: Yesterday, MediaTakeOut.com learned that hundreds of America’s Next Top Model hopefuls went BUCK WILD … and started a riot in NYC. According to reports, it all started when, as hundreds of young women stood on line outside an EXCLUSIVE Manhattan hotel, a nearby car began smoking.
That’s when things went left. Here’s how CBS-NY is reporting things:
Three people were arrested and six others were hurt on Saturday after bedlam broke out while contestants were waiting to audition for "America's Next Top Model" in Manhattan. What a mess …. But knowing Tyra, she got it all on tape. Look for it to air on her struggling talk show in the next few weeks."It was scary," aspiring model Sofia Tancredi said. "The girls were crying."
Officials said the chaos Saturday afternoon, involving hundreds of people outside the Park Central New York hotel, was prompted by smoke coming from an overheated car nearby that caused someone to yell "fire," sparking a model stampede at the Midtown hotel.
Mere moments later, someone yelled about a man with a gun, leading to more running and screaming chaos. The panic left the street outside the hotel littered with the would-be models' shoes and clothing, according to news reports.
First and foremost...5.10 or 6 feet is not the only height in the world, neither is a size 0. Just because someone is 5 7 or under does not mean you are ugly or incapable of looking nice on magazine cover, modeling for a fashion designer or a covergirl commercial. Second of all my daughter and her friend was there for the audition, next to get in the door when this melee broke out they could of died. Regardless who was at fault, lives were at stake and someone could have gotten seriously hurt. These girls came from all over the US to audition for something they believe in. This was not something to make fun or or joke about. Only idiots would make jokes about something this serious as a riot. It might not have been important to you but it was to these girls who stood in line for almost 11 hours. To all the girls who stood in line. I praise you for your strength. I hope there is a do over for this one in NYC...but hoping its better organized. Do not let people who bad mouth you get you down. They have nothing else better to do.
I had a friend that was there and she got hurt. She told me some man randomly came into the crowd of girls and just started swinging. This caused the girls to run, and they were packed in line like sardines. The smoke was tear gas that the police officers were throwing into the crowd that was unable to be controlled. From my understanding, Tyra didn't provide the appropriate security for the event. By the grace of God my friend got out. Her and another girl were holding on to one another. She couldn't continue to hold onto her so she was trampled. I guess there are several people trying to sue.
