When you're in a girl group, you have differences, and you have to learn how to respectfully agree to disagree. There are a lot of things that happen behind the scenes that people don't know about. Some girl groups have girls trying to steal other girls' boyfriends and that's the ultimate no-no. You have situations like the Kelly thing and Beyonce's parents.
You can say that I'm out for everybody, but if Lisa was to bring somebody in that's her boyfriend, then I'm gonna feel like you got Lisa's back more than mine, and that's gonna be a no-no. I just think that brings a conflict of interest in the beginning.

I agree with 'the eye" (can't see your name). :-) This goes back to when LeTavia and Letoya were dating the twins from Jagged Edge. They were interested in some of the music the guys introduced them to (which the twins wrote). Matthew saw this as a threat and the rest is history. T Boz is right. I remember this from my teen years.
Of course it was ALL about Beyotch because she's Daddy's favourite...he molded her into what he wanted. Out of all 5 members of Destiny's Child (old and new) Beyotch had the WEAKEST voice but the other girls didn't have her looks AND Daddy paying people to make the focus about them...but he did that with Beyotch. Solange couldn't be molded, she has her own voice, her own style...she's not a puppet. Beyotch is as FAKE as they come but people still think she's one the the greatest entertainers...I didn't get it when she was in the group and I don't get it now.

One of the original members (not Letoya, that short dark one) used to date someone from Jagged Edge. Around the time, Kandi Burruss was either dating, or just broke up with the same guy. Keep in mind, this was one of the fist conflicts of interest considering Kandi co-wrote quite a few of DC's biggest hits.
Now the irony is, that's one of the reasons why Xscape broke up. Kandi was dating Jermaine Dupree, whom as everyone knows managed and produced the girls. They felt she was starting to get a lot of favortism.
With Beyonce and Destiny's Child (let's keep it real, the should've change the name), like another poster said, "the writing was on the wall". From the get-go, the very name" Destiny's Child" came from Tina opening up her bible one day and a picture of a baby Beyonce fell out, and coincidentally, it was near the word "destiny".
That name alone, told the entire story of their group's fate.

I agree with what Tionne is saying...I feel the Knowles were doing the best they could to get the group out there, however I don't blame them for putting their Boo first...that's just the way it is...the other girls should have realized that going into the business deal first...I feel some things about the music industry were not explained to the girls thus they probably to this day feel like some dirt was done to them by the Knowles and this is the image they have conveyed to the public...music industry education should be a requirement for artists before they sign on the dotted line...they need a course on how the business breakdown occurs before they sign anything...that would stop a lot of ish before it gets started...however the Knowles were trying to make their Boos dream become a reality, and I commend them for that...kudos to them for that...real talk
Beyonce parents started their careers which got them all paid. Kelly and Michelle would have NOT made it this far without Beyonce and thats a fact. Beyonce was more marketable and she is very talented. Of course the Knowles believed in their daughter more...but lets face reality Beyonce look better, sing better and dance better so its not really favortism. Kelly and Michele are average singers. Their solo projects did not sell no where near as much as a Destiny Child project. She did the right thing by finding new management if she felt neglected by Mathew. But i think she needs to get into other projects because no matter how they market her she will never be up there wit Beyonce. Its not being mean its just the way things are.
I fully understand where TBoz is coming from. Black women don't usually get along...now throw a close knitted girl group together. Chaos. There are numerous groups who have disbanded because of disagreements ranging from mgmt to who's the stand out star but black society will damn Destiny's Child simply b/c of who the lead singer was. Be honest...if your father spearheaded his own record company, who do you think he would have in mind first? His daughter, his own flesh & blood. You silly to think otherwise. Groups should seek their own mgmt team or seek to do solo projects, if they have what it takes to make it. Obviously several of the ex-members didn't. The entertainment business is a dog-eat-dog industry.

------------------------------------------------- Chili's relationship caused probelems with the group. From what I heard, Dallas would try to charge them more for their track. I think he felt like he could because he was with Chili and also, I know the situation caused conflict with Left-eye and Dallas Austin to because the relationship. He said some really bad things about Left-eye. But I think when a super producer is dating a member, the member is going to confide into the producer/boyfriend and that will cause problems.
TLC's one of the most powerful girl groups ever, vocally, mentally, physically, etc. They have been through a lot those 15+ years. Sickness, searching for a family member, arson, bankruptcy, and even the death of a key member. Name it and TLC's done it. On top of all the drama they've had in the past, they still come out on top as always. I love you TLC. RIP Left Eye.

In DC's case she is saying what ppl have said all the long, Tina and Matt has beyonce welfare before any of the other members.
