: Over the weekend, MediaTakeOut.com reported to you that R&B singer Usher’s wife Tameka Raymond was rushed to a Brazilian intensive care unit last Friday after going into cardiac and respiratory arrest. The report originated from the folks over at Access Hollywood.
Tameka had traveled to Brazil in order to undergo a number of cosmetic surgery procedures, including liposuction. But she fell ill during the procedures.
Now MediaTakeOut.com has more details on what went down. According to the Brazilian news website G1, Tameka fell into cardiac arrest as she was being anesthetized. And she nearly died. G1 claims that doctors at the hospital placed her in an induced coma for 24 hours to stabilize her.
MediaTakeOut.com is happy to report that Tameka has since stabilized and is recovering. Usher and other family members (along with a U.S. neurologist) are in Brazil helping her along in her recovery.
I hope this serve as a lesson that people don't treat plastic surgery like a day at the spa. All these celebrities after having a baby want people to believe they look so great naturally. Quick weight loss (tummy tuck & lipo), bigger breat (sometimes it's because of the baby, but likely breast implants to not look saggy)and the beautiful facial after glow (face reconstruction and a host of procedures). Many are people with low self esteem. This is a bad example for the young mothers who can't afford surgery, who will starve themselves to poor health and create a society of low self esteem for instant need to look glamourus.
When I read she was in Brazil, I kind of figured she was gettting some plastic surgery done. It's supposed to be cheaper over there. If I was to get some plastic surgery, I wouln't go to Brazil or any other country, I would get it done right in the USA. There are already too many risks with plastic surgery as it is.

I hope she makes a full recovery but that's a lot of strain to put on your body only two months after giving birth. Things like breastfeeding will help you lose some of the weight naturally. That's the problem...no one wants to do things the natural way anymore...and you see where it ends up. This trend of plastic surgery right after and shortly after having a baby is rediculous. Some women have C-sections so they can have a tummy tuck righ away. Celebrities constanly feel pressure to look perfect at a high cost. Unfortunately the public tend to copy them. Low self esteem is the drive that keeps these trend going. Brazil is the capital of plastic surgery and its cheap and its private, so that is probably why Tameka made that choice. I'm happy that she is okay. I wouldn't wish death or illness on anyone no matter who they are or what they look like. However, I wouldn't go out of the country for surgery...hell if she wanted a foreign doctor to do her surgery, all she had to do was go to any hospital. There are hundreds of them where I'm employed. Another thing, she married a superstar so she knew prior to her marrying him that she would be subject to public scrutiny. She's no double take in my opinion but I'm extremely happy that Usher married a black woman unlike a lot of the black entertainers. Half of the white women that they married wouldn't give their black asses a second look if they didn't have money...especially the ones with prejudice parents. These people better stop doing $hit to their bodies. When you go to them strange countries talking about you getting lypo and thing you have to be careful some times they will kill you and then call and tell your family that your died. I hope she's learned her lesson. Usher should have been telling her "baby I'll hire you a personal trainer if you want to do it the old fashioned way but I love you just the way you are, you don't need to put your life at risk trying to keep up with Hollywood".
