This goes to show u that MTO doesn't now much about the recession. Real Estate sucks right now. People can't sell their houses for *** but they keep building all these new houses and condos every where, f_cking the economy up even more. He need to keep that house and rent it out, sit on that paper for a little longer.

The fact that he's selling it at a 50% loss only speaks of the current value based on the latest assessment and has nothing to do with him having money or not having money. It's just what the property is worth today so a smart man would sell if he doesn't forsee a change in the market.

For one reason - it goes without saying that if the market today will not bare the cost of what he paid for it - then he will suffer a loss. That's just simple arithmetic, profit and loss, sales and real estate. It' unfortunate, but that's the recession that we are in.

He is hardly broke! The man is empowered by the wisdom of God in his financial dealings- and I am sure that he has his bases covered. A person who lived in a car surely knows what povery and lack is like - he hardly wants to return to that life ever again.
Also, he has a whole FILM STUDIO....it takes masterminds to pull real estate like that together and not consume all of your own money.

Tyler previously stated in an interview that since he had his house in a movie (diary of a mad black woman) people found out where he lived and there were women hanging around his house and some were even trying to break in. So he had to move. Like others have stated, the economy is bad and now most real estate is being sold for a loss. Get it straight MTO.

I love Tyler Perry... I love his show, his plays, and his movies! He has come a long way...Why not treat yourself? Everybody else do it and some don't have as much as he have... I don't believe he's going broke, I just think he found something that fits him better... What I don't get is why he needed all that space and its just him! What he need to do is go slap the $hit out of that boy Micheal from Jena 6 for not taking him up on his offer and going to college...

Tyler Perry is FAR from any money issues. This is the home he's selling because fans were climbing fences and everything just to see it. He said he became unhappy living there.
He's probably taking a loss due to the economy. Mansions in CA have been lowered and lowered until some of them you can buy for a steal.
Luther Vandross lived lavishly too and never had any money scandals. If you have it to spend and want to treat yourself, do so. Especially for a tax ***.

That is the same mansion that was seen in Diary of a Mad Black Woman. *** after the film, he put that mansion on the market because fans kept making surprise visits. It had been sitting for probably a couple of years. Then, in case you've been living under a rock, the market got bad. And, the last time that I checked, even before the bad economy, not many folks could afford a $6 million mansion!!! He just found a buyer. He designed the mansion and could eat a $3 million loss. He was ready to get it off his hands. Don't get it twisted. Tyler is living quite comfortably. People love to hate on him and Oprah. Black folks always want someone to look up to, but then when we have someone who does well, we try to bring them down. Or, we secretly hope for their demise. God did NOT bring them this far to leave them.
Tyler is NOT broke!!! That's his old house that has been on the market for 2 yrs in South Fulton. Even if sells it for 3 mil he'll still make a profit because it only cost him about 1.5/2 mil to build it. Plus dude just bought the old Delta headquarters here in Atlanta and turned that into his sound stage. MTO y'all slippin. If that is the same mansion that was used in the movie, “Diary of a Mad Black Woman” it has been on the market for years. As a matter of fact, it has been on the Market since that movie came out and that has been over 3 years. Tyler has not lived there since then. Perhaps it is better for Tyler financially to just let it go for $3 Million as opposed to holding out for the $6 million. The poor economy is hitting everyone hard. It isn’t economical for him to pay taxes and such on a home he isn’t living in.

Sorry but I have to correct you on another accord. Being that I knew Tyler Perry's new mansion located just off the Chattahoochie River was still under construction. Further research took me to an aerial view on his home dated 10/17/2008. From that pic you can definitely see that his house was not completed then and would be impossible to finish in this *** time.....It is 36,000 sqft you know!

Tyler Perry does not have money trouble. Anybody who owns real estate is getting hit. Has nothing to do with your personal money. Maybe he wants to sell it to minimize the decrease in value before it goes down even more. The man made something like $125 million last year. Not to mention, a new spin-off show on TBS for a full season of 13 episodes. Cha-ching. C'mon MTO.
i live in the atl and i see this crib at least once a week...... thats the old crib..... the new one is off the chain.... get the info valid and stop the hate.... tyler is one of the only black progress makers that will give anyone a chance to come up...... he finds talent in places that others would not be seen at..... i've seen him hire a band by just going out to dinner at a jazz spot... i know singers, actors and actresses that were discovered at local jam sessions..... he's a good brother to meet in the right places
Are ya'll serious. He has been trying to sell this house for a minute this was the house they use in diary of a mad black woman. He bought some land and built another big house on it. This was some land that this white man kept trying to sued him for. But this is old news he has been trying to sell this house for a minute so the man is not broke
