He’s had some great moments and made good music in the past, but he no longer has the interest of the general public or myself.
Always these coons talk about who's not hot or whatever....how about making god music....Hip Hop died with BIG and Pac...now its just rap music and no one gives an eff about the culture or how it affects our community or how we are viewed as a people...go get another blood diamond chain and STF buck toothed porchmonkey....he one of the reasons I hardly listen the radio or watch vids anymore. I won't hate on 50 because he made his mark in the hip-hop game. As a matter of fact if it were not for EMINEM we would have never gotten a chance to see 50 on the "world stage". Sure when he was dropping BS singles about how he was gonna rob catz, people laughed at his comedy act. Then when he got with the G-Unit and they all started riding EM and Dre's swillz it became a huge joke, especially for people who knew of 50 in the 90's. Nas is too smart for 50 and that is probably why 50 is not interested in him. Nas brother Jungle said it best, "50 was just a dued from around the way that nobody really bothered with he was a WANKSTA".
For the Record in my opinion Nas is up there with Pac, Biggie,Ice Cube(His first four albums are the bizz, and Death Certificate is in my opinion the greatest literary piece of art for the black man today) Chuck D(slept on), Face, Jigga(in top ten but not five), Rakim, and yall probaly can tell by now I like consious rap. I like the other stuff too but I'll only buy rappers who uplift not the fad ones.
One of the main reason's I am beginning to really detest rap music. Its amazing how current "mega" acts disrespect rappers of the past that allowed them to do what they do now. I don't know who is worse Kanye or 50cent. Each one seems to love to piss on the face of acts that came before him. At least in r&b, rock and jazz people generally pay homage to the trailblazers

Just because the general public is not feelin' Nas doesn't mean he's washed up either. He's washed up in the sense of not having radio hits anymore but the music and talent is very much relevant. Nas fans still support him with or without the mainstream success. Really that's how it's always been for Nas because he has neva been a crossover artist who was a stable on Urban radio! As long as an artist is still selling music, they're not washed up IMO!
Now 50 his sales have steadily declined with each album. Which tell me, his fan base is growing smaller and smaller. 50 has to rely on mainstream to sell albums. Once his buzz is gone, he will be irrelevant. While artists like Nas will still be selling. Qaulity music neva goes outta style!
the whole chronology of the 50-Nas rift is like this:
1) Nas & 50 were friends in the late 90s, early 00s
2) Around 02, 50 was getting major buzz on the underground scene through his G-Unit mixtapes
3) In 2002, Jennifer Lopez had a song Called "I'm gonna be alright" which originally featured 50 Cent on it
4) Murder Inc. either went to Columbia/Epic or to JLo herself and asked for 50 to be removed from the song
5) Nas(who was also on Columbia/SONY) replaced 50 on the song and shot the video with JLo
6) the song became a smash hit that summer
7) 50 who was trying to get into the rap game at the time then questioned Nas loyalty and friendship towards him.
8) Around the same time Nas then appeared in "The Pledge" video with Ja Rule, Ashanti and Irv Gotti and was throwing M's saying he's riding with them
9) this made 50 questioned Nas sincerity even more
10) In late 2002, early 2003 50 Cent's "Wanksta" blew up and he signed with Eminem's Shady/Aftermath Records.... THE WANKSTA RECORD is 50's intro to the music listening masses
11) In 2003, Get Rich or Die Trying LP dropped..... "In Da Club" was a smash hit and it's clear that 50 is now the biggest name rapper in the game.
12) After 50 success... Nas went around in radio and magazine interviews questioning 50's conduct and motives, etc.

Nas my nigs....but what 50 sayin...has some substance. Hip-hop has change for the worst, and Nas poetic style is not commercial anymore. All of us that grew up with Nas still love his work, but the kids these day don't care or understand where he's coming from, that real talk. Nas's style belongs in the Underground circuit of hip-hop where true hip-hop still lives.

It's unfortunate that people feel like someone isn't relevant unless Viacom or corporate radio say so. Personally, I don't need corporate validation to think an artist is on point...I saw Nas just this summer and he had the entire crowd at a packed, large concert venue in the palm of him hand...going nuts and reciting every word...truly moving the crowd as an MC is supposed to...

no I live in indiana so i don't get ny radio, I think yall got the best radio as far as getting all the interviews though because i have an old college friend who is from newyork and he keeps me posted, he is in the industry-I've also seen 50 dissing nas in hiphop weekly, calling him garbage, dissing nas on mtv, that's between them, that song with the both of them "projects too hot" with mr illmatic, nature and 50 was off the hook

After Pac, Nas is the best rapper to me. I always said that he was the best thing since Pac. I loved Pac, Scar Face, Nas, Warren G, Ice Cube, LL, Common,Big Daddy Kane, Heavy D, Will Smith, Rakim, Slick Rick, Eric Serman and his side kick, 30+ JayZ, OutKast, Kanye when he has something to say, and a few more. 50 doesn't make that list.
I'm from the south, but I never thought Wu was all of that. A lot of stuff they said didn't make sense. They had Red Man and Meth and Ghost Face was alright. Other than th at, I wasn't impressed by the other 500 members.
