The source of the photo leak, a law enforcement insider close to the investigation, reportedly raked in $62.5k, double the salary of the person suspected of leaking the pic. Sources state TMZ pays a relative or friend of the snitch within 24 hours of receipt of a photo to cover their tracks.And there’s more, apparently there are some LEGAL ramifications to leaking the pic. Here’s what else is being reported:

When is comes to money, some people has no regards for others. That picture should have never gotten out. Once again the love of money over ruled everything. I can understand the ramificaiton/ consequence of this leak. If I were a neutral juror, I would have made up in my mind he was guilty after seeing that pic. Nothing his defense attorney nor he could say would change my mind during the trial. TMZ will be alright. If they loose advertisers, it will only be temporary.

I figured that with the release of the photo, the case was severely damaged. Even if Chris Brown is convicted, it will most definitely be overturned because the LAPD [EXPLETIVE] up. Plain and simple.
Give it a few days.....I'm quite sure Chris Brown will be bringing a lawsuit against the LAPD. The DA already refused the case and sent it back to the LAPD for more evidence/investigation. I really don't see how the release of this photo compromises the investigation. Even if the picture wasn't leaked, didn't T.M.Z. and you all here at MTO say that there was a chance that Chris "Tyke Turner" Brown was gonna get off scot free anyway, being that this was probably his first major offense or something like that?!?

People are so dang gullable. They got everyone worked up because it was a woman who's picture was leaked. If it had of been a battered man the pictures would have been all over the internet the first day. Double standard or equal opportunity take your pick. I hate that picture was leaked cause even if he gets off (wich he was going to anyway). The picture makes him seem like he IKE'D her. She wasn't beat. All that pic showed was some one who lost a fight not some who who got beat to death. She had 2 black eyes, swollen nose and swollen lips. It will make your eyes water and your nose and gums bleed sometimes too. The two knots could be anything you really can't tell. He might have hit her in the head with his fist or he might didn't. Maybe it was from the tussle in a confined space (ie. the window or dash board) We don't know. But you can tell from the pic that the majority was from that one blow. She was not hit in the eye or cheek or jaw cause there aren't any bruises or extra KNOTS in those areas. When some one gets through getting a real and true beat down there will be knots on top of knots ( no lie they LITERALY overlap eahother given the appearance to be one on top of the other). She did lose the fight but it wasn't out of control. Ppl are just NOT used to seeing this so it just looks so HORRIBLE. The thing that hurts the most on her is her heart and feelings ( I can assure you). She wil be fine. I feel that society is too judgmental & has such a double standard on men & women. If he truly beat Rihanna up the way the media has alleged, if the LAPD truly found her in the condition of the current bruised pics, why was he only booked on suspicion to make a threat and not assault, battery or the likes? I have to say, Im not for domestic abuse but I think a women should be subject to getting her assed kick like anybody else that creates a conflict by going off and slapping, hitting, scratching, cussing and the like. Weather it be 2 women or 2 men or a man and a woman.
If you do this to a man and he goes nut on you it is because you have tapped into a natural reation of human nature.
If man must be held to a standard of self control at all cost then so should the women by not instigating or pushing his buttons.

Not releasing the piccies is usually done to protect the victim. I fail to see how the perp (Chris Brown) can benefit legally from the piccies being leaked.

That's not true. Look how many leaks occured in the Casey/Caily case.(2 year old killed in Florida). Nancy Grace leaks evidence and videos on that toddler's case daily. Justice still must be served though.

OK and everybody wanted to see the picture, so what’s the problem if TMZ leaked it??? Look I know it’s invading her privacy but she has none, she’s a celebrity and on top one at that, so of course everybody wants to know what really went down and want to see the pic’s. And I really don’t think the person who took the pic’s nor sold them should be charged because if they weren’t subpoena to keep their mouth shut then I don’t see what’s the fuss. The pic’s wore bound to come out sooner or later.
the reason the release of pics of Rihanna's injury could cause Chris brown to go free is because it's evidence of proof of the abuse. If the jury see's them before trial then Chris's defense could either argue for the case to be dismissed because the jury may already be biased against his client from seeing the pic & so he would not get a fair trial. Or he could have argue for the pics not to be submitted as evidence on the same basis making the prosecution case harder to prove and mostly circumstantial (weak). More than likely these pics will be thrown out if this goes to trial. Shame on TMZ and a bigger Shame on the officer who sold them to TMZ. There is nothin funny about domestic abuse..
