@IGOTSUMTHIN
I RECEIVED SOMETHING IN THE MIL ABOUT THAT..I LIVE IN NC ALSO...
@MURKAHOLIC
NO THERE IS NO CURE FOR LUPUS...HELL MOST OF THE TIME THE MEDICINE WE TAKE CAUSES MORE HARM THAN THE DISEASE ITSELF.

Lupis is disease
Lupus is an autoimmune disease that can affect various parts of the body, including the skin, joints, heart, lungs, blood, kidneys and brain. Normally the body's immune system makes proteins called antibodies, to protect the body against viruses, bacteria, and other foreign materials. These foreign materials are called antigens.
In an autoimmune disorder like lupus, the immune system cannot tell the difference between foreign substances and its own cells and tissues. The immune system then makes antibodies directed against itself. These antibodies -- called "auto-antibodies" (auto means 'self') -- cause inflammation, pain and damage in various parts of the body.
My Aunt just died from this...Its a sad sad death, lots of steriods and weight gain, and just being sick all the time. Its basically like your body is attacking itself.
@CLASSYDIVA..
READ MY EARLIER STATEMENT..SOME SYMPTOMS ARE SIMILAR TO HIV..HE HAS THE SKIN DISORDER SO HE WOULD GET SORES.
SIDE NOTE: WE AS PEOPLE MUST EDUCATE OURSELVES ON DISEASES THAT AFFECT OUR PEOPLE.
LUPUS IS NOT A SEXUAL TRANSMITTED DISEASE AND IT DO AFFECT AFRICAN AMERICAN MORE THAN ANY OTHER RACE.
Lupus, an autoimmune disease, happens when the immune system attacks its tissues, causing inflammation, swelling, pain, and damage. Lupus symptoms vary, and early lupus symptoms include fatigue, joint pain, fever, and a lupus rash, especially after being in the sun. Familiarize yourself with pictures of the lupus rash. Doctors diagnose lupus by symptoms and blood tests. Lupus is not contagious but has a hereditary component, so family health information is important.
Oh wow! I have Systemic Lupus and it is no Joke! I am glad that he is speaking out about it and going public because a lot of people have no idea what Lupus is. Lucky for Trick Daddy, he only has discoid! I hope that everyone educates themselves and others because (Not wishing bad on others) you may have it. I was misdiagnosed for several years (and I am only 20). Trick keep ya head up and for all of my brothers and sisters struggling with this awful disease WE ARE GOING TO MAKE IT!

JUST TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.
I was diagnosed with Lupus and this is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. I am thankful that Trick is talking about this disease. It was once rumored that MJJ also has this disease but does not want to be associated with it because he is scared that it would be mistaken as a sexually-transmitted disease.
Wow! I was diagnosed with Discoid Lupus 7 years ago, but told that I've been displaying symptoms since I was 15. After the first year, mine went into remission and, with the proper meds, I was able to go back to living a normal life. Then, in 2006, I had a flare-up that landed me in the hospital and it was determined that mine had evolved into Systemic. (Plus RA, glaucoma, Fibroymyalgia and Sjogren's Syndrome.) I haven't been able to lead a normal life since. Everyday is like a rollercoaster. I can not stand to be out in the sunnlight because it burns my skin so badly and if I catch even a hint of a cold, I end up in the hospital and on steroids. PREDNISONE is not my friend because it causes me to gain so much weight, but it does work for getting the flare-ups under control.
My heart goes out to Trick Daddy, his family and friends.
FYI: For the person who said that he needed to get a haircut, I just wanted to let you know that he might not be able to do that. He could have scars that he is trying to hide with the hair or his skin could be so sensitive that if he tries to shave, he breaks out in hives. For me, in the last 7 years my hair would fall out to the point where it had to be professionally completely removed and even then, I would breakout in hives from the razors. I can't even have a mainicure or pedicure anymore because I have such a bad reaction. (Now THAT, I miss!)
I don't know enough about him to put any belief in the rumors about his sexual life and the possibility of him having HIV. However, in my opinion, Lupus is just as tramatic.
I will be praying for him to pull through!
MY PRAYERS GOES OUT TO YOU TRICK DADDY. I HAVE SKIN LUPUS ITS NO JOKE. I AM DOING FINE NOW IT'S JUST WHEN THE SUN IT OUT YOU NEED TO COVER UP.WEAR A HAT AND WEAR LONG SLEEVES. LISTEN -- this Trick Daddy guy ONLY has the "discoid" ('mild') form of lupus.
The "Discoid" form of LUPUS is only the 'mild' form and it is NOT "life threatening".
It is the SLE form of LUPUS (and NOT the "discoid" or mild form of it) THAT KILLS people!!!
Lupus ONLY spreads to and affects the internal organs IF it is the SLE form (and the "discoid" form only bothers the skin)
Trick Daddy is a crybaby and a liar!
He does NOT have the SLE Lupus -- and thus, his chances of 'dying from Lupus' are essentially little to none.
Contact the Lupus Foundation of America and they will tell you that the risk of 'dying' from "discoid" (mild) lupus is little to none (as opposed to SLE -- which is the form of Lupus that kills)
If he spends his time whining and looking for sympathy for "discoid" lupus (a form of lupus that is so 'mild' that the Lupus Foundation of America almost had it removed as being a true form of "lupus") he could NOT handle having "real" Lupus (which is the life threatening SLE form) for even one day or one second !!!
Admittedly -- "discoid" Lupus can (and often does) leave people badly scarred and with very damaged skin (as noted with singers 'Seal' and 'Michael Jackson') BUT it is NOT viewed as being a "life threatening" form of the disease -- it's seen as being a 'mild' form.
People with SLE-Lupus suffer from BOTH scarred/damaged/inflamed skin AND also from life-threatening organ damage.
How dare this guy whine about having "lupus" -- when the form he has is the kind that is so 'mild' (discoid) that it only affects how his skin looks.
Instead of 'playing the victim' and 'misleading the public' into thinking that he has the "life threatening" form (the SLE form) of Lupus -- he would better serve Lupus suffererers and survivors by telling the truth about BOTH the disease AND the fact that he has the mildest and the most easily-handled form of it -- as well as work to get funds to help find a cure for it.
Having almost died several times from the real form of Lupus (SLE) -- I tend to have very little sympathy for people like this guy who want public pity due to their mere skin-irritations and who exploit public ignorance of "true" Lupus by trying to pretend that they (like those of us who have "real" Lupus, SLE and are trying to survive it) are also "dying from it" (when they are not).
