The Neighborhood Inaugural Ball, which will allow the Obamas to meet some of their new neighbors in the District of Columbia, will be broadcast live on ABC on Tuesday night. It also will feature Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Faith Hill, Alicia Keys and Shakira.

Obama revealed during the campaign that he listens to Jay-Z on his iPod. And the president-elect’s daughters are fans of Cyrus and her Disney show, Hannah Montana.

For their part, Beyoncé, husband Jay-Z and Blige earned their stripes by campaigning for Obama just before the election in states like Pennsylvania, Florida and Ohio.

Obama’s win brought Beyoncé to tears, she said after the election, and she immediately volunteered to help on Inauguration Day.

“I’m there. I can’t wait. I feel like all of us, we’re ready to do whatever we have to do. Whatever they want — if they need me to volunteer, they need me to sing, I’m there, and I’m ready,” a giddy Beyoncé told the Associated Press the day after the election.

Beyoncé also will perform at Sunday’s pre-inaugural concert party at the Lincoln Memorial.

The concert, which will feature readings of historical passages by Jamie Foxx, Martin Luther King III, Queen Latifah and Denzel Washington, will be broadcast starting at 6 p.m. by HBO, and will be available free to non-subscribers who have cable or satellite.

Other performers include Bono, Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, Usher, Shakira, Sheryl Crow, Josh Groban and James Taylor.

Well, it's more important to be asked to sing at the inauguration. So, this is really sad that she's excited.
