The indigenous people of Barbados are not black. Africans were brought over as slaves. The original people of Barbados were Caribs. The tainos, arawaks, and caribs were the original people of the islands in Caribbean/West Indies. They are like the native people of South America in appearance and culture.

I feel sory for mixed kids.. for real identity is a big issue when growing up but you have black kids that will talk about the whites and white kids that will talk about blacks. My friend says that it can be uncomfortable for them.

That is incorrect. Way before the transcontinental slave trade occurred; so-called "Black" people or people of African descent came in all shades. We inhabited all different regions of the continent that had all different types of climate. That is why the skin complexion of someone from Ethiopia is different than someone from Ghana
I've HEARD that SOME Africans supposedly don't see Black Americans as AFRICAN (as in black African) but I've never heard none saw us as black. I know so many Africans I'm just about to start asking them individually what they think. I know hella Nigerians, Morrocans, Eritreans, Ghanians, people from Cameroon, Sudan, Uganda, Ethiopia...it's wild on my college campus...people from all over.

At first I thought she was "Spanish" but when she struggled in Spanish class I knew something was up. I thought maybe she was adopted but I later learned she was bi-racial. Her mother is Asiatic and has a dark complexion. Her father is Jewish. Like I said before, Most times the Asiatic genes dominate. Sometimes they do not.
