HONESTYLY, YOU ALL NEED TO START VISITING STORMFRONT DOT ORG. I go on there every once and a while to see just how bad white folks are talking crap about us. After visiting MTO for a year, I noticed that a lot of the things they say about us and how we bash ourselves are true. We author things that hurt ourselves. It goes beyond "go back to Africa." They address the divide (myth or not) between black men and women and how black men have pretty much left us for women of other races. They talk about how hard we try to be as far from black as possible (ie contacts, weaves, etc). Some of the comments they make on their site are like ones I have read on MTO.
Normally, I would not give a rat's azz about what white people think about me. I know who and what I am. Yet I found, after being on MTO for a year, that there are many people out there who are perpetuating negative stereotypes, are not raising our kids to feel good about who they are, and who are further dividing Black people. Wake up ya'll! Everyone else knows that we are divided and that we do not fully understand our history or where we are going as a people. They know that we tear each other down and that when we do talk about each other, we use stereotypical genetic descriptions (ie nappy headed hoe or fat black biatch). We have to let the dumb mess go.
With that said, I am saying goodbye to MTO. Being on here has helped me to see how others think. Yet the tearing down of our own race is heartbreaking. This site attributes to the demise of Black people, especially black women. I have made my share of negative statements and I am not proud of that. Yet I see how sites like this, which could be a source for encouragement, positivity, and education, attribute to the brainwashing of my sisters and brothers. I understand that MTO is competing against TMZ. The difference is that TMZ does not make racial reference to the people they are tearing down.
My hope for 2009 is that readers of this site crave something different. MTO definitely has a following. I hope that you demand to see more positive images of Black people. I hope that you crave to see what is positive about our beauty! I hope you stop disrespecting each other and learn to express your point of view without cyberfighting and holding grudges!

I must admit that I start my day by reading you guys. In spite of the poor spelling and grammatical errors, your facts are 95% correct!!!!!! Keep doing what you're doing. A little bit of knowledge for you MTO. Just because you are visited frequently does not mean that you are a "favorite" of the people. Sometimes people just visit a site mearly by word of mouth or saw it somewhere and came to take a peek. That don't mean that they continue to visit that site.
