: One down …. Four more to go. MediaTakeOut.com just got word that DeShawn Snow has officially been kicked off the cast of Bravo’s hit show - Real Housewives Of Atlanta. Here’s what DeShawn had to say about it to Essence.
ESSENCE: We hear that you are no longer returning to "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." Is that true?Ain’t that some mess!!! DeShawn is the ONLY chick who had any cash … and she’s the one getting kicked off the show…DESHAWN: Yes, one of the producers called me yesterday and said that they wouldn't take my option. ESSENCE: What reason did they give for not inviting you back for the second season?
DESHAWN: [One of the producers] called and said that I was "too human for a circus show" and that because the show did so well, they are about to pump up the drama and they didn't think that I would fit in. He gave me an example, saying that during the reunion when I found out what a few of the other ladies said about me, they were expecting me to say more, but I'm not the type to go "television" and start acting crazy because somebody's talking about me. I'm fine with the decision. It wasn't my decision. They let me go and there are no hard feelings. I am thankful for the opportunity. ESSENCE: So were you at all shocked by the decision?
DESHAWN: I didn't see it coming. I was shocked because I just talked to them in December about the new season. It's not like they came to me and gave me an option by saying, "We're going to take a new direction and we want to know if you could be more like this." I was a little hurt, but I just look at it like I am what I am. [My personality] didn't seem to be a problem before, but I suppose the show took a different direction and they no longer see me as the right fit.
Also – we’ve got an update on NeNe’s Leakes’ NEW SHOW. According to MediaTakeOut.com’s inside snitch, NeNe’s trying her best to pull a DOUBLE DUTY – to stay on the cast of Atlanta Housewives and her new SOLO show. Nothing’s been decided yet, but it looks as if NeNe might actually be able to remain on the cast. Get that EXTRA CHECK girl …..
Oh and there are some LIES going around that Usher’s wife Tameka Raymond will be joining the show. According to our snitch inside Bravo, there’s ABSOLUTELY NO truth to that. The insider told MediaTakeout.com, “[Tameka Raymond] is not interested in joining the cast.”
I like DeShawn, but I don't think she really fits in. I will miss her though. Maybe she will learn how to cook. These women really get spoiled when they have money. I mean you have three boys and you can't cook. That's why you never see these kinda of women again, once the get divorced. Her charity is great, but come on , learn how to at leaset cook.
She did have the most class out of everyone.
But what really got me was the way she talked with them TEETH. I don't know if there fake or not but it was just urkn me to see someone talk with there mouth closed or talking with a smile.
She need to use this as a stepping stone for a ventriliquist act cus thats talent rite there. (corny i know)
They just want more black women on there who are going to show there ass on tv and prove the stereotypes that other races think about black women. SMDH. Deshawn needs to move on from that BS show anyway. She was the only real housewife besides Lisa. That show really just irritated the shyt out of me. A whole bunch of grown ass women fighting like high schoolers.
They were bascially saying she's too good for the show!....The producer was the one that called the atmosphere.."Circus-like"...Well..that's ok Shawnee...you're not a clown that's a compliment!...I still Love Ne-Ne tho!...and anyway...What house is Sharee gonna film from?...*think bubble*...Oh yeah she has a ConDo now!...ConDo Wives of Atlanta!....okaaa!
I see double standards here. Does anyone else? The majority Black wives have to come off loud, obnoxious and with plenty of drama to have a good show, but Orange County wives can be as boring as they want and not loose their job. I see they added some drama to this season after all the Atl housewives drama brought them great ratings, but still no one got fired when they were drama free and boring. And they NY wives are even worth mentioning. If they get a new season – they must have relatives in the higher ups of the Bravo Corporation.
Times are hard, guess Bravo didnt want to waste a few thousand following someone around who didnt actually need the cash.
Much respect to DeShawn for draggin the cast and viewers to church and having a charity that helps people.
She know God has greater things for her than fronting with these tricks on tv she can use her ability to do much better things we may not see them but he will.
No one on any reality show has good sense. You have to be a buffoon to keep up the ratings and make the show work. The drama queens are staying. DeShawn was a bit too boring and sane for reality TV, especially if you're trying to boost ratings. But, DeShawn was a class act. Sorry to see her leave. She was too real for a phony reality show.
shes the only one with REAL MONEY. the other chicks are some broke ass wanna be's! none of them have paper like DeShawn! not even close! Kim is a jump off that got dumped by her sugar daddy. she has no job, money or career path. Lisa's husband was "released" from the Raiders, her so-called "businesses" arent legit or making money. Sherae's ex husband is broke and cant afford to pay her more child support. Lets not get into NeNe's issues. her husband is a fraud and broke. I wish they kept DeShawn because she was decent, friendly, giving and a good example. she wasnt a hot ghetto mess like the other broads.
Deshawn doesn't live up to the stereotypes that the media continues to perpetuate about black women. It just proves that the white media wants us to continue to act ignorant and ghetto for ratings. Black people are the white mans circus. And boy do some us put on a show for them. We have got to do better for ourselves. At the end of the day when the money and fame is gone all we have is our name. Message!

