I agree, everybody is entitled to their own preferences, but somethings are better left unsaid. As a Black man, how dare you fix your lips to imply that a whole shade of your people are ugly and incapable of natural beauty. If you dig deep, you will find that he doesn't really discriminate and runs after dark skinned beauties all the time. That would make sense because opposites tend to attract. I'd like to see this - for one reason. Is there any show on TV that consists of NOTHING BUT BLACK people - not that I've seen. This would be a first for that alone. I am the lightest of every member of my family. As a child, teenager, and for part of my adulthood, I was teased about my complexion constantly. So I developed a hugh inferior complex. Hating myself for my color. As a teenager, I would deliberately purchase foundation in colors two shades or more darker than my genuine color. Not knowing at the time that I looked utterly ridiculous! Even now some people have things to say about my complexion. I never dated light skinned men because I didn't want to be reminded of my color. So I went for the dark skinned brothers. The darker the better. I even went so far as to turn my nose up at a light skinned brother. He better not step to me! How foolish is all this? I now consider myself to be black. I no longer believe in classifying myself or the black race as light skinned, or dark skinned to the sense of describing them to another person. I realize that people will be singled out for just about anything. IE: Too skinny, too fat, too ugly,too light, too dark, etc. But unless you actually go through some of the taunting that I went through(and I am sure others have also) you can never understand what a person goes through. It took me years to love myself just the way I am, and to stop wishing to be something that I am not. People who have problems with whatever I am can no longer take away my joy. That's on the real!

I would have never thought that a lite skin person had a skin complex. I know how its feels to be pcked at and overlooked for someone whose lighter than me. When I had this complex, I only wnted lite men, I couldn't stand drk skin men. I wanted to have a baby by a lite skin dude becuz I wanted my child to be lite. I didn't wnt them to suffer like I did. @SirChocola: Nowadays yes, a lot of light skinned people do have the world handed to them. I don't, but I see that others do. When I was growing up I was picked on primarily by family and a friend or two concerning my skin color. Not like I'm sayin that everyone picked on me. Others picked on me for other reasons. IE: Straight legs, short thin hair, too tall. Too many teeth. Of course now I have outgrown all of that except for the straight legs. I now accept myself for who and what Iam. If some don't like it then oh well....

I was also picked on as a child about my skin color and people did not like me for no reason at all, I did not know it was becuase of my skin color, it was sad when I found out it was becuase of my color as I got older.
