the police cannot say everything they know or they won't get new evidence and suspects. They have to play it cool. So, if a weapon is with them, they won't say. And after 26 years of working with law, I'd say for sure that there are many holes in this case and many mitigating damages. Most moms when something happens to their children they are running out in the street like old girl did in Boyz N Da Hood. But, the calmness is eery. Maybe she is heavily medicated.

I am also beginning to think this has something to do with drugs, because I can't understand why Julian was spared and the others were not, but then again drug dealers don't give a damn about killing children also.

William might not have pulled the trigger, but I feel pretty sure his actions led up to these crimes, like selling Julia's car to pay off a debt but still owed more money.

By Julian being taken and not killed might mean these people hope to get the rest of their money through a ransom since they know this is Jennifer's nephew and they told William to keep his mouth shut or something worse would happen.

Then the story skips to him being in the car sleep and Julia having a hard time to get him in the house. ( he is like 4’11 and 130 that would be a task considering her physical condition)

Now the Grandmother is waiting at the door. (why?) It was late. The grandmother went upstairs to bed and Julia went to wherever she sleeps downstairs. Where is Julian? Who put him to bed? Or is he still in the car? By the way William sold Julia’s car and Jason had to play taxi . Who car was she driving? She didn’t say she was dropped off.

Where was Jason? Was he already in bed?

Now as of this point the last person to see her mother alive and her son, was Julia. Jason’s whereabouts are unknown. Where was his truck?

The rest of the night goes by. Julia goes to work. What time would that be? Was Jason’s truck there?

After she “leaves” to for work. (how did she get there with no car, did Jason take her?)

There are 3 people in this house before shooting begins. Mother, Brother, and Son.

1 Shooter and no one runs out of the house to get to help and this is broad daylight.

This unidentified cousin who lives down the street goes over to the house that has a bullet hole through the front door and discovers the Mother on the floor dead @ 3pm? Considering Julia went to work hella early I would think she should have been home by that time.

She comes home at some point and discover what has happened and according to her boss she did her shift at work and left. But to where? She was MIA for a minute. She then calls “Punk” instead of calling Jennifer to tell him what happened. Hell they must not watch the news. He doesn’t understand her And puts Jennifer on the phone. ( why wasn’t she as hurt as she was on that phone call when she had the press conference?)

Now 2 cars are missing in action. Jason’s truck and somebody’s f**k it bucket. If the bucket (green car with hanging head light) is William’s how in the hot hell did he manage to drive both cars at the same time away from the scene? That is some real gifted sh** if he was able to pull that off. But I guess he has skills to kill 2 people in 2 different parts of the house without the other running for there life. And Lets not forget that travelling bullet. (I wonder how much those cost).

No one sees William at the location, no one saw Billy Bad A** shooting in the front of the house. She made me think of Susan Smith. As many will recall, Susan Smith murdered her 2 toddlers by drowning them in her car. She blamed a Black male carjacker, which was later proven false.

The reason Julia Hudson reminds me of Susan Smith is the deception I noted in each of their press conferences. Julia has the jump on Susan however, because she at least made 'eye contact' throughout her responses. Susan, on the other hand, barely raised her lids. Neither cried. I realize crises like family murder or possible murder affects every individual differently & shock could be the case here with Julia, but, there is a problem with this woman.

@jonas: Please stop speculating. It has already been reported that Jennifer wanted to move her mother out of the hood. However, some people love the area they grew up in and prefer not to move. That was her mother's house and she was an adult who allowed Mr. Balfour and her children to live there. Jennifer can not be blamed for whom her mother allowed to live with her. With the exception of the missing child, these were all adult people. Mrs. Donerson sounded too trusting and wanted to help her son-in-law, who ended up killing her probably to get back at his wife.

In violent cities, people know each other and want to help. Most prisoners have long rap sheets and can not be rehabilitated.

Mr. Balfour is a prime example of why so many black men are incarcerated. It has nothing to do with the white man building prisons just to put them there. It has all to do with violent behavior, uncontrollable anger issues and the proclivity to commit crime. He's also a prime example of why single women should not allow these men in their homes and around their children and families.

When someone becomes famous it is expected of them to help their family financially. If they're close to their parents I can see helping but why should they be responsible for giving handouts to family members over and over and over again? They shouldn't.

Usually when tragedy strikes, there's a would've, could've, should've but in the end a lesson has to or will be learned.

I live in Vegas, and if you've been watching the news not too long ago a young white boy was kidnapped and returned safely. The story generated mass media coverage. I was at the post office the other day waiting on my boyfriend and I noticed a packed of fliers showing profiles of all the missing kids in Vegas. You wouldn't believe how many Latino and Black kids go missing and you never hear about it.

A child's body was found in a vehicle on Chicago's West Side (see map) this morning and police are investigating if it is that of Julian King, the missing nephew of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson.

The Cook County medical examiner's office has sent investigators to the scene in the 1300 block of South Kolin Avenue where the boy was found around 8 a.m., an office spokesman said. The child had not been identified.

A Chicago police spokesman released no information about the discovery.

An Amber Alert was issued Friday after Julian was reported missing after a family member found his grandmother and uncle shot to death inside the family's home in the 7000 block of South Yale Avenue.

Missing from the home was Jennifer Hudson's brother's 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban with Illinois license plate X584859. Live TV shots showed a white Chevrolet Suburban being investigated parked along Kolin this morning.