Even though I thought DeShawn was a little extravagant in her spending, I respect the fact that she never talked bad about anyone and seemed to mind her own business.
I just remember the episode when she had her fundraiser and Sheree was so nasty talking all kinds of shyt and being rude when they had no coat check and she couldn't hang her fur. Now Sheree's broke ass can't even collect child support from her ex, her clothing line bombed and she's scraping the bottom of the barrel for every penny she can get. I hope DeShawn is sitting up in her mansion laughing right now. Karma is truly a bitch.
I'm sure her husband is happy also because he seemed like he didn't even want to deal with any of that foolishness. She's the only one I could somewhat stomach. All of the other broads and I do mean all of them have major delusions of granduer about their status. The worst is Sheree with her tired uneducated self followed by trashy ass Kim. Next we have the REAL instigator Lisa Wu or Lisa Wu Sweat or whoever she is today. Then there is NeNe who I have to say probably will end up with the most "celebrity status" at the end of the day because of sista girl in her. With that being said I'll watch it this next season until I get tired of it. That'll probably take 3 episodes.
She is way too normal for reality TV. All the other ladies had some kind of angle. She was a plain jane compared to the rest of the ladies. Keith Sweat’s ex is lucky to have looks and spunk on her side or she would be too boring as well.
I liked her very positive! Yes it’s true she didn’t have much drama. But the fun part was watching her trying to get everyone back together to talk about their differences.
There something about DeShawn that doesn't sit right with me.
I think she's fake. Or perhaps sneaky. Maybe she doesn't care. She's just smart enough to keep things between her and her husband and maybe CLOSE friends and family.
I don't know why, but I get this money hungry vibe from her. Her husband's money is bringing out her personality that everyone is so fond of. She's laidback like that b/c her money is there.
That comment she made in the baby store to what's her name (lol), talking about 'ya'lls money isn't guarantee, blah blah, meaning the lady's NFL husband' contract. When DeShawn said it, she had this look on her face that reeked childish, country, and fake.
I don't know...she just comes off as some type of way to me and keeping quiet seems to work for her.
I believe there are women with good spirits like hers, but they're not all rich either. What is DeShawn REALLY like?
Lisa is pretty, but she's messy, two-faced and can't follow through. She'll go with whomever, depending on the atmosphere. Silly is what she is.
The two ladies on the far right aren't my favorite (actually none of them are), but I don't get any malicious, sneaky vibes from them. No matter how stuck-up, loud, and obnoxious ppl think they are.
The white chick's kids pretty much can sum up what type of person she is. She has sweet children.
I didn't keep up with the show, but the ones I did see, which was like...two episodes away from the finale, I was able to pick ALL THAT UP.
that thing w/ Lisa and Kim was staged...I guess Lisa got wind that her paycheck was about to go down the drain and amped the drama up...I agree with the previous posts...the network wants Black women to be "Hellions"...or so ghetto that people keep tuning in to watch the animals in the zoo...Ms. Snow will be missed...
@zebretete: I hear you, DeShawn definitely does have the "show off" gene, even though it wasn't as obvious in her as it was Kim and Sheree. For example in the episode where she donated money to the church and made sure the camera saw that the check was for $15,000 that seemed kind of tacky to me because your church donations are supposed to be between you and God. Also I thought the amount of household staff she had was ridiculous, I mean who the hell needs a nanny and a governess? Eric Snow has money but he doesn't have MJ or Kobe money.
Them producers just want somebody who gone show they ass and act a fool. Everybody ain't like that and why would they want a show full of folk like that? DeShawn did bring some balance to the cast. I'll miss seeing her on the next season. And Temeka? Don't nobody wanna see her ole lookin ass on there anyways. Alot of ppl don't like her anyway ion thank this show gonna help her. She won't even fit in. She did right not to participate.

When the chef came over and her and Lisa were talking about cutting back on spending, De just HAD to say, 'besides we have like 30,000 other cars to drive so I didn't need the Mercedes, some COUNTRY mess along those lines.
Donating money to a church, bragging, being boastful, and LOVING to spend money and talk about it (and YES she does on the slick), isn't reserved, cool, spiritual, collected, altruistic to me takeitorleaveit. But that's just how I see it. I TRIED to see her that way b/c she was "different" than the others, but she came off as the type to talk about the ladies with her husband in private and then smile in the ladies faces. Which to me, defeats the purpose of being on the show. She never resolved any of the issues. A barbecue, (a show-off) is how she does things. Can she quote a scripture or offer some advice to her friends about tact?? Instead of smiling all the time?

@zebratete: I also forgot to mention that I was on another site and someone from ATL was writing how everyone down there knows that her whole foundation thing is total bullshyt, it's basically just a way to give her family members a job, which donations pay for, and none of them really do anything they just sit around all day. Also things like foundations are huge tax write-offs for people with money, so as much as it sounds like I'm hating I think she had the foundation more for money purposes than charitable ones.

Deshawn is just as materialistic as anyone of them. i told my girl this and she just cant see it but i read thru bullsh.it. she just knows when to be quiet and has a more level head round everyone elses drama. the comment about her mans money to the other chick is a clear sign of her bullsh.it
That girl was boring as hell!!!! I liked her but she DID NOT fit in. Everbody is trying to stay fit and toned and at that reunion show, she looked like she had gained 50 pounds. Its like she is too comfortable looking fat and homely. Even Monique has personality and style. Nice girl, but NOT right for TV. Goodbye!!
